Sazzel Tomb Kings v forgottenlor Ogres (2500)

original thread ↗

Ok forgottenlor, here's my list:

Lvl 4 Liche High Priest (Hierophant)
          Lore of Nehekhara
          Cloak of the Dunes
Tomb Prince w/ Great Weapon (General)
Tomb Prince w/ Great Weapon
Lvl 2 Liche Priest w/ Lore of Nehekhara
Necrotect

40 Skeleton Warriors w/ Spears, Light Armour, Shields, and Full Command
46 Skeleton Warriors w/ HW's, Light Armour, Shields, and Full Command
46 Skeleton Warriors w/ HW's, Light Armour, Shields, and Full Command
25 Skeleton Archers w/ Musician
25 Skeleton Archers w/ Musician

4 Ushabti
3 Sepulchral Stalkers
Tomb Scorpion

Necrolith Collosus w/ Additional Hand Weapon
Screaming Skull Catapult w/ Skulls of the Foes

Points: 2488

Feel free to roll for the battle type, but you can also just choose one if you want.

You could also just pick all the terrain yourself and set up the map. I just want to have some fun, so am not overly concerned with winning. I prefer not to have too many 'crazy' terrain pieces with special rules though.
Here is my list

Slaughtermaster, Lvl 4. Fencing blades, Talisman of Endurance, Earthling Rod.
Bruiser, BSB, Crown of Command, HA, Dragon Helm, IF,
Hunter, GW, Armour of Destiny, Stonehorn.

10 Ironguts, Command, Look out Gnoblar, Standard of Discipline
6 Ogres, Ironfist, Musician
4 Mournfang Riders, Command, HA, IF, Gleaming Pendant
3 Maneaters, Scout, ITP, XHW, Musician
3 Yhetees
3 Yhetees
Sabretusk
Sabretusk
Sabretusk

2493

Let's just play a standard battle.  I'll create a map later. I'm also against crazy stuff as I loose track of it during the course of a game. :)

Looks great. Standard rolling is fine.

Rolling for deployment (Tomb Kings are first, Ogres second in the list, this will continue to be the case when doing rolls from my perspective):
Rolling "1d6" 2 times

1: 2
2: 6

Looks like you get to pick your side.

I'll roll for my spells now-
Hierophant gets:
Rolling "1d6" 4 times

1: 2
2: 4
3: 5
4: 1

I will swap out the (2) for the Signature Spell, so my Hierophant ends up with:
(Sig) Incantation of the Desert Wind
(1) Incantation of Cursed Blades
(4) Incantation of Vengeance
(5) Incantation of Dessication

Now for my Lvl 2 Priest:
Rolling "1d6" 2 times

1: 5
2: 2

I will swap out the (2) for the Signature spell, so he ends up with:
(Sig) Incantation of the Desert Wind
(5) Incantation of Dessication

You can find the updated BC file with my army in at at http://zendwarf.com/bc/TKVSOGRES.xml

Guess you need to roll for spells, pick a side, and roll to see who deploys first.
Ok rolling for spells:

Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

2 + 6 + 1 + 1 = 10

I've got Bullgorger, Bonecrusher, and  The Maw. With my double's I'll take Troll Guts. Since I've always substituted out the Maw, I'll give it a go this game, just for fun. So I'll switch out Bonecrusher for Spinemarrow.

So:Spinemarrow, Bullgorger, Troll Guts, The Maw.

I'll take the top and deploy a Sabretusk first.

BTW: Both of your priests have Dessication, which I don't think is possible. You can't have a double of any spell except the signature spell, correct?

Not nearly as long as the Stonehorn, what with that monster getting halved multiple wounds. I was looking at their rules, and missile hits are 1-4 Stonehorn and 5-6 Hunter right? While my SSC would hit the Stonehorn on a 1-3 and the Hunter on a 4-6?

Deployed my SSC.

No, the Maneaters can't charge. Here is my movement.

Magic dice:

Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

5 + 4 = 9

Channelling:

Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

4

nope, so 9 dice for me. I'll trow 5 dice on Troll Guts, the big version, so all units within 12 of the Slaughtermaster:

Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

3 + 2 + 6 + 2 + 5 = 18

Gets off on a 22. Dispel?

Channeling dispel dice:
Rolling "1d6" 2 times

1: 5
2: 2

Nope, so only 5 dispel dice, but that boosted Trollguts could be not so nice. I'll try to dispel it with all my dispel dice (High Liche Priest doing the dispelling):
Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

4 + 6 + 2 + 2 + 3 = 17

Crap, a 21, so close!

This is looking bad for me.   :(

Do not have any dispel dice left so go ahead and do your worst.  :P
Ok, I'm going to try to cast the Maw with my last 4 dice on the back line of archers S1 just in front of unit SW3. Should it actually work, I'll post the picture:

Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

5 + 1 + 2 + 5 = 13

18 with the bonus for the last spell. So it gets off

Artillery dice 1-12 is direction (like on a clock, 13-18 is a hit, 19-20 reroll)
Result of the throw of dice "1d20" :
11

scatter dice: (6 is a misfire or else the distace is doubled.
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

5

so 10 inches at 11 o'clock, which means nothing is hit, but my Sabretusk is sweating.

That ends the magic phase.

The Ironguts, the Hunter, Ogres, Sabretusk 3, and Yhetees 1 are affected by Troll Guts. Over to you.

Ok, no charges. Basically most everybody is shifting around a bit. For some reason I am finding the wheeling in Battle Chronicler to no longer be working properly, which is very annoying, it used to wheel exactly 1" I am pretty sure, but now appears to be doing a fixed degree wheel.   :o

Movements of note:

My Ushabti were within normal move range of the nearby building, and so have moved up and garrisoned it.

My Hierophant decided to fly over and join the SSC.

My warrior unit (SW2), is going to attempt a swift reform, they have a Tomb Prince with them so that is a LD 9 test:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

2 + 5 = 7

Great! they succeed, and use the swift reform to rotate in place to the left. Since they succeeded they also get to make a normal move, and so will back up a couple inches.

Next I will post the magic phase.

http://zendwarf.com/bc/1/TKVSOGRES.xml

Ok, rolling for the Winds of Magic:
Rolling "1d6" 2 times

1: 3
2: 5

And now for channeling:
Rolling "1d6" 2 times

1: 4
2: 6

Aha! So 9 Power Dice for me, and 5-6 Dispel Dice for you depending on whether you channel dispel dice successfully or not.

I'll start it off by trying to cast Incantation of Righteous Smiting w/ my Liche Priest on 3 dice:
Rolling "3d6" 2 times

1: 1 + 2 + 4 = 7
2: 6 + 3 + 6 = 15

Accidentally rolled it twice there >.< but will take the first result of course as that was my intent. Still got it off though, although barely, on a 9.

Dispel?
Channeling:

http://www.ogrestronghold.com/forum/index.php?topic=22397.msg303186#new
Yep. I'll be attacking your Ironguts w/ my SSC initially, then the rest depends on whether I get their regen off. At exactly what position is your BSB in that Irongut unit? I am guessing second row, one file from your 'left' flank.

