I have a few very nicely painted giants that I'd like to showcase but... they are not fantastic, we all know that.
I want my giants to really shine, to not just be the visual centerpiece of the army. What kind of stuff would you put on a list to really support say 2 giants in a 2k army, or 3 giants in a 3k army?
I think Ogres are the place for this. I know four different armies can field Giants, but the support pieces are better here I think. Better Lores that help giants, better warmachine hunters and chaff-clearers outside of the Rare slot.
What advice or tactics can really help a bunch of giants shine?

Giants are support, not the other way around.
2 Giants are a good combination to send up a flank together to support each other.
Giants are meatshields/arrow magnets for the rest of your army. 2 Giants make them better at that job.
They are also decent Tarpits with Ld10 stubborn.

Giants are fun and can really perform under the right circumstanses (spelling). Unfortunatelly they tend to get shot down pretty quickly when facing anything other than VC. I say give your opponent something better to shoot at and you are halfway there. 3 single sabretusks, an ironblaster, small units of ironguts/leadbelchers or a thundertusk perhaps?
I have 2 giants and was thinking about putting them both on a stonehorn base and convert them so that hey are holding a battering ram, and use them as a stonehorn.

Don't forget that we now have magic that can affect them. A Regenerating Giant is a pain in the butt for some and we now have other lores we can boost them up with.

I understand that they are not the 'main part' of an army; they are support at best on the battlefield. I was just thinking of the best ways to support them so they can shine alongside the rest of the army if I want to see them shine.
A list with max giants won't have room for an Ironblaster, so Kitties will be vital to hunt warmachines; and some leadbelchers to shoot chaff that will tie up the big guy is important as well.
In magic, there is so much good stuff: Regenerating Giants with Gut Magic? Lore of Beasts to buff them? Lore of Heavens for initiative schenanegans? Terror + Lore of Death Ld Reduction? So many options.

Gorgers are good at getting after war machines, and so are scouting man eaters; you still want cats too. A unit of mourn-fang to worry the opponent so its not a clear cut choice about what to target with war-machines might be helpful too.
In a 2,400 point game you could have an iron blaster too. Counterbattery fire is great or he could support a giant with a chariot charge.
