New Book Trappers Scout/skirmish?

original thread ↗

Hi guys,

Might seem like a silly question but it doesn't specifically state anywhere if the trapper upgrade provides scout/skirmish anymore.

My use of them does depend on this; they can't protect a flank if they can't keep up with my cavalry/main block.

Thanks
There are no scouting Gnoblars anymore. You pay the points for the dangerous terrain tests. I use mine as a charge screen in front of my Leadbelchers.

I was born and bred in a briar patch!
Bugger!

I'm running dual cav, brace maneaters, IG deathstar and single sabretusks.

Trying badly to find core worth spending 163 points on and trappers seemed perfect. Don't think they are going to do much to help my movement 9 banner'd cavalry. Unit size restrictions are my bane!

Oh well, back to the drawing board!
I would take 3x12 gnobblars with trappers just to get more entry points. Let them charge Eagles or go and die on scouts. Always fun. I used once in a congaline to block fast cavs. They can be lucky in SS. :)
On a voyage through exotic India I met a Guru after been traveling through the jungle for 30 days. He hadn't been eating for three years straight and he spent 18 hours of meditation each day. It took him great effort and time to formulate the following winding word:

Quote
"You learn far more from negative leadership than from positive leadership. Because you learn how not to do it. And, therefore, you learn how to do it."

My response: Where’s the Pub?

I have seen this trick being mentioned several times in these forums. Is there something I am missing? wouldn't the gnoblars give hard cover to anything the Leadbelchers are trying to shoot at if they plan on sitting in front of the Leadbelchers? To hit on 6+ won't give you alot of kills.
To give cover to the LB's or thier targets the Gnoblars have to cover 50% of the LB's.  They don't, so this means no penalties when shooting your LB's :D but also no penalties for your opponent shooting AT your LB's :(.

The Gnoblars (with trappers) only act as a scary speed bump for an enemy unit that wants to charge the LB's.
There is only news.  There is no good or bad.
Thanks, I didn't think of that :)
