I really like the "Show us your BSB" thread - lots of great conversion opportunities with BSBs. However, some of the most impressive conversions I've seen have been in the Maneater department.

Only got the bog standard out-of-the-box Maneaters myself. Not going to convert any until I have the lot painted up as I have all the original ones in metal plus Golfag resin!
Happy to upload the originals if you want, although they are also in my Ogres So Far thread!

Just a repost of me olde gnoblogge, 'ere 's me (partially) self-sculpted Pirate Maneaters. They were supposed to be Maneaters when the first book came out, but to due to points restrictions I had to downgrade them to Ironguts in the meantime. Now that we got the new book, they 're back and stronger than ever.
I'm also working on expanding the unit up to 6 minis, trying not to repeat the mistakes of the past. Also, they need a huge equipment upgrade, as I 'd rather have them use pistols and lots o' them. On the other hand, a found mixed weapon unit quite useful.

Behold the filth that is Nurgle Maneater. Something to be said for puking your own guts back into your guts that are trailing behind you.
FYI, his right arm is some bloated elephantiasis Nurgle business busting through and replacing his Ogre arm. Same thing with the right leg.

WOW! My hart skipped a few beats when I scrolled down to that captains hat, and than again when I saw the back. I love pirates and have drooling over that pic for over 5 minutes now. Did you g.stuff the hat on?
And than we have nurgle incarnate here, which was equally enticing; be it a bit disturbing.

Finally painted and based. And by the way, I can't paint for toffee so don't worry about that.

Thanks for the comments guys! He's been finished for about a year now and glares at me from the shelf, telling me to paint more crew.
Yeah, the hat is a combination of GS, skellie shield boss and imperial feathers. I might be making another soonish and someone else has asked about it too, so I'll try and push a tutorial together when I do them.

Nope - carnifex plate for the shield, and added the spear from the stone horn set. With a few more bits from the carnifex tail for the weapon on the back. I will see if I can get better pictures up one my house move is done and I can dig out my actual camera instead of a phone one.

Very Nice Job, I'm really Impressed by all the conversions ! What have you used to make the shoulder protection plate for the ogre at the extreme left of the band ? (the one with the 2 hand weapon from the ferox) Is it home made ? What head did you use for him ? Can't remember from which unit it comes !

Some great Maneater mods on here!
Like a lot of other folk, I figured I could either pay £90+ for six 'official' Maneaters, or kitbash my own for next-to-nothing. Which I what I did.
I'm not a great sculptor so there's no fancy conversions here - just the usual mix 'n' match from other kits, but I'm happy with the results.
I wanted pistol-wielding Maneaters (character-hunting snipers). They're wearing Altdorf colours as part of their background fluff.

The rivets and patches on his "belt" and cloak, are those made with greenstuff or do they come from a particular set?

They are part of the original cast. They're not really my favorite bit of "Ogre-ness" (along with sticking things in their skin) but they keep to the ogre feel. Plus, of course, they'd be piggish to remove. If you wanted to make something similar then GS would be a good choice and pretty easily done, I reckon.

There is a pair of pistols that come with the mournfang box and a pistol that comes in the stonehorn/thundertusk kit.
I also maid a double-barrel rifle out of 2 banner poles and a harpoon launcher (also from stonehorn kit)

From my experience, with my Black Orc Maneaters, because the head/hands/weapons all scale perfectly between Black Orcs and Ogres!

My pirate Maneaters, starting with my captain and his trusty great weapon followed by a pistol action maneater.
Still not quite finished with the paint and I'm going to add some feathers to the caps but you get the overall idea.

here's 2 of my maneaters. I'm busy with the arabian as a 3rd. The maneaters are the fun models I paint in between other projects as large amount of ogres, gnoblars, etc. Just give the maneaters the attention they deserve and hope they stand out enough on the battlefied.
