Hey all. I'm sure there has to be another tribe that has a similar name to this one. Nevertheless, I had to write up a short story for my army for an upcoming tournament, so here it is!
Since the dawn of Ogre history painted in the caverns and told from one drunken Ogre storyteller to another, the Ogres of the Greyskin Tribe have wandered the Mountains of Mourn in search of meaning and food--mostly food. While philosophy and thinking about the future are rare for an Ogre, the current food-hoarder and leader of the tribe (also known as Slaughtermaster Decapitator) is a rare breed of Ogre who seeks wisdom and knowledge; most usually through travel and the looting and sacking of opposing armies. Indeed, Decapitator is able to read, and he has used this skill to his advantage is his long-winded personal quest for knowledge when pillaging enemy camps.
The other Ogres of the Greyskin Tribe seek little more than a good snack or a great feast, but they keep their mouth shut about their leader's eccentricities. More than one Ogre's head has ended up in the evening's stew. The rest of the tribe has little philosophical aspirations, especially compared to that of their leader. Their most profound philosophy is simply: "If it bleeds, we can eat it".
Another Ogre stands out from the rest of the tribe: Stonehorn Skull-Snatcher the Bruiser. Stories are told that he has single-handedly ripped the skull of a Stonehorn with his bare hands before eating his first meal of the day. Whether this is true or not, Stonehorn Skull-Snatcher holds a massive Stonehorn skull aloft with his back muscles when the Greyskin Tribe marches to war. The rest of the tribe recognizes this as a symbol of deeper meaning and courage than the usual hungry Ogre can muster, and such a massive symbol has often meant the difference between fleeing Ogres and feeding Ogres. Stonehorn Skull-Snatcher aspires to one day rule the tribe through fear and displays of power, but for now he bides his time and follows his leader's instructions to the letter... until the time is right to become the tribe's tyrant!
Having recently depleted the region's short term food supplies, Slaughtermaster Decapitator leads his tribe on yet another quest for food and philosophical meaning. His wanderings and mystical daydreams have lead the Greyskin Tribe closer to the Empire than all previous excursions have brought them. Whether this is good or bad has yet to be understood. Nevertheless, stomachs are growling and fat mouths are drooling. The Greyskin Tribe marches to war, and the guts of its Ogres are eager to feast upon the enemy!
