Scream for me, ogre stonghold!!

The NWOOHM (the New Wave Of Ogre Heavy Metal) is in town, for those of you too young to recognise it, that's a reference to the  NWOBHM (NewWaveOfBritishHeavyMetal) movement which spawned the likes of Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.

My fellas are a little more eclectic than that, My bulls are going for a generic metaller look, akin to this

my first test model is half done, but needs a bit more work and I appear to have run out of greenstuff!:


everyone has already seen my tyrant, but I'm still working on him so I'll post a picture of the finished product soon!

here's the plan for the rest of the army:

Butcher/slaughtermaster : goth with makeup and a hooded robe.
Tyrant: generic guitar god
Hunter: Lead vocalist, with flowing blonde hair and groupies instead of sabretusks
Leadbelchers: Punks, mohawks and spikes
mournfang cavalry: bikers with ZZtop style beards
IronGuts: Black metal corpse paint and spikes of doooom!

right, so I've given my test guy some hair... a 1980's hair metal perm to be exact!

what do you guys reckon? this is the first time I've really done any greenstuff work, apart from a few boils on some nurgle stuff a while back.

Figured an update was due, pics to follow tomorrow but I've been working hard on my Leadbelchers, got bragg as BSB, 1st maneater is in store waiting to be collected and a slaughtermaster and hunter are being traded for soon!

What are you using to make the bases out of?  I love the look of them.

The bases are made of some stuff I picked up in an unmarked packet off eBay...

It's grey and yellow epoxy of some kind.

I must have missed this Gnoblog back when you started it.

Very good theme. Funny but mostly without looking out of place on a Warhammer battlefield.

How about an Eddie gorger?

I absolutely LOVE your ogres!!!  I love all those bands...and the music and these ogres are just awsome!  Ozzy is still the man even though hes completely out of it lol.  How bout some judas priest ogres?  Or maybe GnR their American but are some of the best imo!!!  Ooh Yngwie Malmsteen!  Lol i  could go on and on!  Great work keep on ROCKIN!

Hope you like him.  He's still need some green stuff filling around the top of the gut plate.  And the Banner is meant to be separate so it optional. (need magnets for this)  I will make another small rocky base with some "stuff" on it that I will use for this guy when he not a bsb. 
I LOVE this guy! That is a fantastic job there! (I want one so bad no..  :lol:)
