Maneater Rpg

original thread ↗

I know I've posted this before.... Kind of

But I feel there is some one who would do this.

An rpg where five to six people play a as a group of Maneater ogre's adeventuring around doing jobs and gaining glory while playing by post.

I can take six people whoever wants to play needs to supply
A name for there ogre
skills
weapons
and description how he looks

Skills can be like from the Been there done that or general skill like stealth or brawling

on the other hand

You can disscuss in this thread to make a system and rules for a man eater rpg

but if you decide to play we will do it free form with some dice rolling generators on the net
It would be great if you could join!

Count me in, sounds great.

A name for there ogre: Long Dong Brasstooth
skills: Sniper & poison, but also sailing, knowledge of the sea, appraisal, negotiation (aggressive or otherwise) and intimidate.
weapons: A brace of pistols, a cutlass & a couple of throwin' gnoblars!
and description how he looks: A fairly standard looking ogre, an oversized pirate hat, long fur lined coat, various money pouches and treasure chests hung off belts and chains & an eyepatch that switches eyes occasionally.
General bits about my character: Good at negotiating mercenary contracts, good at working out the value of booty, good at sailing and knowing about the sea and coast & much more intelligent than the average ogre.

well this disappointing....

If no one joins up it'll just be 2 maneaters..... the unit size is 3+ people!
8th edition Win/loss/tie ratio: 6/1/1

First we beat 'em. Then we eat ’em.
How would this work, and what would I need to do ? It sounds fun but I'm a bit unsure on some of the details.
Well mostly it's like this.
I set out the story using words and descriptions and send you off on fantastical adventures through the old world.
You interact with characters and your party of maneaters while I talk as the head Maneater and as enemies and NPC's.

Using from a determined set of stats set by using from a modified version of the stats of the wargame you will roll out skill checks using a six sided dice generator . The lower the result below your stat the greater your success. The harder the task the more dice you have to roll.

Stats:

WS BS S T In(telligence) W I(initiative) C(harsima) Will

I will determine your stats determined by your characters description and skills.

Hope this clears things up.

Drok Elfeater
Drok loves Elven meat. Sure them are skinny and all, but its the fairest meat in the wide world, it just smelts on yer tongue! That is why Drok has set out on a young age as a maneater in search of Elflings. He even got some training from his Uncle Drak, a local hunter, who taught him how to be as sneaky as an Elf...well, not really, but as sneaky as an Ogre can be! Since then Drok hunts Elves of any kind and over the years has gotten pretty good at it too! His diet of Elven flesh however has denied him the size of Gut an Ogre his age should have however and allthough he is still as strong as a bull, he is somewhat leaner and agile then other Maneaters he encounters and somewhat less tough. (higher Dex/Initiative perhaps and somewhat lower Toughness to reflect his Elven specialty?)

Skills
Swiftstride (those Elflings are fast)
Scout (And sneaky too!)

Weapons
2 handweapons (1 Dark Elf Draich / 1 High Elf White Lion Axe)
2 Dark Elf repeater crossbows (instead of pistols)

Armour
A varied collection of Elven armour and equipment, including Sea dragon cloaks, White lion pelts, Dragon armour and a piece of Druchii jewelry even Droks body could not digest (Pendant of Kealeth)

Ogre Achievements: 20 / 101
I may as well join in, it sounds like it could be fun.

A name for there ogre :
Two-saw Sea-saw, the sound of fury, or in most cases bells in his flails.
skills :
Swiftstride, Sniper
weapons :
Two pistols and chains around his fists. He also has two flails with bells in so they sound fun when they are swung around.
and description how he looks :
He once fought a bear and has the skull of the bear as a helmet. He has a bear claw scar running down his back, as when the bear first met him it tried to mate with him. He wears a cuirass and has a pair of bracers with the bear's claws tied to them.

On his feet he wears a pair of used boots . He also wears a a cloak made from the bear on his back, and a pair of sandals he got from Tilea, as well as trousers made from the skin of a really annoying halfling who had a flute. The flute was kept as a momento but is stained with the blood of the halflings. The flute hangs from his leather belt, as well as other momentos he has gained from his travels.

His face is old and weathered, with a long and shaggy beard, with long and thinning hair which is geying. He once went to pray to the Fire Mountain, but some lava erupted from the ground and scarred his face, blinding him in one eye which is why he wears an eyepatch.

He also is very literate and has a book which he likes to write one liners in so when he kills someone of important he can say something cool.

Ya I'd be down.  Actually messaged you about this a few days ago and again a few minutes ago before seeing this tread.

