Blood vulture sniper?

I'v seen multiple posts which reference the hunter blood vulture as having the sniper ability, and thus the potential to use with the greedy fist.  I can't find where it indicates that the vulture is anything other than a normal ranged weapon.  Where do I find the sniper reference?

Its just considered that as its a single strength 4 hit that ignores terrain with 30 inches, im trying it out tommorow, loner wizards beware :d

The blood vulture is pretty much a novelty weapon like the chain trap. It could be nice in certain situations but paying extra points for it is usually a waste. Fortunatly we get most of our novelties included in our entries, the vulture however is something we have to pay precious points for which it in most cases won't make back (unless you play against someone with multiple free range characters with low toughness and save).

When I saw the model I was hoping for the bird to add something like extra line of sight rules for the hunter or some kind of BS buff. Not to be a missile weapon that I would never use.

Right, the vulture is not a sniper. So you won't be able to use the vulture to target wizards in a unit. You can however use it to target wizards hiding the unit.

What do you mean by a wizard hiding a unit?

I fully blame Borderlands. Someone who had the ear of the writers, or one of them, played a "Hunter" in Borderlands and went, "Hey, that bird thing power of his is pretty cool. Maybe we should give that to -our- Hunter."

The only good thing about the bird in Borderlands was you could set it on fire and attack people with a flying, flaming bird.