Also, would you like me to do all the rolls to speed things along? I am fine with just doing it sequentially like the magic phase if you like.
Your guess about the position of my BSB is correct. I have no problem with you making all the rolls at once, or making the rolls for multiple units. You may decide at some point that you want to pause for going on. For example, if you decide you need me to make armour saves or panic checks before shooting with the next unit. If so you can roll till that point and I'll make my rolls, then we can continue.

http://www.ogrestronghold.com/forum/index.php?topic=22397.msg303186#new
Ok, my SSC is firing with the location on your BSB with best model coverage. Now I will roll a d6 for the Scatter die, where 1-4 is a scatter, and 5-6 a hit, then a d6 for Artillery, where 1=Misfire, 2=2", 3=4", 4="6", 5=8", and 6=10". I will roll a d360 later if there is a scatter:
Rolling "1d6" 2 times

1: 3
2: 6

Hurrumpphh...Scatter 10" for how many degrees clockwise from up?
Result of the throw of dice "1d360" :

208
So that is roughly South-South-West if you consider 'Up' North.
...and it's a dud...

Ok, now the 25 Skeleton Archers (SA1) will have a go at trying to kill your rabid regenerating Sabretusk in the middle. You can see according to the 24" ruler placed in the pic above, that that Sabretusk is out of the firing arc for my rightmost two archers. So 23 shots at 5+ to hit, Strength 3:
Result of the throw of dice "23d6" :

6 + 3 + 2 + 5 + 5 + 2 + 4 + 4 + 5 + 1 + 2 + 3 + 3 + 1 + 4 + 2 + 4 + 6 + 5 + 5 + 5 + 2 + 4 = 83

That's 8 hits, totally average, at 5+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "8d6" :

6 + 2 + 6 + 1 + 3 + 3 + 1 + 6 = 28

Three wounds, and you get a 4+ Regen save against each:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

1 + 2 + 2 = 5

Aha! Something goes my way. Such a waste of shots though for just one Sabretusk.

Now, my last set of shooting, my 25 Skeleton Archers (SA2) that got boosted by magic get to make two shots, for a total of 50 at 5+ to hit. I was gonna shoot your Ironguts if I got the Regeneration off them, but might as well go for broke and try to get your Stonehorn/Hunter (even though they have Regeneration too  ).

Ok 50 at 5+ at your Stonehorn/Hunter:
Result of the throw of dice "50d6" :

6 + 2 + 2 + 4 + 1 + 2 + 5 + 6 + 3 + 2 + 3 + 5 + 2 + 1 + 2 + 6 + 5 + 5 + 2 + 5 + 2 + 6 + 6 + 1 + 3 + 1 + 6 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 5 + 4 + 5 + 1 + 6 + 3 + 3 + 1 + 2 + 6 + 4 + 1 + 6 + 5 + 5 + 5 + 3 + 4 + 1 = 169

Hmm...that's 19 hits, not bad....now randomized where 1-4 is the Stonehorn, and 5-6 the Hunter:
Result of the throw of dice "19d6" :

3 + 6 + 2 + 1 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 3 + 2 + 2 + 3 + 2 + 3 + 1 + 5 + 3 + 1 + 6 + 5 = 55

So....looks like 5 on the Hunter and 14 on the Stonehorn. I will roll for wounds for each, then leave the armour saves and regen saves to you, and then your turn, as I do not think there is anything left for me/us to do this turn unless I am mistaken (no panic tests or anything). I figure your armour save on the Hunter is 3+ due to the Magic Armour and being mounted, and your Stonehorn has a 4+ save.

5 to wound rolls, Strength 3 v. T 5, on the Hunter, 6+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

1 + 6 + 1 + 6 + 4 = 18

Looks like two wounds to save..easy enough for him.

14 to wound rolls, Strength 3 v. T6, on the Stonehorn, 6+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "14d6" :

5 + 1 + 4 + 3 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 6 + 2 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 3 + 6 = 44

Meh...only two wounds.

At least I got that Sabretusk, First Blood! ............

http://zendwarf.com/bc/1/TKVSOGRES.xml

On to you.
Sazzel if you find it easier how about you use a d18 for scatter where 1-12 is a scatter in the direction of a clockface and 13-18 is a hit.
Yea...but degrees are more fun! You're right though, it would be easier.

forgottenlor, now that I think of it, I think that killed Sabretusk was within 6" of at least the Ironguts, and probably the Stonehorn. Unless they are Immune to Psychology, I think they need to take Panic tests.

Hmm...it would be very fortuitous for me if even one failed.

Was thinking about that Sabretusk hitting my SSC, and thought about the fact that Warbeasts fear enemies w/ Flaming Attacks. So normally Warbeasts would have to test for Fear when charging it unless they cause Fear (like your Sabretusks) or Terror right?
I think taking out the Sabretusk was a must. As you mentioned he had fear and would have had a good chance of attacking the catapult on my round.

Panic tests (with reroll on 9):

Hunter:

Rolling "2d6" 2 times

1: 4 + 4 = 8
2: 3 + 1 = 4

sum: 12, average: 6.00

Ironguts:
Rolling "2d6" 2 times

1: 6 + 6 = 12
2: 4 + 5 = 9

sum: 21, average: 10.50

Phew. That's why the Standard of Discipline is worth its points.

Ok 5+ armour saves for the Hunter:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

3 + 1 = 4

ward:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :
1 + 5 = 6

In the meantime, why don't we do the Yhetee- Ushabti battle. Since it is in a building only 3 models (of monstrous infantry) can fight at one time, so its my 3 Yhetees against 3 of your Ushabti, with no stepping up. My Yhetees go first:

As far as Trollguts, from your post you got a casting result of a 28 after all your modifiers, including wizard levels. I rolled a 21 total, and then added 4 for my wizard levels, resulting in a 25. I was not crossing out the 25 as being incorrect, I was just saying that I was mistaken that an end result of 25 would beat your end result of a 28.

For the big battle, I will challenge with the Liche Priest anyways.

For the building combat we are doing now, you are correct that the Yhetees go first (due to their higher Initiative, bah! due to my Ushabti having GW's), but according to Page 128 of the BRB under Allocating Attacks, it says units not in the combat can still step up and join when casualties are taken, so I should get to attack back with three Ushabti, since I had four originally.

Unfortunately, your Aura of Frost still counts, so I am at WS 3, and only get 4+ to hit, not 3+.

9 Attacks at 4+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "9d6" :

4 + 1 + 2 + 4 + 5 + 1 + 3 + 3 + 6 = 29

Four hits at Strength 6 (Great Weapons) v. T 4, 2+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

1 + 3 + 2 + 4 = 10

Meh...only 3 wounds, so one Yhetee dead. I lose the combat by 2, but automatically pass the break test due to being Unbreakable, while being Unstable would make me take 2 wounds, but the Animated Construct rule reduces that to 1 wound. So I take one more wound and lose another Ushabti, reducing my unit to only two of them. Since I did not fail the Break test, your Yhetee unit is forced out of combat and back one inch from the building.
Ok, I'll have to reread that rule. Good catch on the dispel. The Mournfang champ will accept the challenge.

Impact hits occur before the challenge.

Stonehorn:
Result of the throw of dice "3d3 +3" :

3 + 1 + 3 + 3 = 10

Result of the throw of dice "10d6" :

5 + 4 + 5 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 5 + 1 + 2 + 3 = 31

9 wounds.

Mournfangs:

Result of the throw of dice "3d3" :

1 + 1 + 3 = 5

Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

2 + 1 + 6 + 1 + 5 = 15

3 wounds.

Maneaters:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

1 + 5 + 5 = 11

2 wounds

Maneaters strike first, I think:
Result of the throw of dice "15d6" :

5 + 4 + 2 + 3 + 6 + 1 + 2 + 6 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 1 + 2 + 6 + 3 = 56

Result of the throw of dice "10d6" :

1 + 5 + 5 + 2 + 6 + 1 + 4 + 2 + 2 + 6 = 34

8 wounds. That's a total of 22 wounds before the skeletons strike.