Could I join your epic adventure? My name would be Olag Thundersnow,I would have skills in 2 handed weapons, such as great weapons, and a good blacksmithing skill. My weapons would include a giant halberd and some real heavy armor.I would be bald(as most ogres are)and have a HUGE full beard.
I'm in!

Name
Dayne Demongut the Betrayed

Skills
Stubborn, Immune to Psychology. Other attributes: calm, logical, natural leader, loyal, tactical, experienced, immune to cold and demonic strength.

Equipment
Great weapon and heavy armor, for rule purposes. As I'll describe in the looks description, just heavy armor and a great weapon is not the entire truth.

Looks
As his entire tribe, from living on the cold blizzardpeak, the prescence of chaos and the harsh weather has hardened his skin, which has turned light blue. Also, as his chaos resistance is weakened by the weather, demonic wings has grewn out of his back. In addition, the chaotic transformation has granted him demonic strenth, enabling him to carry his 2 giant blades, one in each hand, blades that would normally require two hands each to carry. His gut is average size, and he carries a helmet to cover his face. No ogre really knows why, some claim that the transformation has rendered his face.

If I forgot anything I'll fill it in.

PM me when the RP starts ^^

Regards
Danne

Man I wish I read this sooner. Oh well I will likely not have the time to do this any way with work in the way.

I hope you post how this work out.
I'm posting so that I can read it with the "show new replies to your post" button, because this idea looks very awesome. I'm a huge fan of D&D and d20 system games, so I really enjoy the idea.

Like overlordofnobodies, I wish I had known about this sooner, I would have join in!

If this plays out well, I would love to see a compilation of the various skills and "feats" that will be designated for this system; also, do you plan on it being a d20 setup or will it be a pure d6 setup like Warhammer proper?

If there is room for a future game (or if people die/drop out of this one), I'd be more than happy to join; for now, though, 6 is more than enough lol...

New book WLD: 21/11/3 - Got trounced by one of the "Khaine" elf armies... Stupid new rules...

Name: Morzokk Goldjaw

Skills: Poisoned Attacks, Swiftstride

Weapons: Greatweapons, Dual 1 handed weapons, Blowpipe

Gear: Light armor consisting of gold plates on his thighs, upper arms, and lower arms. A helmet made of a large kroxigors skull whose lower jaw is encased in gold. As well as a golden gutplate.

Background:  Morzokk has traveled most of the Old World and have fought for most every thingling tribe there is.  Always leaving the current tribe for a new one if given mass riches and great weaponry during his post battle feast.  He has never fought for the armies of chaos however.  Though he does appreciate their prowess on the battlefield, he has always had a feeling from the very core of himself to keep his distance. His most recent thinling tribe were the blue skins of Lustria.  He joined them after a mutual agreement (and mass riches) between himself and the slann priest.  The slann priest was most impressed with Morzokk's display in battle as he bested his finest and most acclaimed kroxigor.  Morzokk certainly appreciated the nod, as well as the riches, but mainly decided to take arms with the blue thinlings due to how impressed he was with the priests use of magic.  Of the weapons the blue thinlings had, Morzokk was most impressed with the blowgun.  He requested that one be made specifically for him.  The blue thinglings certainly did not mind creating such a weapon.  As the amount of poison that can be held within a single dart of Morzokk's blowgun can render even the most monstorus enemy useless.  Over time Morzokk realized the blue thinglings mutual displeasure with the forces of chaos which further strengthen there commitment to one another.  It is because of this when he left the blue skins it was not after a batlle, but after a meeting with the slann priest that recruited him.  Morzokk explained of the draw the Great Maw had on him.  How he had felt it his entire life but disregarded it as there was always another battle to be fought and a greated tribe to be part of.  However, after year and years of butchering anything that came to the doorstep of Lustria. Realizing that no other thinling tribe was more deserving of his talents. He felt it was time to leave and satisy the hunger of the Great Maw.

The fire crackles and dances in front of your eyes. The woods are quiet, serene almost the night animals are weary though. For in these woods lies one of the most dangerous predators in the world.

Here come closer.... Closer.... Good you see those.... Yes, the fire. What are those things you ask? Ogre's you daft ninny! They're man eaters! What? No! No! not literally.... I hope.... They're mercenaries for hire! Don't trust the bloody things my self.... No! don't run! that's why I need you! We are going to get the villagers and drive these monsters out! Now we- MMMPH!

Drok Tied the stupid thinlings up and tossed them in a sack. He smiles with satisfaction. "Now that." he thinks "is sneaky."

He walks back to camp where the rest of his comrades were, even though they have worked togehter only a short time he felt they were brothers of the same tribe. The two sacks struggled as he reminisced.

