Anyone playing or planning to play it?


I got my box preordered, and waiting on early access.... I loved Star Wars Galaxies, and so far i enjoyed SWTOR's beta, so there's high hope for that one...

My current computer cannot play games,so I am waiting till boxing day to get myself a new one, then I am picking it up and joining my friends,
I am worried though, I have never found an MMO that can hold my attention past level 10... Idon't want to get this all set up then have it get boring.

I doubt this one will be very different.

I was really hooked on SWG for a long time, but eventually lost interest. Since then, I have tried Conan, Everquest 2, Guild Wars, Lord of the Rings, some random free Korean games, World of Warcraft, Warhammer Online, D&D online...

Since WoW came out, they all seem like the same game in a different wrapper. I'm guessing this game may be the same, but I am trying it out. I preordered, so I am hoping to get access sometime this week.

everything is the same as far as i can remember playing MMORPG... back in 2001 i believe.

Even before that, there was Ultima Online, which everyone based their game on.

And even before that, there was BBS mmo...

I completely agree, although I think there were some elements from older games that have been left in the dust.

IMO, the crafting systems from other games (SWG, Ultima) was far more superior to today's games. SWG had a player-driven economy (rather than a loot-based economy), player built/run cities, etc. Character creation was much more in-depth.

WoW improved upon a lot of issues that SWG had (crappy questing system comes to mind) but left out a lot of neat features - features that no other MMORPG has picked up.

Also, since WoW, the RPG from MMORPG has been pretty much been left in the dust.

Pre loaded just waiting for my early game invite.  Hopeing to start tomorrow, as it looks unlikely I will be starting tonight but you never know!

I think what will set this game apart is the dialogue options for a more story driven game. That was something I hated about the other mmos is all the reading. I hardly get any time to play a video game, I don't want to spend half of it reading...
My friend who has played WoW for years has played the star wars beta a couple times and says it is much more enjoyable. again, I have not have a hands on, but I think this will be good.
Besides, if it's not, it's not like I dumped a huge investment into it *cough*warhammer*cough*

I am preloaded and ready to go.  After beta testing for a little while I have to say that I have high hopes for this game.  It was a lot of fun and I really enjoy the dialog options and progressive stories.  It's really a shame that WAR did not live up to its potential.

Level 13 now and simply loving it!  Really in depth game and the story modes and conversations really make it stand apart from other mmo's a lot!

As of last night I have a 24 Sith Juggernaut and 11 Sniper. I beta tested and got in on the second day of Early Access and am loving every minute of it. Best MMO I've played yet.

lvl23.... so far, so good. still not 100% sold on the whole thing, but its nice.

crafting, while simple, still has some interest.

Ya I recently quit WoW and raiding as a whole after 3 years straight of it two nights a week.  I just can't justify the time anymore.  So for me to play SWTOR long term, its going to live and die with Huttball.  Haven't played it yet but the premise seems interesting. Otherwise once I hit 50, I'm probably canceling my account.

I finally got my new PC up and running and I am in the game.

i'm really enjoying the game still, but a little less now, i don't know why. Some things that kinda turns me off and turn the game into another "pick up quest and do them without reading anything" is the many alien race that does not speak english. The first few are fun, but after awhile you just feel like skipping their speech altogether.

Bioware has been doing teh whole "diolouge wheel" forever. It was interesting and fun with many of their games, but I think they need to come up with a new speech mechanic other then:
