Help me

original thread ↗

I have big trouble with TK. I always lose when i meet him them in game. So please give me some nice tactics how to beat Tomb Kings.
You can find some good advice here:

http://www.ogrestronghold.com/forum/index.php?topic=29.0
I had read it a couple of times, but if i tell u what he often have when i play with him. 2 tombscorpions( they are a real thorn in my side) 1-2 lich priest(depends who much points we play) and skelletons and a tomb prince. He do that spell so tey can go twice in a turn, so 1 tomb scorpion always get the charge, and then he do the same spell with the unit hes tomb prince in. What shall i do to winover hes undead armie?
By the way i can tell what i ussaly have i my army:
Bruiser
HA, CSL, luck-gnoblar, Bull gut, mawseeker     157 points
Butcher
Bangstick, 2 toothgnoblars                           165 points
Bulls(5...bruiser in that unit)
ironfist, Standard bearer, look out gnoblar, light armour, 240 points
Ironguts(4)
Standard bearer, bull standard                       212 points
Leadbelchers(3)                                          165 points
Gnoblar(40)                                                40 points
Scraplauncher                                             165 points
Maneater(1)
HA, CSL,                                                    90 points

994 points army

Off-topic:Can some1 give my some idea which gonna be my next buy and why. A hunter, goger or yhetees? I think i can take 2 of them.
I don't have my TK army book with me but here so I may be wrong but will double check later tonight.  As far as I understand the movement incantation it can only be used on units within 12" of the caster.  I would suggest, since you know where his scorps will pop when they do, you avoid that portion of the board.  You can try and get your belchers and scrappy over near that priest too.  Against TK princes and liche's are number one target priority.

One thing you might want to think about when you play him.  Your Maneater doesn't have alot of targets to go out for.  Dropping him and one Belcher will give you enough points for another unit of Ironguts or a unit of bulls and a dispel scroll.

A quote from the post that Ikim pointed too that I will throw out there as a good tactic as well -
"- Tunnelers. Avoiding the markers doesn't help much (Scorpions run fast). The best tactic is to drop a Gnob unit on a marker before anything emerges. Then whistle innocently, and hope he whiffs when he auto-charges you (in which case, you beat him by 4...). "
This thread is worthless without pictures
He deploy hes spiders at the begining of the game and waits for my speed ogres to go futher or i wait for him  ;) if i wait he use his bowmen to get my on other thoughts, then he charge with hes nasty spider.
Tomb Scorpions are very annoying. Try Marching your bruisers unit straight towards one of them, so when he charges, you'll crush him into dust. And the other on cna go up against gnoblars. Use your big units to go straight forwards and crash into his skeleton blocks, allocate attacks on his mages so that they cant refuse a challenge. But if they issue a challenge, take it, they drop like flies. Bangstick any of his fast units, e.g. CHariots and Cavalry, and focus on skeletons. The tomb prince can only cast incantations on his own unit aswell, so thats one less spell to worry about. use your extra points for more gnoblars, but get a unit champion first, that might do it against the scorpion, drop the tooth gnoblars for more gnoblars aswell. Unless he has a Screaming Skull Catapult, get rid of the Look Out Gnoblar.

Tyrant Grog.
For the first of all, you´r army becomes 1234pts,not 994pts.So i´ll help you with a 1250pts list.

Drop the Ironfists.I think everyone knows that they aint that good. They don´t offer any extra protection from shooting, and in CC you will use them as an extra handweapon most of the time.
So,change the Ironfists to Additional Handweapons.
Then on to the LA.What does a 6+ AS do?,i saves one wound for every 6 wounds he causes.
That aint very good for 3pts a Ogre. And you should get the charge anyways and make shure that no-one strikes back.Think about it.It will be like this against, let´s say a unit of 16 Skeletons with Spears and Shields:

4 Impact hits,2-3 kills
Bulls makes 12 Attacks,hits with 8,wounds with 5-6,no AS,kills 5-6
Bruiser makes his 4 attacks,hits with 2-3.wounds with all,kills 2-3.
Thats about 9-12 killed on the charge.
You don´t need the LA or the Ironfists.
Pts saved:20

Now,onto your Bruiser.
I think you mean CLS.Cathayan Long Sword.I would really sugest you to drop it.
Exchange it with a normal GW.
The Bullgut aint that good either, exchange it with something like the Wyrdstone Necklace or a Thiefstone.
The Mawseeker big name aint that good. It´s really risky. He has a SSC so you don´t want your unit to freeze in the middle of the field.
Pts spent:10pts if you take the Wyrdstone Necklace

Butcher:
Looks good, maybe give him a Dispell Scroll to,it´s often usefull against TK.

Ironguts:
Dop the Bull Standard. It aint that good.Get a Warbanner if you can.

Scraplauncher:
Good, nice to see some more lists with theese ^^.

Leadbelchers:
Good,3 is a very good number for this unit.Maybe give them a Bellower for some baiting.

Maneater:
This can be shoot down very easily. How about exchanging him for a Gorger?.
That would save you 15pts.
Pts saved:15pts

Gnoblars:
Good.Always take theese ^^.It would be good to sqeeze some Trappers in though.

So,whit my suggestions it would be like this:

Bruiser
GW
HA
Wyrdstone Necklace
Luck Gnoblar
167

Butcher
Bangstick
Dispell scroll
2xTooth-Gnolars
190

5 Bulls
Additional Handweapon
Standard bearer
Lookout-Gnoblar
220

4 Ironguts
Standard Bearer
Warbanner
237

20 Gnoblars
40

3 Leadbelchers
165

1 Scraplauncher
165

1 Gorger
75

1259pts
9pts over. But it seems as you don´t keep that big of a count on pts ;).

Hope it helped ^^.
Pet Gnoblars:
Snikgit, Wasnuff and Watzit

Thx for all help guys, i hope i can kill hes undead army now with all my new experiens ;)
I have played Tomb Kings alot at 2,000pts. So heres what I would do and I hope this helps.

Bruiser - Give him the seigebreaker so he can do some serious damage if not just give him a GW also Give him the Wyrdstone necklace. this of course will help him stay around a little.

Butcher - Get read of the banstick Have you really found it that effective against Tomb Kings? Maybe against Skeletons but he can get more of them! Get two dispell scrolls. and drop the Tooth Gnoblars you probably won't get any spells off unless he wants to try and weaken you Butcher! And Run him alone I know it makes him more of a target but hide him his there for defence in this game and he doesn't need to see for that.

Gnoblars - Good you can't go to wrong on get a unit on the board for 40pts.

Bulls - Good but drop the banner and the unit down to 4.

Ironguts - Like the others have sayed take the Warbanner.

Scraplaucner - I don't think this will help that much against Tombkings. Yes you might get lucky and kill of a Hero. Once again the Lich priest can pump there units back up. With the 165pts saved you can get another unit of bulls or 3 Ironguts. Or my Favorite and another Maneater with GW.

Maneaters - They are nasty!!!! Two of them should take out one of the Tomb Scorpion.

One unit I would add are Trappers! Don't leave home with out them, they won't win the day for you but they can disrute you enemys plans. They can help march block and take out warmachines or lone Priest but thats not likly in 7th ed. But if you ignore them they can be a pain in the side. And at 48pts there a steal they scout and are skirmishers and with 8 you get 16 shots(yes I know that won't do much but I love the look people give me when I pick up the dice), What a deal. I hope this helps have fun and let us know how things go.

although I totally agree with you on these points, I thought march blocking was not an issue vs. tomb kings as they don't march anyway.
