I had planned on doing a Nurgle themed army once I got the new Ogre book. I ditched the Chaos theme but kept the guts!
I am now doing an army from the infamous Thuderguts Tribe. One of the first things I decided was that there would be no gut plates in the army. I was never really a fan of them and I found that sculpting guts and bellies was pretty easy once you get the hang of it.
The fluff to my force would be that to join the tribe, each ogre would have to eat so much in one sitting, that his gut plate would burst off. I think that fits the greedy nature of the Thunderguts well.
On to the army WIP's...
Tyrant / Brusier
Bruiser BSB
Slaughtermaster
Butcher
Crusher
Ogres
Ironguts
Sabreboars (counts as Sabretusks)
Leadbelchers
Snow Trolls (counts as Gorgers)
Ironblaster on sled
Mournfangs (with converted heads)

Love those conversions, I spies a very characterful and thematic army ahead! Consider me impressed, matey, for the list of things I like here is rather long:
- Bare Guts troops and heroes! - The Tyrant's classic olde head - The Sled mounted Ironblaster - The beasties ( Mournfangs, Gorgers and Sabrenboars) - The classic River Troll heads and - that olde wheel on the Leadie!
Lots of nice touches there, looking forrard t' see them painted.
Cheers,
Captn M.

How did you do your bare guts? they look really nice and smooth, Cheers, TLK
jugger06 Mar 2013
Thanks fellas!
It took a few tries, but after a few, it got fairly easy. First I cut off the sides of the belt where the gut plate would attach. Then I just rolled up a ball about the size of the gut (it's better to go big here instead of skimping; the smaller ones I made at first looked pretty silly on them) and stuck it on. Then it's just using yur fingers to smooth it out, maybe pull it down some to make it look like there's some actual weight on the belly. The sides were smoothed down and then I hid where they attached to the body with weapons, bitz, etc.

I think your guts look cool. Did you think about giving them hair on there stomachs? The conversions look good also.