Now to the challenge, which is simultaneous
Mournfang champ:

Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

3 + 1 + 1 + 6 = 11

Mournfang gets 1 hit:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

2

and 1 wound

rider:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

3 + 4 + 5 = 12

Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

4 + 2 = 6

1 more wound.

The other 2 Mournfangs, also simultaneous

Mournfangs:
Result of the throw of dice "8d6" :

2 + 4 + 3 + 1 + 4 + 2 + 3 + 5 = 24

Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

3 + 1 + 5 + 6 + 6 = 21

4 more wounds.

Riders:
Result of the throw of dice "6d6" :

5 + 1 + 2 + 5 + 3 + 4 = 20

Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

6 + 4 + 2 + 4 = 16

3 more wounds.

Well, I guess my Hunter has nothing to swing at.

Summary: 22 wounds from impact hits and the Maneaters.
An additional 7 wounds from the Mournfangs at I2.
The Mournfang champ does 2 wounds to the Liche Priest in the challenge at I2.
So I think the priest and 3 archers can attack back.

Wow, total wipeout. What will that be, like crumble 20?  :P

Ok, Liche Priest against Mournfang Champion. Strangely WS3 v. WS3, one attack 4+:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

4

Hit! Now Strength 3 v. T 4 is 5+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

4

So close! Ok, now 3 Skeletons against your Hunter, WS 2 v. WS 5 is 5+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

6 + 5 + 4 = 15

Sweet, now two at Strength 3 v. T 5 at 6+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

6 + 5 = 11

1 Wound! Bah...now you'll save it w/ some ridiculous armour save I bet.
Hmm, just thinking that you mentioned the Hunter had nothing to swing at, but I did not have a graphic of what my 3 skellies were touching, so feel free to allocate that wound against whatever you imagine my skellies were touching. If it was good enough to wound the hunter, should have been good enough to wound anything else but the Stonehorn.
Well, I think you have 25 in the unit, and I rack up 29 kills before the Hunter can strike, so noone is left alive to swing at.

Hunter save 5+ armour:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :
1

4+ ward:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :
4

Made.

I just want to confirm before I decide whether to overrun or reform. It looks like you have positioned SW2 so if either the Mourfangs or Maneaters (or both) overrun they have to attack the front of the unit, while it looks like the Stonehorn would overrun into the the Necrolith Collosus. Do you agree?

Yep, go for it.
The Maneaters reform. The Stonehorn and Mournfangs overrun.

Overrun for the Mournfangs:

Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

1 + 4 + 5 = 10

Overrun for the Stonehorn:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

1 + 4 = 5

Uggh. The Hunter comes up a half an inch short.

Ok, charge time. My Necrolith Colossus is charging your Stonehorn/Hunter, my Skeleton Warriors (SW1) are charging your Sabretusk (S1), my Skeleton Archers (SA1) are charging your Ogre Bulls (Ogr) [and I suppose the Ironguts as well since it looks like they will probably need to clip them to get in contact with the Bulls], and my Skeleton Warriors (SW3) are charging your Ironguts (IG).

Charge reactions?
I will hold everywhere. Looks like it will be an interesting round.

Oh yea, need to see if my Tomb Scorpion and Stalkers come up. Tomb Scorpion:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

2

Bah! Now the Stalkers:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

4

Yep!

Now charges. Moving the Colossus in contact since he is gonna make it no matter what.
Rolling for the Skeleton Archers charge range:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

2 + 4 = 6

10 inches, they make it and just hit the Bulls.

Now the Skeleton Warriors (SW3) charging your Ironguts:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

4 + 2 = 6

10 inches again, they make it. The Skeleton Warriors (SW1) charging your Sabretusk are within 2 inches so will automatically make it.

Now in the Remaining Moves sub-phase I try to get my Stalkers out, placing the marker behind your Maneaters and cavalry.

225

10" South-South-West it is. They move to get better sight of the foe.

Nice, on to the Magic Phase, Winds of Magic:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

3 + 3 = 6

Channeling:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

5

So 6 for me and 3 for you unless you channel successfully.

Incantation of Vengeance on your Maneaters with 3 dice:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

6 + 4 + 6 = 16

Irresistible Force and a Miscast. I will roll a d3 to see how much their movement is reduced:
Result of the throw of dice "1d3" :

2

2 Inches, now the Miscast roll:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

2 + 6 = 8

Magical Feedback, I lose d6 Power dice:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

1

Lost one, have two left, and a Strength 6 hit on my Hierophant, 2+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

5

And he takes a wound.

Now he will try Incantation of Desiccation on your Ironguts on 2 dice:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

4 + 1 = 5

9 for a failed casting attempt.

On to the shooting phase. The SSC goes for the Yhetees (Y1), right in the middle.

1: 2
2: 6

Geez, another scatter 10":
Result of the throw of dice "1d360" :

294

Going left, and the Ironguts get hit! Looks like the SM and 5 Ironguts, with one Irongut being in the center of the hit.

Look out sir! roll:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

5

Made it so 6 Ironguts get it. Strength 9 against the one Irongut 2+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

3

Wounded, no Armour Save against Strength 9, d6 wounds:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

1

What a joke....one wound...Ok now 5 Strength 3 hits on the Ironguts, 5+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

1 + 4 + 5 + 3 + 3 = 16

One wound. You get a 5+ Armour Save:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

6

Made it. Wow, that was extremely disappointing. Well....you did take one wound...now since this is bizarre that they got hit and are in contact with the enemy, do they still take the Panic test caused by Skulls of the Foe (at -1 Leadership)?

Anyways, on to the Stalkers, they shoot at your Maneaters. 3 Artillery dice where 1=Misfire, 2=2", 3=4", 4="6", 5=8", and 6=10".
Rolling "1d6" 3 times

1: 2
2: 4
3: 1

One Misfire, and 8 hits. Misfire gives d3 wounds:
Rolling "1d3" 3 times

1: 3

Three wounds, and one bites the dust. Now 8 Strength 1 hits against Maneaters Init. of 3, 6+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "8d6" :

2 + 6 + 6 + 2 + 5 + 2 + 1 + 4 = 28

Two wounds. No armour save.

Now on to the Combat phase, we will start with your cavalry that are considered to be charging, and get impact hits.

Over to you.

http://zendwarf.com/bc/1/TKVSOGRES.xml

Oh yea, that top-most stalker should be dead.
Hmm, I don't think the Ironguts need a panic check, because they are engaged in close combat.

My Maneaters got really lucky. You did more damage to yourself then to me. This just hasn't been your game so far dice wise.

Impact hits:
Result of the throw of dice "4d3" :

1 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 6

Result of the throw of dice "6d6" :

6 + 6 + 5 + 2 + 4 + 4 = 27

Strength 5, so they all wound.

6 wounds so far. Does your prince issue a challenge? My champ doesn't issue one.

He will not issue a challenge.

Since we have the same initiative, we strike simultaneously, except for my Prince, that attacks last. Note that I am not sure which one is your champion, but assume all my normal warriors can hit your normal warriors, and also note that only one of your cav is in base contact with my Prince.

