Reasoning
It's a pretty straighforward fight in my mind against a list like this.  The key thing here is that all of his units rely on specific key models for the whole army to work.  Sniping maneaters for example will be plenty to deal with the skink priest and scar vet.  The double cannons will be able to make mince meat out of the steg.

Mournfangs will be able to plow through any support unit thrown infront of them.  And without my opponent leaving speedbumps in the way the MFs can provide a serious threat to his blocks of troops (especially considering that I will throw all my fire power at supporting them if he leaves the MF an opening).

The only offensive spell life provides is tested off of strength so with a lvl2&4 maw casters I'll be able to boost myself up to a str 5+ easily.

Butcher being immune to poison is free to chase down chamleon skinks solo with impunity.

Tusk will help me deploy in a good position,

Gnoblars will park infront of the ME block so even if he does get a chance to go after my general the only units he has that could reliably take them down would result in a loss of his unit by 1/3rd which I am confident my ME block with some gut magic would be able to hold up against, and even if I couldn't the unit is stubborn on a rerollable 9.

Hellheart is actually there to force my opponent to use his cupped hands, It's a bit of a gamble but considering I can heal myself etc with cupped hands gone my opponent will be risking loosing the game every time he tries to cast a big spell.  And even then I don't really care if he gets off anything but crown of thorns, without that buff the rest of his spells are marginally useful at best.

my 2cents
Thanks for your list sitaavanu. There are just 4 days left to enter a list for the competition.

Why this army cuts the lizards in half:

I wanted to create a list from a different angle, which actually turned out to be, by the looks of it, a really effective list. Was going to save this for a skaven army challenge, but I think it could be pretty good here aswell. Just made a few changes from the skaven list :)

Why Skrag? Umad bro?
Skrag is in my opinion one of the most underestimated units in our book (no, yhetees are not underestimated, they are actually bad). Also, since this LM list is quite magic heavy, a lvl 4 is godlike IMO. On another note, the lizardmen won't really have an answer for 3 units of 2 gorgers popping up behind their lines at the same time. Planning on using the skinks as skrag fodder. Also, may I add since he is immune to poison, the skinks/chameleons will be breakfast for skraggy.

Why the butcher and the firebelly?
Butcher is for the beast lore signature spell, just so I can wreck havoc with skrag somewhat easier. SInce I want magic defense, I decided to go with both dispell scroll and hellheart, which requires me to use 2 casters. I don't feel like I need a second butcher, so I brought in the firebelly for some breath weapon fun. Potion of speed + luckstone? personal preference.

Why a gutstar?
Since I am very reliant on skrag, I want a large, solid unit that poses a large threat, drawing away my opponents focus/attention from skrag. Banner of discipline? Easy, since I wouldn't run a bruiser in a 2500pts skrag list, I think the extra Ls is need. Side note: Even with a bruiser, I'd probably use the same banner anyways.

Gorgers?
Self-explainatory - this is a skrag list. As far as I'm concerned, the lizards don't have any answers to the gorgers. Not really much to say here.

Sabertusks?
Good redirectng/ support unit. Further explaination in the deployment section.

Ironblasters?
These large pistols are awesome. I'll most likely take as many shots as possible towards the temple guards with slann to get rid of him.

Deployment:

I'll start with deploying one ironblaster and one sabertusk on each flank, then I put my gutstar in the middle the butcher and the firebelly goes here aswell. The last sabertusk will be deployed on the flank that I think will be best for skrag, who I will deploy last. I don't want skrag to ram into the temple guards, so I'll deploy him in a good position for going straight into his skinks or sauruses.

That's it:)

Regards
Danne

The last sabertusk will be deployed on the flank

Think of it as a magic glove, like Michael Jackson use to wear, you could even model your character up grabbing at his crotch.
-Zippy on the Greedy Fist
Ok, here's my effort. I actually think a pretty standard list has a good chance at this. There's not too much to worry about in that Lizard list, the biggest threat is probably the Slann and his accompanying unit - but any decent Ogre unit should be able to see them off if they are allowed to. The rest is all about controlling his chaff. Luckily, Ogres have some decent options for this too.

Here we go then...

Lord
Slaughtermaster: Level 4, Maw, Fencers Blades, Crown of Command, Glittering Scales
Pretty standard build. Can take damage away from his unit in combat, and can dish it out too.