Two saw looks up and motions towards the sacks. The rest of the Ogres Giltrunner, Long Dong, Olag, Dayne and Morzokk  licked there lips and set about to prepare the meat.

The woods are now filled with screaming, you see, the title "maneaters" is very misleading.

"I think, it is a map to a Bretonian city, there are some weird words, REBel, DMAn them, Eating, Babies. Possible that those poncy thinlings are trying to start some sort of revolution, I hear every year all their knights go off on some fasting and praying thing to their god, some moisten bint. For some reason every year some peasent gets it in his head he can take advantage of this and lead some sort of revolution, normally the city watch keeps them under check until the knights get back then the knights take care of it, quick and bloody like, know what I mean? Dough, as I suggested, we should check out the ice pass later when we have enough suppliments for the long march. As for the scouting, even dough I'm heavy, I can hover over the village to check for possible resistance, pr should I say food?"

OOC: I forgot to mention that I'm able to fly. I mentioned the wings, not being able to fly though.

(ooc: Danne, I tried to make clear that Drok did specivically NOT insult Dayne, he gives him the creeps and Drok is very carefull aound him. The insult was against Flim Flams character )

Drok nods at Daynes outburst at him and as he sees Brasstooth taking the lead he turns quickly and jogs past him in the direction to the village. Looking briefly at Brasstooth he says:

"Just follow my footprints in the snow.."

He then jogs on and disapears quickly into the forest. After having created a short distance between himself and the group he slows down, checks his repeater crossbows and scouts ahead, taking in his surroundings carefully as he moves on towards the village.

The village seems to be asleep.

A rundown and molding wooden fence surrounds it, with a guard sleeping, a torch lit above his head.

There is no sounds besides his snoring.

"Right den, just shoot de thinling with yer crossbow. Silent and smooth. Den we approach."

As Drok watches to town for some time awaiting the arrival of the others he checks his crossbows again, then his Draich and Great Axe, places them in their holder and picking his crossbows up again, waiting for Long Drong to appear.

This will be easy. Sometimes Humans seem as dumb as Ogres

As Brasstooth comes up with the others, Drok whispers something to him and then waits for Dayne to arrive.

Brasstooth quietly moves up behind drok and draws an oversized pistol in each hand.

Two-saw stays back, knowing full well that if he goes ahead with the rest of them his flails will jangle and he could alert more people. Instead he loads his pistols is case more people arrive . He then makes a hand gesture to Drok to take out the guard silently.
"Looks like the old man decided to wake up..." Gilt grumble's He hands Thundersnow a torso of human.
"We're waiting for them ta scout it out" he remarks "Eat, you will need it...."

OOC: Drok make an initiative check to stealthily kill the guard.

Brasstooth unloads with both pistols into the elves in the trees (rolled 1) then draws his duel poisoned cutlasses and charges the treemen.

After looting one of the dead mercenaries the Baron hired, Two - saw pulls out a knife and cuts the head of a dead mercenary soldier. He then gets all the gunpower he looted off the dead mercenaries and rams it up the nose of the head in his hand, along with fragments of metal. Afterwards he puts some fuses up the nose of the head and lights the fuse. He then throws the head in the direction of the enemy and says :

"Need a hand anyones, well I've just given dem a head ."
Long dong begins to cut into the legs of the Tremen as they howl in rage. And the wood elf archers know what they are doing are arep erfectly hidden amongst the branches of the treemen.

The head flys into the mass of mercnaries and lands at Gilts feet!
"YER BLOODY BASTARD ARE YAH TRYING TAH KILL ME!?"  Gilt roars in disgust he kicks the makeshift bomb (result 1 and 4) The head explodes and scatters over the area killing some mercenaries  killing some elves from the shrapnel and seriously pissing off the tree men.

Bolg growls and getting a bit sick of the hail of arrows coming at them despite the tree tops where they were being set on fire grabbed into a bag grabbing bits of bone and femurs and the like and shoved a huge handful into his large mouth, his jowels jiggling some as he did. Narrowing his eyes he waited till he saw some of them and bit down hard crunching the bones in his mouth while closing his hand held out towards them into a fist. Occ: sorry hard to keep up with these replies.

The fire in treemen was put out by the elves and one of treemen is stunned from daynes blow to the head it wobbles back and forth unceratinly.

And due to the explosion there are only a few elves left in the trees. Not to mention the spell.

(ooc: those Elves are putting out fires, and shooting in the branches of a treeman that is in combat himself and moving around, yet still Drok has not been able to spot a single one of them? Those are some hardcore elves...)

Not intending to waste his sharp blades on a tree, Drok lets the others press the attack. He stands and scans his surrounding for any other threads beside the Treeman.