13 attacks at WS 5 v WS 3 at 3+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "13d6" :

6 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 6 + 1 + 6 + 2 + 4 + 5 + 4 + 6 + 1 = 47

8 hits, Strength 3 v T 4, 5+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "8d6" :

3 + 1 + 6 + 2 + 1 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 22

Wow...one wound. You have a 2+ armor save I think, so:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

3

Saved...of course. Now on to you, then my Prince.
Ok, I'm not going to attack the prince, so everyone will attack the normal warriors, with 4+ to hit

 Mournfangs with 4 attacks each:

Result of the throw of dice "16d6" :

2 + 2 + 1 + 6 + 6 + 4 + 2 + 3 + 3 + 1 + 4 + 5 + 4 + 6 + 3 + 1 = 53

7 hits
Result of the throw of dice "7d6" :

3 + 4 + 3 + 1 + 4 + 3 + 1 = 19

5 saves -2

and the riders:
Result of the throw of dice "13d6" :

6 + 3 + 4 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 5 + 6 + 4 = 42

6 hits
Result of the throw of dice "6d6" :

1 + 3 + 2 + 5 + 4 + 3 = 18

Summary:

5 saves -2, 4 saves -1, and 6 wounds from impact hits. so far in favour of the Mournfangs. Go ahead and shred them with your Prince.

Ok, 5 saves at -2 is just the parry save at 6+
Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

5 + 1 + 2 + 5 + 4 = 17

Nothing of course. Now the 4 saves at -1, that's 6+ then a 6+ parry:
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

5 + 5 + 4 + 1 = 15

Nope, now the parry:
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

6 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 11

Only one save. 14 Wounds then.

Now the Prince, only 3 attacks at 3+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

1 + 2 + 6 = 9

One hit of course >.< Now Strength 6 v T 4, 2+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

5

One wound at a -3 save, so a 5+ to save:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

1

Failed, one wound! Yes!  :P

Ok so you have 14 wounds, plus charging, plus a standard, that's 16. I have 1 wound, a standard, and 3 for ranks, for 5. Note that I forgot I had a champion in there, but I assume that he died at some point in your brutal assault. Lost by a whopping 11, so lose 11 due to crumbling. Still 21 left! Edit...crap, just realized you must have some sort of stomp attacks, just work them out and let me know how many wounds, then I will double them due to crumbling.

Ok, now on to the Hunter and Colossus. He has an Initiative of one.........damn....so both your Hunter and Stonehorn apparently get to kill him now lol.

Might as well do another battle at the same time to get things over with. Let's do my Skeleton Warriors and your Sabretusk. He has an initiative of 4, so you get to go first again.

Hmmm...we can start fighting the other battles too, just do make sure to do the combat results (if important) in the order I am listing here.

So the Skeleton Archers against the Bulls. Attack at the same time, my Archers get it looks like 15 attacks at WS 2 v WS 3, so 4+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "15d6" :

6 + 5 + 4 + 4 + 2 + 3 + 1 + 3 + 6 + 2 + 6 + 5 + 1 + 2 + 2 = 52

7 hits at Strength 3 v T 4, 5+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "7d6" :

6 + 5 + 3 + 5 + 1 + 4 + 4 = 28

3 wounds, and you save at 5+ then get a 6+ parry save:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

3 + 2 + 4 = 9

Nope. Now Parry:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

2 + 4 + 3 = 9

Yes! the first Ogre dead! 3 wounds. Now you get 18 attacks at a 3+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "18d6" :

6 + 5 + 3 + 1 + 3 + 4 + 4 + 6 + 2 + 2 + 3 + 1 + 4 + 4 + 2 + 4 + 4 + 3 = 61

13 hits at 3+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "13d6" :

6 + 5 + 1 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 5 + 4 + 5 + 3 + 2 + 2 + 3 = 43

8 wounds, and I have no armor save. Now you have 3 Stomp attacks at Strength 4, 3+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

1 + 3 + 5 = 9

Two more wounds, so you have 10 from wounds, and no extra rank due to an Ogre dying. I have 3 wounds, no more extra ranks, and one from charging, so 4, so I lose by 6 and crumble 6.

Now the Ironguts and Warriors. I am not issuing a challenge, and if you do not then it looks like your SM and BSB get to go first, then my Skeleton Warriors at I 2, then my Prince at I3 with a GW, then your Ironguts with I2 and GW's, finally with their Stomps.

On to you. Hopefully that was not too confusing.
No. It wasn't confusing.

Ok, 3 Stomp attacks from the Mournfangs at S5:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

3 + 4 + 2 = 9

They all wound, so 3 wounds there.

Stonehorn vs. Collosus
The Hunter has a great weapon, so he strikes last. The Stonehorn strikes first with 6 attacks:

Result of the throw of dice "6d6" :

3 + 5 + 2 + 5 + 3 + 4 = 22

3 hits

to wound

Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

6 + 5 + 1 = 12

2 wounds there. The Collosus strikes next, then the hunter.

Ironguts vs. Skeletons

The BSB makes way. Now my front line looks like from left to right (BSB-Champ-Slaughtermaster-Standard)

BSB goes first, 4 str 5 attacks:
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

1 + 4 + 3 + 4 = 12

Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

5 + 5 = 10

2 wounds.

The Slaughtermaster gets 5 S 4 attacks:
Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

4 + 4 + 2 + 5 + 3 = 18

Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

1 + 6 + 2 = 9

1 save -1

Summary: 2 saves -2 and 1 save -1.
38/101 ogre achievements

http://www.ogrestronghold.com/forum/index.php?topic=22397.msg303186#new
Ok, the Skeleton Warriors (SW2) lose 6 more models due to wounds and crumbling from your Cavalry.

Colossus v. Hunter/Stonehorn

The Colossus attacks the Stonehorn w/  5 attacks, 4+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

1 + 5 + 3 + 3 + 4 = 16

Two hits, 4+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

1 + 1 = 2

Nope. Bah. The Colossus will crumble to death now......

Ok, your hunter attacks back, 4 attacks 3+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

4 + 4 + 3 + 4 = 15

All hit of course...3+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

1 + 4 + 5 + 6 = 16

3 more wounds and the Colossus bites the dust.

Ok, now the Skeleton Warriors and Sabretusk.
The Sabretusk gets 3 attacks at 3+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

5 + 3 + 2 = 10

2 hits, 3+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

2 + 2 = 4

No wounds.
4 Skeletons attack back, one a Champion, at 4+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

1 + 2 + 6 + 6 + 6 = 21

They have hatred, so get the re-roll the two misses:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

3 + 3 = 6

Nope, so 3 hits at 5+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

2 + 4 + 5 = 11

One wound. I charged, got a wound, standard, 3 from ranks, so your Sabretusk loses combat by 6. He is too far from your General and BSB to get any bonus, so need a 2 to not run:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

1 + 2 = 3

Wow, he almost made it. I attempt to restrain pursuit on Leadership 7:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

1 + 3 = 4

Passed, and so reforms, while your Sabretusk flees:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

4 + 3 + 3 = 10

So he runs 7 inches I think that is.

Ironguts v. Skeleton Warriors

2 saves at -2 is only the parry save:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

5 + 3 = 8

Nope, 2 wounds, then the -1 save is 6+ armour then 6+ parry:
Rolling "1d6" 2 times

1: 2
2: 3

Nope, 3 wounds total now.

2 Skeleton attack your BSB, 4+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

3 + 5 = 8

One, 6+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

1

Nope. Now 5 against your Champion, 3+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

1 + 1 + 1 + 3 + 3 = 9

2 hits, 5+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

1 + 3 = 4

Nothing. Now 2 against your SM, 4+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

4 + 1 = 5

One at 6+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

1

Nope.  Now 4 against your Ironguts, 3+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

4 + 5 + 6 + 6 = 21

4 hits, 5+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

5 + 2 + 4 + 2 = 13

One wound, you get a 5+ ward:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

4

Failed, so a wound on your Slaughter Master.

