ITP & Majority

original thread ↗

so i'm thinking of running four maneaters in the old school way:  Stubborn & ITP, then teaming them up with a 4 characters for a ministar.

ITP says if the majority of the unit is ITP then the whole unit is ITP.

Does half count a majority or will i have to run one more to start for ITP to be in effect right away?

Majority means 50.0000000000000000000000000001% or more.

Also, as soon as you loose one to shooting you've lost ITP.

Mercules is 100% correct on both counts.

Or just make one of the Characters a Tyrant with Mawseeker. Then you have your ITP straight away!

How is that?
The unit he is in still has to have in the majority the ITP rule.

4 models with ItP naturally, the mawseeker tyrant makes the unit stupid, thereby making all members ItP following the stupidity rules.  As long as he stays in the unit then it is ItP.

I was more thinking that the Tyrant, as he is Stupid, also has ITP - making 5 in a unit of 8 being ITP. I didn't particularly want to bring up the stupid = ITP unit debate again.

Under the rules for Stupidity it states that models that have the stupidity rule are ITP.
It then goes on to say that if a model with Stupidity is in a unit you do a test for the unit, it doesn't say that the full unit gains Stupidity and therefore not ITP.

Or did I miss a FAQ?

Although later in the description it talks about the warriors (plural) succumbing to stupidity, so maybe they are all considered to have stupidity.   :?

yep, when a stupid character joins a unit they are treated as a single unit (called a combined unit) and the unit makes a stupidity test.

just as adding a stubborn character to a unit makes the unit stubborn, the same is true for a stupid character since the only effect of the stupidity roll is the requirement for a stupidity test at the start of each turn.  pass or fail, it is the unit that is making the test, and therefore the unit that is stupid.  no FAQ required.

Nonsense.

Stupidity has two effects.

One is to make the model Immune to Psychology.
The other is to require the unit to take a Stupidity test.

Only models with the rule are ItP, the unit simply suffers the effects of a failed test.
okay, got my answer, lets not start this again.... let's just lock this up.
