Shaven bonebreaker issue

original thread ↗

Hi guys, quick one for you all.

My unit of mournfangs charge 56 clanrats. Under normal circumstances this means fear check time when combat rolls round.

But there's a warlord on bonebreaker (causes fear) in the front rank.

As the BRB states that fear - fear means no test, it would be assumed the warlord is fine. But he's in a unit that IS subject to the test and any rules for the character unless otherwise noted don't confer to the unit.

So how would this work? We had three options in mind:

1 - the whole unit doesn't test as part of the overall unit is immune to the test (the clanrats feel safer knowing there's a big monster on their side)

2 - the warlord/bonebreaker is immune, the unit tests. ( the warlord doesnt care, the clanrats are soiling themselves as they are about to munched by mountain cats)

3 - the whole unit tests, warlord included, as they are treated as a combined unit and the minority causes fear. (the warlord realises that his underlings are tiny, the foe is huge, and his oven is still on somewhere...)

Thoughts?
The answer is 2). If the unit fails, then its weapon skill is reduced to 1, but the character and mount's WS remains as normal.
Bulls have grey skin. 'Nuff said.
The baron is correct.

Note: great mental image of someone trying to shave a rat ogre :)