Now the Prince attacks your Slaughter Master, 4+ to hit, 3 attacks:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

3 + 1 + 1 = 5

No hits. Going to guess your Ironguts go after rank and file, considering what you did with your BSB and SM, so 6 Ironguts, including a champion, 19 attacks at 4+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "19d6" :

3 + 4 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 6 + 1 + 3 + 2 + 3 + 3 + 6 + 2 + 4 + 6 + 6 + 6 + 2 + 2 = 66

8 hits, 2+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "8d6" :

6 + 5 + 4 + 6 + 1 + 5 + 3 + 4 = 34

7 wounds, 6+ parry:
Result of the throw of dice "7d6" :

6 + 2 + 6 + 4 + 3 + 3 + 4 = 28

5 wounds then. Now your stomps. One at Str 5:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

4

Parry save:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

1

Nope another wound. Now 3 at Strength 4, 3+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

5 + 5 + 6 = 16

3 wounds, 6+ parry:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

6 + 5 + 2 = 13

One saved, so 2 wounds.

Phew! So let me total that up. My Skellies took 11 wounds, and your SM took one.....

I have charging, standard, one wound, 3 ranks for 6. You have 11 wounds, two ranks, standard, and battle standard for 15, so I lose by 9 and crumble 9......

Hmmm....wow, looks like that completes all the combats and so my turn....looking grim for me. I do not see a chance to make it even a draw.

On to you.

http://zendwarf.com/bc/1/TKVSOGRES.xml

Yeah, well Ogres shine against S3,  T3 infantry. There are a number of things which can be problems for them in the Tomb King's list, but unfortunately skeletons aren't one of them.

On to charges: Both Yhetees charge. Yhetees 1 wisely charge to give the Ogres support, and Yhetees 2, perhaps much less wisely charge into the Ushabti again. Sabretusk 2 is going to try to charge the Catapult, but he'll need a pretty good roll:

Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

5 + 3 + 3 = 11

15, or 5 if its a failed charge. Let's see. A 1/2 ínch shy again.

Rally check for the other Sabretusk:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

5 + 6 = 11

Nope. Flees:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

2 + 6 + 3 = 11

Nope, I'll throw all five dice at it:
Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

2 + 1 + 3 + 3 + 5 = 14

Just barely dispelled it with an 18.
Then my last 2 dice for Bullgorger on the Ogres:

2 + 3 + 4 = 9

The Slaughtermaster is healed on 2+

Back to full health, and the Ogres now have strength 5.

Since I'm a little low on time now, let's start with the building battle:

5 + 4 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 4 = 19

Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

2 wounds. I'll have to hope that the Ushabti roll poorly.

Ok, 6 attacks at 4+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "6d6" :

6 + 5 + 2 + 1 + 6 + 1 = 21

3 hits, Strength 6 v. T 4 is 2+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

3 + 3 + 3 = 9

3 wounds. Looks like you lost by 1 since I do not think you get the charge bonus when assaulting a building.
Ok, then here is my break test:

Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

4 + 6 = 10

Fleeing:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

1 + 3 + 2 = 6

5.

Onto the Ogres/Yhetee battle.
2 Yhetees are in base contact. They strike first:

Result of the throw of dice "6d6" :

6 + 4 + 2 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 21

2+ to wound
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

5 + 3 + 5 + 2 = 15

4 wounds.

And the Ogres striking simultaneously with your skeletons:
Result of the throw of dice "15d6" :

6 + 5 + 5 + 4 + 4 + 1 + 4 + 6 + 1 + 3 + 6 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 3 = 53

Also 2+ to wound
Result of the throw of dice "11d6" :

1 + 2 + 6 + 2 + 6 + 5 + 5 + 3 + 1 + 4 + 1 = 36

8 wounds.

Summary
4 wounds form the Yhetees, and then 8 wounds from the Ogres who strike simultaneously with the archers.

Ironguts/Skeletons

My BSB:
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

4 + 3 + 2 + 5 = 14

Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

2 parry saves.

And the Slaughtermaster:
Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

5 + 2 + 2 + 6 + 2 = 17

Hmm. That was not a display of competence.
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

3 + 3 = 6

2 more parry saves.

Summary:4 parry saves for the Skeletons, who then strike next.

Mournfangs vs. Skeletons
Mournfangs:
Result of the throw of dice "16d6" :

6 + 5 + 1 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 1 + 5 + 2 + 6 + 6 + 6 + 2 + 4 + 2 = 64

Result of the throw of dice "10d6" :

4 + 1 + 6 + 4 + 2 + 5 + 6 + 1 + 4 + 1 = 34

7 wounds.

And the riders:
Result of the throw of dice "13d6" :

3 + 6 + 2 + 6 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 6 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 4 = 40

Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

4 + 3 + 5 + 4 + 1 = 17

4 saves -1.

Summary: The Mournfags strike simultaneously to the Skeletons, they inflict 7 wounds at S.5, and 4 wounds at S.4

Ok Skellies v Ogres/Yhetees
---------------------------------------
Looks to me like the 4 casualties from the Yhettes bring them out of base contact with the Yhetees, so I get 5 attacks at the Ogres, at WS 2 not 1 since I am no longer in base contact with the Yhetees. 4+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

3 + 1 + 2 + 6 + 6 = 18

2 hits and 5+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

1 + 6 = 7

One wound to save. At any rate those Skellies are wiped out totally by combat resolution.

--------------------------------------
Now the Ironguts/Skellies

4 parry saves:
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

6 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 13

Made one. 3 wounds total. Now 2 attacks against your BSB, WS5 v WS5 4+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

6 + 5 = 11

2 hits, Strength 3 v T5 is 6+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

1 + 2 = 3

No wounds, now 2 against your Champion, 3+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

3 + 4 = 7

2 hits, 5+ to wound:
4 + 6 = 10

One wound on the Champion at normal armour save.

5 attacks on your SM, WS5 v WS10, 4+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

5 + 6 + 5 + 4 + 6 = 26

Wow! 4 hits. Strength 3 v T5 is 6+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

3 + 5 + 4 + 5 = 17

Damn.

Now 4 against your normal Ironguts, 3+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

4 + 2 + 1 + 3 = 10

2 hits, 5+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

1 + 1 = 2
No wounds of course.

--------------------------------------------------------
Ok, on to the Mournfang/Skellies

7 parries:
Result of the throw of dice "7d6" :

1 + 1 + 5 + 1 + 5 + 3 + 2 = 18

None, now 4 6+ saves:
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

3 + 5 + 1 + 1 = 10

Nope, now 4 parries:
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

5 + 5 + 2 + 3 = 15

Nope, 11 wounds, so I have 4 skellies left in that unit and the Tomb Prince.

Ok now those 4 skellies attack back at 3+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

5 + 5 + 1 + 6 = 17

3 hits at 5+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

6 + 6 + 1 = 13

2 wounds for them to save. I suppose my Tomb Prince and your Stomps happen at the same time? You can roll for the Tomb Prince, he will direct all his attacks at the Champion if possible.

Back to you.

Only 6 hits.

Result of the throw of dice "6d6" :

6 + 6 + 6 + 5 + 3 + 5 = 31

and 6 wounds.

4 Stomps, BSB is first it wounds on 2+ all others on 3+
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

5 + 1 + 2 + 6 = 14

2 wounds there. I'll go ahead and roll your parries for the first 6 wounds

Result of the throw of dice "6d6" :

1 + 1 + 6 + 4 + 1 + 5 = 18

A total of 7 wounds, plus the initial 3.
You've got 1 so far. I'm not sure how you want your prince to attack, so I'll leave the rolls to you.