Heroes
Bruiser: BSB, Heavy Armour, Sword of Striking, Talisman of Endurance, Enchanted Shield
Another standard load. Will again deflect damage and hitting on 2+ at Str5 should be able to cause some too.
Firebelly: Level 2, AHW, Dispel Scroll
Firebelly: Level 2, AHW, Ruby Ring
Part of the plan for the Magic phase. Plus the crucial Scroll

Core
7 Ironguts: Full Command, Leadership Banner
SM and BSB go here, another standard unit to dish out some damage.
7 Bulls: Ironfists, Full Command
Firebellies go here and add to their output with the breath weapons.
2 x 10 Gnoblars
Part of the Anti Chaff Plan.

Special
2 single Sabretusks
ACP part 2
2 units of 2 Mournfangs: Heavy Armour, Ironfists
ACP part 3

Rare
2 Ironblasters
2 Scraplaunchers
Ironblasters target the Steg and the Slann, Scraplauncher goes for the skink block (or a cheeky KB on the Slann!). Plus they fill the ACP section.

The Plan
There are 2 things to focus on to beat the Lizards. You have to survive the magic and you have to control the field. The magic part of this plan is accomplished by the Scroll, having 3 wizards and nerves of steel. I've posted before on how to beat the Lore of Life, and Becalming shouldn't be an issue as I have 3 casters and 8 spells to choose from. Plus, if he targets the SM you get free protection from Miscasting.
The second thing to do is to control the field. With the amount of chaff in the list, you can certainly out-deploy him. My chaff should be able to beat his up in a fight too, and the Mournfangs have the armour to almost ignore the threat of the skinks on their way in. The 4 chariots should also be able to lay down some hurt against pretty much anything they go up against.
Overall, the Ironguts should beat the Temple Guard, the Bulls should beat the Skrox and the rest of the army should be able to fight the rest of the lizards off.

Ironblaster-170

Total: 2500 points even.

Justification/Game Plan: My 2 biggest worries are the Slaan, the Saurus unit, and the Ancient Stegadon.  My plan to deal with them is to have the maneaters take on the temple guard, and have the Ironguts take on the Saurus, have the bulls take on the Skrox unit. The Ironblaster will take a pop at the ancient stegadon. If the stegadon survives, the Maneaters or Ironguts will take a swing at it, probably the maneaters. I plan to take on the Sallies & skinks with whatever I have left.
I feel the huge units of Ironguts and Maneaters is a good idea so I can focus a whole lot of power on the most dangerous units quickly. The bulls are there as a cheaper way of chewing through skinks. The ironblaster is obviously there to blow up the stegadon. the Slaughtermaster is there to soften up stuff, the butcher is there to hopefully buff strenth and/or give regeneration, and the bruiser is there for a little extra hitting power and so that he can help prevent the maneaters from breaking before they've done their job.

EDIT: Alright, this is my final list.

Total: 2499

So, what are the threats of his army ?

* His Slann. A SM would cost many points and has a high chance of being shut down by this thing, and his Magic Phase will quickly get out-of-control anyway.
* Poison shooting.
* One good tarpit unit, his 29 saurus warriors.
* The Stegadon

So how do I deal with that ?

* 2x4 IF Mournfangs. They will probably munch through any unit of this army without any problem. A 2+ armour save is pretty much guaranteed to save them from Poison Attacks. The Banner of Flame on one can be pretty useful as I could potentially let go a casting of the regen spell, saving me some dispell dices.
* The Flying Butcher©. He is going to hunt all those skink packs (chameleons, priest bunker). With Fly, Immune to Poison, 40% of chances of D3 S4 impact hits, 4 S4 attacks and a stomp he will slaughter them and cast some spells to heal himself if needed.
* The Ogre unit with a Tyrant and the Firebelly will tear through his Saurus. The Tyrant has 8 S6 attacks, the Firebelly has his breath and the Ogres strike first, have a ton of attacks, stomps and potentially the charge to back them up.
* The Ironguts with BSB and the Ironblaster can both handle the Steg, and will provide support in tough battles. The stubborn Bruiser BSB with T5 and a 3+ AS can block a unit in combat for ages.
* The Gnoblars can be a meat shield, but Skinks are one of those creatures they can even fight ! 40 of them may even be a very cheap threat to chameleons, the priest bunker, or a very good blocker against that skink/krox unit.

EDIT : Lol, one could say I stole my list from Auere, but I didn't actually, I've just read now the contributions of the other people. Sorry dude =)
4 Mournfang Cavalry, HA, Ironfist, M, S, Dragonhide Banner - 350 Pts.
4 Mournfang Cavalry, HA, Ironfist, M, S, Banner of Eternal Flame - 310 Pts.

Unfortunately, due to some bizarre need to keep Ogres restricted, only one unit of Mournfangs can have a magic banner.

No problem. Brilliant minds think alike :-) Mournfang are just nasty against lizardmen.

