i finally made a 2500 all comers

original thread ↗

Here goes.
Slaughtermaster, level 4 death, fencers blades, glittering scales, greedy fist

BSB, heavy armor, sword of striking, enchanted shield, talisman of endurance

Butcher, level 2 gut magic (yes, I will always call it that), crown of command, dragonbane gem, great weapon

8 Ironguts, FC, standard of discipline

90 gnoblars, trappers

6 leadbelchers, bellower

3 x 1 sabretusks

3 x 2 mournfangs, heavy armor, ironfists

2 ironblasters

I'm still uncertain about the butcher kit.  I love the SM and BSB kits with the guts unit + the gnoblar horde of 90 of something and the cannons. I'm trying to put the most cohesive army around that core that I can.
I hope the huge gnoblar horde keeps this list from being too cookie cutter, plus if you have 90 painted gnobs, you hafta use em!
why not split your gnoblars into 2 units, they'll add more drops during deployments and still tar-pit a unit for a turn or 2.  Also, what's the rationale of GW on butcher, unless you expect him to go into combat.  I opted to get ironfist at least for a 6+ parry and 6+ armor save, at least you get 1/3 chance of saving a wound in CC

83. We're all there - have a unit of at least 12 ogres get into the enemy deployment zone with no casualties taken.

GW on butcher is unnecessary. I was just thinking he will tytpically be fighting from second rank. I'm telling you guys- I used to be a fan of the 2 big, but not massive, units of gnoblars. Now, I'm sold on 90 of something. Park em and forget about em til the right time.

He gets to use his GW from the second rank.  It's a 9 pt upgrade that makes you hit like an irongut instead of a bull.
I forgot to ask this in the original post.  What do you think this army's biggest weakness is and what is it most susceptible to?
I think its a solid list. The only weakness I see is that it has 0 flaming attacks. Maybe somehow sneak in a standard and flaming banner on the mournfang?
Yes, I have thought a lot about that.  I also considered a unit of 3 scouting poisonous maneaters with brace of handguns and the flaming banner.  If I had a choice, I would like to wound those regenerating units in the shooting phase if possible. That maneater unit is 213 dang points though (sadface).
