Impact hits on mounts

original thread ↗

Brawlerguts seems to be allowing impact hits for hunters on a stonehorn. As does the beast rider rule on page 53 of the army book. 4d3+5 with 11+ charge roll and wallcrusher big name. That change anyone's opinion about the duo? Discuss.
I'm not seeing that interpretation, I'm afraid. I agree the wording of Brawlerguts is confusing, but I think it's meant to imply specifically that you can't take Brawlerguts with your hunter and then re-roll failed wound rolls for the Stonehorn. If the Stonehorn was killed and the hunter survived, then you could use Brawlerguts.

Brawler guts is very clear. Pg 61 ok book
"Brawlerguts (but not their mounts) re-roll failed to wound rolls from their impact hits"

I don't see how that's confusing. The stone horn dose not get to reroll impact hits.

The beast rider rull has nothing to do with hunters. The first sentence of the rule is "unless taken as a mount for a hunter"

The hunter dosnt even get to use his impact hit if mounted.
Ogre charge pg 32 ok book:  "each monstrous infantry model on foot..."
Well, confusing in the sense that it can be read as "something, but not its mount, gets to reroll impact wounds", so I was trying to clarify that this wasn't the intended meaning, since anything on a mount would lose impact hits. It would be better worded if it said "Brawlerguts re-roll failed to wound rolls from their impact hits. This is not conferred upon any mount they may have."

As you say, the ogre charge rule is pretty clear that a mounted hunter (or beast rider) won't contribute any impact hits.

Guess I shoulda read the ogre charge rule. Clear as day. Thanks