Mournfang battle

made.

Stomps:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

4 + 1 + 1 = 6

1 more wound.  Looks like 12 to 1 in the Morunfang's favour so I think the unit crumbles away.

Ok, what's left to my is the Prince against the Ironguts. He will swing at your SM. 3 attacks at 4+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

3 + 6 + 6 = 15

2 hits, Strength 6 v T 5 so 3+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

4 + 6 = 10

2 wounds.
The prince kills the Irongut wounded by the catapult. I've tried to mark all my wounds with skulls. I hope its accurate since its been over multiple rounds. In the Irongut battle you still have a rank on me, which cancels out the BSB. I win 10-3 in wounds though, so I think seven skeletons crumble. Which leaves you, I think with 9. Please let me know if I've missed something, or just correct it. So over to you.

Just to let you know that tommorow I'm heading off with the family to my in-laws for Christmas. I will have (at best) occasional e-mail access and no Battle Chronicler. I will be back here after New Years, and hope we can continue full speed then. So, Merry Christmas. You've been a good opponent Sazzel, and I've really enjoyed our game.

Merry Christmas, I will be light on posting as well. Has been fun and instructive. Obviously my love of heavy core investment is somewhat misplaced with Tomb Kings.
For some reason GW has designed its Undead armies to function best with minimum Core and a varitey of units. I think its a stylistic choice, I personally play both Vampires and TK, and find building an army a rather different process than that for Ogres, Skaven, or Lizard Men.

You are right. Makes me think that I will drop two of the Skeleton Warriors units, and run Tomb Guards and Necropolis Knights instead. While I hate those models, I have not bought any Tomb King models yet. What I think I will do is just get the normal Skeleton Warriors, and convert them up with some armour and halberds, and play them as Tomb Guard, that way they from an aesthetic point of view appear to just be another form of core skeletons. Also, I have always been disappointed with how horrible our non-shooting  horse cavalry are, so I will likely just mount Skeleton Horsemen with some heavy armour and shields on chariot bases, 4 to 5 per base,  and use the rules for Necropolis Knights. This way I can have an army that looks to be made up of primarily core, while benefiting from the rules for Tomb Guard and Necropolis Knights, and it not being too confusing for real life opponents.

I will get on to my turn today.
So we start with charges. I will only declare a charge on your Yhetees with my Skeleton Spearmen. Hold?

Wonder if my Tomb Scorpion will come out this turn, dunno what he could do at this point though.

Was just realizing that due to the new rules for Flyers, that my Hierophant with the Cloak of the Dunes may have made an illegal move at some point in the past, as I can apparently only go 10" since TK cannot march. Seems like an awful waste for the item, to only actually be able to use how nice it is if I get off Desert Wind, and prevents flyover damage sometimes, since I can only move 10" twice, instead of 20" at one. Meh.
I hold as I don't want you redirecting.

Don't worry about the Hierophant, I don't think the cloak has really come into play at this point. It isn't the best item, but it does give you 6 more inches to play with if you need to escape a unit.

Skeleton charge distance:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

1 + 4 = 5

9" and barely made it.

Will my Tomb Scorpion emerge?
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

2

LOL nope.

The Ushabti leave the building, the Stalkers move, and the Hierophant flies over your Hunter/Stonehorn. They take:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

6 + 5 = 11

Wow 11 Strength 2 hits. 1-4 is the Stonehorn, and 5-6 the Hunter:
Result of the throw of dice "11d6" :

5 + 3 + 4 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 3 + 3 + 1 + 2 + 1 = 29

So 10 on the Stonehorn and 1 on the Hunter. Stonehorn, 6+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "10d6" :

4 + 1 + 2 + 4 + 5 + 1 + 6 + 3 + 3 + 6 = 35

2 Wounds, 4+ armour save:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

1 + 2 = 3

2 Wounds on the Stonehorn. Now 6+ to wound the Hunter:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

1 + 2 = 3

Nope. Below is what it looks like at the end of my movement phase:
By the way, since the Maneaters had Incantation of Vengeance of them last turn, would turning them about 180 degrees count as movement for the purposes of dangerous terrain tests?
Now the magic phase. Winds of Magic:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

4 + 2 = 6

Channeling:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

5

Nope, so 6 for me and 4 for you unless you channel one.

I will try casting the boosted version of Incantation of the Desert Wind on 4 dice:
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

6 + 6 + 4 + 1 = 17

Yikes, Irresistible Force and a Miscast. Well, so my Stalkers regain a wound, bringing one model back and get another move, and my Skeleton Warriors fighting your Ironguts get:
Result of the throw of dice "1d3 +1" :

2 + 1 = 3

3 wounds back. I have placed Skull markers next to my models to indicate wounds, so one of the Stalkers has only one left, and my Hierophant took a wound the last time he miscast (we will see what happens this time). The Hierophant uses his extra move to fly over the nearby Sabretusk and it takes:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

2 + 5 = 7

7 Strength 2 hits. 6+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "7d6" :

2 + 1 + 6 + 2 + 1 + 5 + 5 = 22

Bah, one wound. He rolls for the miscast:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

6 + 6 = 12

LOL Power Drain. D3 spells lost:
Result of the throw of dice "1d3" :

2

Two, so he loses Incantation of the Desert Wind, and then a d3 to determine from the remaining 3:
Result of the throw of dice "1d3" :

1

Phew, just the Incantation of Cursed Blades. But now I have no way of getting my Lore Attribute to work since I have no more Augment spells...   So now the Magic Phase is over due to Power Drain.

On to Shooting. Here is the picture at the moment:
Shooting Phase

On to the Stalkers, they shoot at your Maneaters. 3 Artillery dice where 1=Misfire, 2=2", 3=4", 4="6", 5=8", and 6=10".
Rolling "1d6" 3 times

1: 4
2: 5
3: 6

Nice! 24 hits, Strength 1 v. Initiative 3, 6+ to wound, no armour saves:
Result of the throw of dice "24d6" :

1 + 1 + 5 + 6 + 6 + 5 + 6 + 6 + 5 + 1 + 2 + 3 + 6 + 4 + 2 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 5 + 6 + 5 + 4 + 2 + 2 = 87

6 wounds, they had 2 wounds from the last time I shot at them, so now it is just one model w/ 1 wound left. So close to wiping them out. Do not have to take a panic test since I think you gave them ItP.

The SSC goes for the Mournfang Cavalry.

1: 3
2: 5

Scatter 8" of course.....
Result of the throw of dice "1d360" :

218

How do I keep getting the SSW direction every time?

Here we are at the end of the Shooting Phase:

http://zendwarf.com/bc/1/TKVSOGRES.xml

Combat Phase:

Yhetees/Skeleton Warriors

Your Yhetees get to go first. Have at me.

Ironguts/Skeleton Warriors

Could you clarify where exactly your SM is in the front rank?
You get to go first with your SM and BSB, then Skeletons, then I think simultaneous for Prince, Ironguts, and Irongut Stomps.
That was one impressive fly over! I do believe I need a dangerous terrain test. on a 1 the Maneater unit is destroyed:

Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

1

 Ok, that's it for them.

The front rank of My Ironguts looks like this from left to right:

BSB-Irongut Champ-Slaughtermaster-Irongutbanner.

I hope that clarifies things.  BSB:

Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

3 + 4 + 1 + 1 = 9

Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

2

Wounds once.

Slaughtermaster:
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

4 + 6 + 1 + 6 = 17

Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

6 + 4 + 3 = 13

He wounds 3 times.

Summary: My character models wounds 3 times, so 1 save -2 and 1 save -1.

