Wow, great job Lexy, the colors are really striking and vibrant. I especially like the sorceresses but can't wait to see some monsters

I can't fault the paint job, but the colours seems WAY too garish and clashing to be Elvish. But hey, whatever floats ur boat.
Surely if anyone can get away with garish it's elves
[shower with praise] That's a rgeta looking army you've got there L~exy and it's awesome to finally see som many pictures of finshed rank and file units. I'm particularly imp[ressed with how you've used colours to differentiate between four sorceress characters who are essentially identical models. The bases, as always with your work, look very interesting. The blending of yellow through red on the Hag's headdress also stood out as very well done indeed [/shower with praise]
The only thing I'd ask for is more close up pics of some of the models. The Pegusi you've already mentioned but there seems to be all kinds of great models in there that we're only getting the vaguest impression of.
Thanks Corai
Ashamed I didn't think of it before, I've renamed my Pet Gnoblar's Hannibal, Face, B.A., Murdock and Sam & Al Quincy, Doctor Sloan and Horatio

Thank you guys for your kind words
@Ghworg: I was actually bored with all the black and purple used for dark elves.
@Corai: please don't stop praising I will take occasional pictures of some models. The army has a pretty much fixed end, apart from the models I have now, I only want a Highborn on a black dragon and some harpies, and some witch elves to make the unit more effective. So when I'm done with those I can still keep the thread alive

looks like a cool army there. Tough I've to agree a bit with Ghworg. The models are not to grey, but why did you paint the side of the bases grey ? I myself like them the most in black.. but you made a grass base, so why don't paint the sides green ?
but ok, that's personal flavor I guess

Don't get me wrong its not that I don't like it. I think its the perfect tactic: who needs dark colours for camoflauge when u can just blind ur enemies instead!
2 Pet Gnoblars! I dub them Itchy and Scratchy, for reasons that are too private to divulge.

@Ghworg: what's a dark elf if he's not scheming something right
@Vargh: The grey gives a nice contrast against the green grass. So the grass looks a little brighter.

Yesterday I played against my regular ogre opponent.
I tested my planned tournament army and he trained his army for our tournament on Sunday. I had: Highborn on dragon with gauntlet of power, mystic shield of light, mundain armour. Noble on pegasus with sword of might, seal of ghrond and mundain armour. Sorceress with two scrolls.
3 units of 5 dark riders, with crossbows and musician.
5 cold one knights with full command and warbanner 5 cold one knights with full command and banner, that gives +d3 CR in first charge. 5 harpies
Warhydra
I played pretty smart actually and we both rolled very poor. For example: 5 cold one knights charge 3ironguts and a butcher and we do 3 wounds in total ( me 2 he 1)
The army was very solid and because it is faster then my original tournament army, the 4 dispell dice and 2 scrolls work pretty fine. Though I wonder, what would happen against an empire army or dwarven arm with a cannon or two.
BTW I won with 800 points difference.

Lexy, what tactics do u use with ur COK? 'Cos to me, they seem a bit too vulnerable for their points so I'm a bit dubious about using them. What do u suggest?

Depends on your opponent. Against ogres, with one line you might try just charging them. against clubs, you still have a 4+ armour save, and if you lose by one, you can still stand. Against big blocks of infantry, I use them in conjunction with dar riders or a flying monster, be that a dragon or a manticore. I usually give them full command and a warbanner, then the difference in static CR isn't too big.
Inlast game, I lost both of my banners to a stupid move of myself, but usually this is the way I use them. ( if they don't go stupid on me)

You are welcome.
I thought I'd go painting tonight, to finish my manticore, but I played badminton yesterday in stead of squash and now my wrist is all locked up.
Other stuff: Eldar I started painting my rangers. I'm putting together 3 warwalkers ( which goes fine considering my wrist) I'm still planning what weapons to give my wraithlord.
On sunday I have a tournament, where I'm taking my Khorne army.
Funny thing was, that my friends said, that I should do better then I did with my Dark elves on tournaments, if my leadershiptests didn't fail me. That was a nice remark from them.

so my eldar Blog is on the way.
I'm also rethinking my view on playing warhammer. I always played it to get in combat as soon as possible, but I'm more and more considering a more magic army with a twist. This will include 1 high sorceress and 2 sorceresses and a noble with a twist. My first idea was also a big unit of darkriders to do some damage in stead of taking it. It also has a big unit of corsairs and a unit of black guard in it, of course with the dread banner. The fluff is a bit contested considering the cauldron, but if I win a few games in tournaments with it, it's okay.

I played my first magical game yesterday. I had a level 4 and 2 level 2's a noble 2 units of dark riders a unit of spearmen a unit of corsairs 2 units of crowwbowmen (that's 6 core choices in an elven army!) a unit shades and 2 bolt throwers
I played against wood elves and he had: dragon spellsinger noble dryads 2 units of wildriders 2 units of gladeriders eternal guard waywatchers wardancers
It was a strange game: my first turn magic fase (10pd against 3 dd and a scroll) did nothing. my shooting fase how ever saw 3 units under halve of their strength. His dragon never won a combat ( due to a challenge of a courageous corsair champion to save my sorc's and word of pain on his dragon highborn after that) One of my sorceresses has a 2d6S4 spell, that was cast 6 times and came through ones ( he didn't need to dispell the other ones) one of my RBT's got in combat two times with a glade rider, and they killed both of them. The crew was killed after three rounds of fighting with a single dryad champion. My boundspell wand got through ones and died in that action.
We drawed, but I need some tweeking for this army.

I just bought a dragon. That makes my airforce the following: 3 manticores ( one highborn, one beastmaster and one undecided) 2 pegasus's (one with sorceress and one with noble/highborn. 1 dragon. That will make about 2000 points of airforce! I have to use a 4000 points game to use them all, but funny enough.

Yesterday I played a game against dwarves. Did I ever mention that I hate dwarves?
Actually it was a very hard game. he had some shooting and I had a lot of magic.
He won the game with one roll actually: I panicked with a high sorceress and a unit of corsairs. That was 600+ points for him and we ended with 900 points difference.
For 8th edition I propose one reroll on a panic or break test per game. ( am I very early for that?)