I think the OP can just select one of our lists and post it instead of both of them. I do not care if its mine or yours, as they are probably around equally good. I do think that mine is sligthly ahead because of the runemaw banner against dwellers below.

First my apologies for starting the poll a day late. I had a very long day at work yesterday and my daughter is ill, so I just couldn't find time to make it on in the evening.
Thanks to all of you who entered, and for the time and effort you took.
On a side note, despite the obvious similarities I've included both Auere's and Far 2 Casual's lists in the vote. Sometimes the devils are in the details, and the voters can decide which character setup they like better should they wish to choose between one of the two lists. :)

I hate Lizardmen, lots of crap that doesn't mean anything points wise, but will still kill or inconvenience you. So lets play that game and see if we don't come up trumps.

2500 Pts - Ogre Kingdoms Roster

Slaughtermaster
. . 1 Slaughtermaster,  (General; Immune to Poison; Ogre Charge; Level 4 Upgrade; Hand Weapon; Causes Fear; Stomp)
. . . . 1 Lore of the Great Maw
. . . . 1 Dispel Scroll
. . . . 1 Talisman of Preservation

We need a big caster so we are at least close to opposing the Slann's magic phase. Why a dispell scroll? I've seen too my opponent's roll lots of dice yet fail to come up boxcars, so its for those occasions.

Firebelly
. . 1 Firebelly, (Always Strikes Last; Blessing of the Volcano God; Fire Breath; Ogre Charge; Level 2 Upgrade; Hand Weapon; Great Weapon; Causes Fear; Flaming Attacks; Stomp)
. . . . 1 Channeling Staff
. . . . 1 Talisman of Endurance

Flaming Breath to roast some lizards and hopefully an extra dice to dispell Throne of Vines. also will be throwing out magic missiles at any small units that present themselves.

Bruiser
. . 1 Bruiser (Battle Standard Bearer),(Look Out Gnoblars; Ogre Charge; Hand Weapon; Ironfist; Battle Standard Bearer; Lookout Gnoblar x1; Causes Fear; Stomp)
. . . . 1 Armour of Destiny

Never leave home without one.

Hunter
. . 1 Hunter,  (Loner; Ogre Charge; Great Throwing Spear; Hand Weapon; Causes Fear; Stomp)
. . . . 1 Glittering Scales
. . . . 1 Longstrider

Will deploy with a unit of 5 Sabertusks and potentially jump one of the Salamander units.

Leadbelchers (3)
. . 3 Leadbelchers, (Ogre Charge; Bellower Mus; Hand Weapon; Leadbelcher Gun; Light Armour; Causes Fear; Stomp)

Leadbelchers (3)
. . 3 Leadbelchers, (Ogre Charge; Bellower Mus; Hand Weapon; Leadbelcher Gun; Light Armour; Causes Fear; Stomp)

Sabertusks (5)
. . 5 Sabretusks, (Running With the Pack; Their Master's Voice; Causes Fear)

Sabertusks (3)
. . 3 Sabretusks, (Running With the Pack; Their Master's Voice; Causes Fear)

Sabertusks (3)
. . 3 Sabretusks (Running With the Pack; Their Master's Voice; Causes Fear)

Sabertusks (3)
. . 3 Sabretusks (Running With the Pack; Their Master's Voice; Causes Fear)

Sabertusks (3)
. . 3 Sabretusks (Running With the Pack; Their Master's Voice; Causes Fear)

The mission of the Leadbelchers and Sabertusks will be to clean up all the small units before moving in to help against the larger blocks by worrying the flanks.

Ironblaster
. . 1 Ironblaster, (Causes Fear; Chariot; Large Target)
. . . . 1 Gnoblar Scrappers (Hand Weapon)
. . . . 1 Leadbelcher
. . . . 1 Rhinox (Causes Fear)

Will shoot the Ancient until it cries uncle.

Ogres (10)
. . 10 Ogres, (Look Out Gnoblars; Ogre Charge; Bellower Mus; Standard Bearer Std; Lookout Gnoblar x1; Hand Weapon; Ironfist; Light Armour; Causes Fear; Stomp)

Ironguts (8)
. . 8 Ironguts, (Always Strikes Last; Look Out Gnoblars; Ogre Charge; Bellower Mus; Standard Bearer Std; Lookout Gnoblar x1; Great Weapon; Heavy Armour; Causes Fear; Stomp)
. . . . 1 Dragonhide Banner

I am confident of the Ogre Infantry smashing through every one of the Lizardmen blocks. The gameplan will consist of a slow advance giving me time to deal with the chaff and then I will endeavor to enact multiple charges for example leading with the Ogres and then following up with a Sabertusk pack or two to try and run down anything that chooses to flee.