Yhetees:
Result of the throw of dice "9d6" :

5 + 2 + 5 + 3 + 3 + 4 + 6 + 4 + 4 = 36

A good roll.

Result of the throw of dice "6d6" :

3 + 1 + 4 + 1 + 5 + 6 = 20

Well that averages things out a bit. 4 saves at -2. I also get stomps with whatever survives.

Does your Cavalry have to take a Panic Test now that the Maneaters were destroyed w/in 6"?

Yhetees/Skellies

4 Parry saves:
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

3 + 3 + 2 + 5 = 13

None. 14 Skellie attacks including the Champion, bah, 5+ to hit since they have now WS 1 v WS 3 with your Yhetees special rule, but I have Hatred due to my Necrotect.
Result of the throw of dice "14d6" :

4 + 5 + 5 + 5 + 1 + 3 + 6 + 6 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 1 + 4 + 1 = 56

Wow! 7 hits, and get to re-roll the 7 misses:
Result of the throw of dice "7d6" :

1 + 3 + 6 + 1 + 5 + 1 + 1 = 18

Two more, so 9 hits, 5+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "9d6" :

4 + 3 + 4 + 3 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 1 + 2 = 29

Damn! One wound.... Ok now the Necrotect gets 3 attacks at 4+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

2 + 6 + 1 = 9

One, re-roll the two misses:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

3 + 6 = 9

So two hits, 4+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

5 + 3 = 8

Another wound, so only 2 on your Yhetees. Now they hit with 3 Strength 5 stomps, 2+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

5 + 6 + 2 = 13

3 wounds, 6+ parry save:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

6 + 5 + 1 = 12

One saved, so that makes 6 wounds by you, 2 by me, I get +3 for ranks, +1 for charging, +1 for standard, so beat you by 1. You take a break test at -1, w/in a foot of the SM and barely the BSB, so re-rollable 8 or less:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

6 + 1 = 7

Passed, and they sit there, waiting to get flanked by the Bulls.

Ironguts/Skellies

Do not know how many wounds your SM and BSB have taken, I think your SM has taken at least one.

One armour save at 6+
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

6

Lol, and then 3 parry saves:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

6 + 3 + 5 = 14

One saved, so 2 wounds against the Skellies so far. Now the Skellies attack back, One attack against the BSB, 4+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

5

Hit, 6+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

2

Nope, now 5 against your Ironguts, 3+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

6 + 1 + 5 + 3 + 4 = 19

4 hits, 5+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

1 + 4 + 1 + 5 = 11

5+ armour save:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

4

Nope so Ironguts have taken 1 wound. Now 5 Skellies against your SM, 4+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

6 + 6 + 1 + 3 + 5 = 21

3 hits, 6+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

6 + 1 + 4 = 11

One wound, 5+ ward save:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

6

Damn, made it. Now the Prince gets 3 attacks 4+ to hit against your SM:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

1 + 2 + 1 = 4

No hits of course....Now you get 18 Irongut attacks at 4+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "18d6" :

3 + 2 + 5 + 6 + 3 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 6 + 5 + 2 + 6 + 4 + 5 + 1 + 3 + 2 = 58

7 hits, 2+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "7d6" :

3 + 2 + 3 + 2 + 1 + 5 + 1 = 17

5 wounds, Parry save:
Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

1 + 6 + 2 + 6 + 6 = 21

Wow, 3 made it, so 2 wounds. I have taken 4 wounds so far, and dealt 1. Now you get 3 Stomps at Strength 4 and one at Strength 5:
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

3 + 2 + 5 + 3 = 13

4th one above was the Strength 5. So 2 wounds at -1 and one at -2, two 6+ armour saves:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

4 + 2 = 6

Nope, and so then 3 parry saves:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

4 + 2 = 6

Made one, so that is 6 skellies down, and one wound on the IG's. You have a rank +1, BSB +1, and standard +1, and I have a Standard +1, so you have 9 and me 2. Lose by 7. Crumble 7. have 6 skellies left, so my Prince takes one wound and sits there. Cannot believe I did not get completely wiped out yet.

End of my turn, so on to you. Guess at this point you just need to take a panic test to finish this part up. I have wound counters now on all my models; if you could put wound counters on yours that would be great.

http://zendwarf.com/bc/1/TKVSOGRES.xml
Ok, just to clarify things the BSB hasn't been wounded yet. The Slaughtermaster has been wounded twice, but has healed one wound with Blood Gruel, so he is currently down 1. I think My Yhetees not fleeing was probably decisive, I figured you would probably still do a fair amount of damage on that flank.

The Mournfangs have the Gleaming Pendant, should they fail their check:

Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

2 + 4 = 6

Well they made it without needing the reroll.

Rallying Yhetee 2:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

6 + 6 = 12

Fleeing:

2 + 5 + 5 = 12

Gone.

Rallying the Sabretusk:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

1 + 6 = 7

Nope:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

5 + 3 + 1 = 9

Also off the board.

Charges: The Hunter charges the Catapult, The Ogres Charge  SW1, both automatically succeed.

So as you can see from the graphic, I forgot to advance to turn 4, but I will do so at the end of the round.

Magic dice:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

1 + 1 = 2

Chanelling:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

Nope, so just 2 dice from me. I'll try Spinemarrow on the Ogres, as I really can't afford to break there:

Result of the throw of dice "2d6 +4" :

4 + 3 + 4 = 11

It is successfully cast. I'll let you make your channeling check yourself, as it could make a big difference.

Hah! Well, the max I can get is 10 for a Dispel with one dice, so it goes off.
Those Bull's Impact hits and Disruption will ruin me

Feel free to allocate the attacks of the SSC crew against the Stonehorn, at least it only has a 4+ armour save.
Ok let's start there then. Impact hits:

Result of the throw of dice "3d3" :

1 + 1 + 1 = 3

Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

3 + 5 + 5 = 13

The crew attacks back
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

2 + 2 + 5 = 9

Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

Nothing.

The crew is wiped out.

Yhetee attacks:

Result of the throw of dice "9d6" :

1 + 5 + 3 + 1 + 6 + 3 + 1 + 2 + 2 = 24

Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

6 + 4 = 10

2 wounds.

The Ogres (Simultaneous with the skeletons)

Impact hits:

Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

6 + 1 + 2 = 9

1 wound.

Result of the throw of dice "15d6" :

5 + 6 + 2 + 4 + 2 + 3 + 5 + 5 + 6 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 5 + 1 + 3 = 54

Result of the throw of dice "8d6" :

4 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 6 + 1 + 3 + 4 = 27

6 wounds.

Summary:
2 normal wounds from the Yhetees (-2 save)
1 wound from the Ogres from impact hits.
6 normal wounds from the Ogres (-1 save, simultaneous to the skeletons)

Blood gruel for the Slaughtermaster:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

Uggh, so he down to 3 wounds. He attacks the Prince:

Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

5 + 2 + 4 + 1 + 5 = 17

Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

6 + 5 + 3 = 14

Summary:
2 normal wounds from the Yhetees (-2 save)
1 wound from the Ogres from impact hits.
6 normal wounds from the Ogres (-1 save, simultaneous to the skeletons)

Hmm...just looked up the rules for Shields, and realized that I do not get Parry saves against stomps or impact hits, bah!

2 Parry saves from Yhetees:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

2 + 6 = 8

Saved one, so 2 wounds so far. 6 saves at 6+ with no parry save, since they attacks are from the flank:
Result of the throw of dice "6d6" :

4 + 6 + 3 + 1 + 6 + 5 = 25

6 wounds total then.

