Welcome to the Stronghold Matt.
The army looks good. The blood and basing are particularly well done.

Thank you, I try to get better....
Well done-Some great images and ideas there-Really like the dark skinned Ogre and the lance/spear on the Hunter type.
Thanks for your comment,

I've also tried to make the skin in a dirty look.
I don't like the new GW Colour Theme, their Ogres are awesome painted but they look like fresh showered and not like a fighting Tribe.
Looking good although I prefer GWs style with the "newly showered skin" but I like your idea and execution. Love that gnoblar in the leadbelcher cannon

Thanks for your comment Umbadung.
Oh yes i love this little Gnoblar, too.
Yes the GW Skin theme is very well painted, but I remember the time when Ogres had this blue/grey skin^^.
I'm not able to paint skin so well like the GW Team.
It's just my style.

I hope to add some new Bull pics next week. (If i could spend some time for my hobby^^)

C u Matt ;)
Very nice!  I love the conversions (especially in the first shot, with the Khemrian, Orcy, and Keslev-themed Maneaters, VERY creative!), and I really like the basing as well!  How did you create the puddles?  Water effects/Gloss Varnish over Charadon Granite?  Would love to try your technique out.

to warboss tae,

thanks for your comment. itS nice that you like the maneaters, i plan some new conversions because 20 Euro for an Finecast maneater is not cheap^^.
to the puddels (please forgive my bad english), as first i use scorched brown, then a 1:1 mix of scorched brown and catachan green, followed by catachan green....a 1:1 mix of catachan green and bleached bone. before the finish with gloss varnish(2 or 3 times) i use some washes(devlan mud) thats all^^

here are some other pics before i'll start to finish some new minis

thanx matt
Awesome bruiser and that "puddle effect" is indeed cool.

thanks umbadung,

the bruiser is not a great conversion, but i think he is ok.....damn i need a new mini for my ironblaster!!!!

i've tried to make some other bases as i've still created for my high elves, space wolves, dark eldar and all the other stuff

c u at the stronhold
Doesn't need to be a great conversion as long as he looks badass, and he does!   8) Also, maybe you should get some white like a paper behind your minis when you take the picture. Right now the camera seems to focus the paint pots rather than those models, especially clear at the first picture of the bruiser.

i hope i can finish the rest of my tribe in the next 3 months. sounds like a lot of time, but my little daugther needs her daddy^^. this weekend i'll start my 6 man bulls unit.
Pics will follow.

BAHAHAHAHA!!!
those gnoblars are hilarious! Especially the one dressed like a skink!
The painting absolutely brilliant!

I'll be posting my nearly painted army soon aon a gnoblog so you just gave me ideas!

You deserve a gnoblar!

@ gantherogue

thank u for your kind words
i like this little gnoblars
i add sme more to my bulls and irongutsunit after finishing my next bulls unit
i had a idea for my gnoblar unit, the boss is walking on stilts with giant feet through the whole unit
sounds that good t you???
Yah that's awesome! If you have modeling experience you could have some crawling on the stilts trying to get his shiny bits!
And one trying to set the stilts on fire if you have a torch bearing gnoblar.

You are going to far me bucko! Real far!

:D

you make me laugh...
i will send u some pics after the conversion
i have gnoblar with a trch a the 1st picture of my leadbelchers he is trying to set the powder barrel n fire (he is hiding behind the guy in the middle)
Happy weekend it't time for my WIP report
this weekend i've started my bull with additional handweapon, they are half way done

YAR HAR rum and a mast!

Do what you want cause a pirate is free you are a pirate! (Ogre)

nice one! Really like them. I may have to use some of your scheme when I paint my own ogres. Just stuff like trousers mind. Got a very particular idea.

Also thanks for your feedback on my own blog, much appreciate it.
"There is no more art, there is no more point, there is only repetition..."
The Butcher turned out well! The Chaos Knight mace makes for an interesting and well-placed bit, because it turns the staff into a weapon. Also loving your dirty paint scheme, Ogres should be dirty! (Even if my own are not.  :glol:)
The Kislev Maneater is also great, as is the dark skin on the Lustria one. Keep it up, I'd love to see a Nurgle Maneater!

