Ironguts, Leadbelchers and all that Jazz

Hi folks,

So after collecting dwarves and skaven for quite some time I decided on a new army for the new year. As you can probably guess I settled on some big fat Ogres. I've never run a painting blog before... I've not even taken so much as a picture of any of my painted models so I wouldn't go expecting razor sharp, pin point quality photos just yet 

So.... I got my hands on an army book, batallion and some mournfangs this month and i've started slapping the paint about. Here's my first Irongut. After taking the photos I noticed I missed a mold line on the hand  (clearly far to keen to get started)





Would love any comments on painting, or taking piccys.

So after a few evenings work I've got my first rank ever rank of Ironguts finished. 2 RnF ogres and the musician. I've decided to paint up a Mournfang as a reward to myself before I start on another rank.

Firstly, Welcome to the Stronghold

I like it! Especially the gut plates and bases look very good

But before you paint any more ogres, I'd suggest  removing the mold lines on arms and sides.
this can easily be done with Games Workshops own tool especially for this. Or if you're more of a cheapskate like me, a scalpel will do just fine.
Just lay the blade in an oblique angle pointing away from you and scrape gently towards yourself.

I keep thinking I get them all but then I notice one or two once ive painted them. Gonna be working on the lines tonight me thinks 

Been working on Mournfang number 1 the past day or so. Heres a few snap shots. Think I need a little more highlighting on his pants 





Also got my hands on an ironblaster yesterday and i've started work on my modelling my BSB. I'll post a pic when i've built him up.