My Necrotect attacks your Yhetees, 3 attacks at 4+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

2 + 2 + 2 = 6

......Now 14 attacks (including Champion) from Skellies against the Yhetees, 5+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "14d6" :

6 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 6 + 6 + 3 + 4 + 1 + 5 + 3 + 3 + 1 + 5 = 52

5 hits, 5+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

3 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 9

Nothing of course.

2 saves -1 for the prince.

The Prince only has Light Armour, so gets no saves and bites the dust. Your unit takes d6 Strength 4 hits distributed like shooting attacks from his Curse:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

1

4+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

5

5+ armour save:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

6

And he just gets cut down with no special effects...
Here come the stomps.

Yhetees:

Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

6 + 2 + 5 = 13

Ogres:

Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

6 + 2 + 4 = 12

5 more wounds. So a total of 11 wounds to none. You have 3 ranks and a banner, while I have the flank and a charge, so you crumble 10 more if I am thinking correctly. That would leave you with 15 skeletons. The Ironguts and Hunter reform. Here is the end of the turn map:

Sorry, my internet has been down, and just came up as I am about to go to sleep. Since I have work tomorrow I will not be able to continue until tomorrow night. You think internet would be reliable in a large city...
No problem. We'll continue when its working again. :)

The Ushabti charge the Yhetees and automatically make it.

Does the Scorpion show up?
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

6

Yep. I place the marker slightly to the lower right of my Hierophant.

1: 5
2: 6

Nice. My Stalkers shift and my Hierophant flies over your Hunter again. 2d6 hits:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

1 + 6 = 7

7, with 1-4 the Stonehorn and 5-6 the Hunter:
Result of the throw of dice "7d6" :

4 + 1 + 6 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 1 = 21

6 on the Stonehorn, one on the Hunter. Hunter 6+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

3

Nope, now 6+ to wound the Stonehorn:
Result of the throw of dice "6d6" :

1 + 5 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 6 = 24

Only one, with a 4+ save:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

6

Saved. So here we are:

On to magic:

Winds of Magic:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

6 + 4 = 10

Channeling:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

10 for me and 6-7 for you. Unfortunately I have lost two spells and am a Level 2 wizard now ;_;

I try for Incantation of Desiccation on your Bulls with 5 dice:
Result of the throw of dice "5d6 +2" :

4 + 2 + 6 + 3 + 4 + 2 = 21

Made it (that is -1 S and -1 T). Dispel?
channeling:

Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

7 dice, and I'll toss 6 at that:

Result of the throw of dice "6d6 +5" :

3 + 3 + 3 + 1 + 6 + 4 + 5 = 25

Dispelled, but I only have 1 dice left.

Well, I only have one spell left to cast, and so try Incantation of Vengeance on your Cavalry on 5 dice:
Result of the throw of dice "5d6" :

2 + 3 + 3 + 6 + 6 = 20

Bah, should have used only 4. IF and a Miscast. Miscast roll:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

5 + 5 = 10

Another Power Drain! D3 levels and spells lost:
Result of the throw of dice "1d3" :

3

Hah! His wizard level is now zero, and he knows no more spells. Burned himself out. Playing with some kind of house rule where a wizard only has to roll on the Miscast table once per game max when they get IF would be less crazy and not overpowered I think. You would imagine that no one would ever last more than a week as a wizard with the frequency with which they blow themselves up.

Anyways...on to shooting.  The Stalkers, they shoot at your Cavalry. 3 Artillery dice where 1=Misfire, 2=2", 3=4", 4="6", 5=8", and 6=10".
Rolling "1d6" 3 times

1: 3
2: 5
3: 2

14 Strength 1 hits against Initiative 2, 5+ to wound, no armour saves:
Result of the throw of dice "14d6" :

6 + 6 + 2 + 4 + 5 + 1 + 4 + 6 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 6 + 2 + 5 = 52

6 wounds, that is 2 Cavalry down, and they take a panic test:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6" :

2 + 4 = 6

Passed, though they had a re-roll anyways.

On to combat!

Your Yhetees go first, then my Necrotect, then the Bulls and Skellies simultaneously, then the Ushabti.
One Yhetee at the Ushabti

Result of the throw of dice "3d6R" :

5 + 3 + 2 = 10

Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

4

1 wound there. I can't remember how many wounds they are down.

The other two at the skeletons:
Result of the throw of dice "6d6" :

1 + 3 + 6 + 1 + 5 + 1 = 17

Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

4 + 3 + 6 = 13

3 wounds.

And the Ogres:

Result of the throw of dice "15d6" :

5 + 1 + 4 + 1 + 6 + 4 + 3 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 6 + 6 + 4 + 1 = 49

Result of the throw of dice "8d6" :

3 + 1 + 5 + 2 + 4 + 4 + 1 + 1 = 21

4 more wounds.

The Ushabti were down 2 wounds, which I forgot about, so now one model is removed, and one is left w/ full wounds.

The Hierophant attacks your Yhetees, 3 attacks at 4+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

3 + 1 + 2 = 6

Here is a close up of where we are right now:

Now 7 including the Champion get to attack your Yhetees, so 8 attacks at 5+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "8d6" :

5 + 4 + 6 + 6 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 28

3 hits, 5+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

4 + 2 + 1 = 7

No wounds of course. Now the remaining Skeleton has to attack your Bulls, 5+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

1

Forgot that those 4 wounds from the Ogres happened simultaneously with the Skellies attacks, so 4 more are still alive to attack the Yhetees before they bite the dust, 5+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "4d6" :

3 + 1 + 5 + 4 = 13

One hit, 5+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

5

A wound. Your Yhetees were down two wound so that takes off a model. From the rules it looks like the Ushabti moves up into contact with the next Yhetee.

Ok now the Ushabti and the Stomps all happen simultaneously. 3 attacks from the Ushabti against the Yhetees, 4+ to hit:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

4 + 3 + 2 = 9

One hit, 2+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

4 + 3 + 2 = 9

A wound!

3 Stomps from the Yhetees at Strength 5, 2+ to wound the Skellies:
Result of the throw of dice "3d6" :

2 + 5 + 4 = 11

All three wound, now one Strength 4 Stomp from the lone Bull in contact, 3+ to wound:
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

4

Another wound, so 4 more on my Skellies, and I am pretty sure my Skellies crumble completely now, including the Necrotect. Not sure how to do the Ushabti, he probably is in the same combat so crumbles completely too. Here is a close-up of the end of the combat [mistake here, I remembered about the 4 skellies still being alive after creating the post, so please remove the Ushabti as well since it probably died]:

Guess you can reform or something, I will turn it over to you then, although I see no real point in continuing  :P
http://zendwarf.com/bc/1/TKVSOGRES.xml

I would be willing to call it a game at this point too. I've got to say the combination Stalkers/Desert Wind impressed me a great deal. Personally I've used Stalkers 3 times, and was very unimpressed, but in this gmae they were one of the most effective units. The Dusk Cloak I also saw the first time in action. I'm not sure I would take it, but it definately appeared useful. This was one of the few games where I was happy with an Ogre unit. I've been taking larger ones and was rather unimpressed. As a six strong support unit though, I liked them. I've now used Yhetees the last 4 games and they work quite decently as a cheap fast unit if you are not going the Ironblaster/Lead Belcher route. So does the Stonehorn.

I'm going to have to call Dell tommorow anyways because I think my computer need a new power switch, or in the worse case a new power supply, and am not sure how long I will have computer access for, and how long I will be without.

It was a great game, Sazzel, and if you'd like to play another one once my computer is fit, then I'd be up for it.