The whole army looks awsome. I like the way it is painted, I'm going to use it as a reference for mine because I haven't painted it yet. The hunter is a good idea (I was also thinking of doing it, tough I have never used one :D), it looks awesome and you only use some parts of the TT/SH and a body. I say the same about the maneaters, home made and really nice. I'm waiting to see how the TT/SH looks!!
Keep it up like that!
@ Dlortae Daggerhand: thanx for your kind words, can't wait to see more of your army
i will have an eye on your blog looks interesting

@Morkash: I apreciate your comment i hope i find the time to finish the butcher in the next week (because my bulls unit is still WIP)
if this is finished i will start the next Maneater conversions (Nurgle for sure...Knight and Pirate not so sure yet^^). i will follow the story of your tribe

@Skragy: thank u for so much compliments...the Hunter was an easy conversion with the parts of the sh/Td because i don't wanted a hunter on a stonehorn (at this time) and the new charakter models are to expensive, the same with the maneaters 20 Euro for one mini???no way
i will try to paint the Thunderdusk after i have finished my bulls unit, the butcher and the nurgle maneater.

thanks to all of you, your comments make me happy and hungry for finished minis  :D

Matt
@Ghunter thank your for your comment...the flesh part of the rhinox is very simple tallarn flesh, a 1:1 mix of tallarn flesh&elf flesh, highlightet with fortress grey and finished with devlan mud. thats all
hope that would help you.

@morkash thanx for being back again and for taking a few minutes to watch my gnoblog, i know that you are really busy. also thanx for your kind words hope to make some new posts after my vacation (berlin is calling)...any idea for a maneater conversion???

and so the story of the warhorse tribe continues....and the story of Meldun Wilfriedsons Mordheim Dwarven Band begins in April^^

thanx to all who take a few minutes to watch my blog

Matt
Lookin´good!

Very nice weathering effects on that cannon. Do you use some kind of rust powder that I hear so many people talk about, or is it "just" colour?? :)

Hey my friends, it ttook a lot of time but i'm back^^ or to say it right i have a new laptop after my old had a crash.
i hope to upload new ogre pics at the end of the week, I have also started my Mordheim Dwarven Band. i will also start a new blog this week.

@Omaeshin: the rust effect is like all of my techniques...very simple.i use TIN BITS at basecolour, i "dab"(not drybrush) some RED GORE (just a little bit) with a dry paintbrush, then i add some FIERY ORANGE at the same way. at last i make some highlights with CHAINMAIL. thats all, simple but it works (for me)

bye matt
Really impressed with the cannon, I have to paint it like that!  :>D The other things are also impressive of course. Keep up the good work!

hope you like him

feel free to leave some critism or a friendly comment

it feels good to be back again

Matt
all of your stuff looks incredible ! the conversions the painting everything ! mabey one day ill be this good (ogres can dream right ?) if i had to choose something to point out tho it would be the finger nails on your butcher they are abit too clean :/ mabey a quick dab of devlan mud and all will be well :) but apart from that i cannot find anything wrong with this amazing army, cant wait to see more !
we are da executors for a reason you stand in our way ... you die hahaha
Hehe, I can imagine that Mass Effect 3 is time consuming! Haven't had the change to pick it up yet (jep, still exams, but as good as done now )

Standardbearer comes along nicely, your metals look great (especially the helmet) and the pants are a nice contrast to the dark skin! Are you going to use one of the usual standard or are you converting something? :)

@the executer, thanx for your friendly comment, i was on your blog and your work looks great, too. thanx for the idea for the butcher, i've watched the picture again and you are right, i will finish the nails with some devlan mud

@morkash hey buddy good luck for your exams, yes me3 needs a lot of "time"^^
i will use the standard from the mournfan cavalery and hope this will work, at first i had they idea to make a conversion with stonehorn "horn" but i think this is too much... need some inspiration for the tyrant, i also have to finish my ironblaster, damn....also have plans for a 40k sm army basing on scibors lions minis with some conversion
(i know noone here likes it) a lot of work^^

have a great time, both of you
