Help with a couple house rules please

So for the most part I really enjoy the new ogre army book but theres a few things that bother me a bit. Firstly is it just me or are the siegebreaker and thundermace horrendously overcosted? Anyways I've got my friends ok to bring them down to a more reasonable price point just not quite sure what that is. I don't want to be unfair I'd just like to be able to actually use these weapons once in a blue moon especially since the siegebreaker use to be my favorite and I included it in most lists.

 The other thing is lack of cathayan longswords. I gotta say I was a lil dissapointed they took them away in the first place. What in your guys opinion would be a fair price to have them on my maneaters. Thanks for the help

Hrm, about the siegebreaker and thundermace its hard to point a point value on them since they are sooooo situational. Never really liked the thundermace in 7th. Its a bit better now in 8th so I think its actually about the right cost. Even though I would never use it. One miss when throwing down the template and the tyrant/SM does nothing. Maybe a 15p reduction since its the same as 7th but a bit better since the template hits all it touches nowadays.

Siegebreaker.... well... no opinion on that. I think its horrible unless maybe when playing storm of magic since there you are certain you can go up against people in buildings. However its a bit costly now I agree. 20p off maybe?

On the cathayans. These are monstrously good in 8th. +1 WS is ok on a maneater bringing it up to WS 5 so it can hit most elite infantry on 3+. Armor piercing is also nice, bringing up the maneaters to irongut territory without ASL. +1 I is another story, that is freakishly good. Bringing the I up to 4 and you are pretty much guaranteed to go before all other ogre sized infantry. On a maneater with 4 S5 attacks this is a nasty weapon. I would easily put it at 10p or even more. Im also bummed they took it out but I figure for a good reason.

If you want to houserule Cathyan longsword then I would probably go for at least 10pt, maybe even as high as 15pts. 

As mentioned before that +1 I on maneaters is crazy, it let's you strike before most common infantry and it lets you strike at the same time as a lot of other elite stuff like bloodknights before you lose any attacks from them killing you.

For monstrous infantry to strike at the same time as elite cavalry at S5 with AP is a real buzzkill for the enemy, as cavalry with I4 and lances is probably one of the best ways of dealing with maneaters and still have a unit afterwards to help somewhere else.

P.S. I'm pretty bummed out about the longsword as well, but I know why they took it out.  I only hoped they would at least keep it for characters (alas not)
