I have only just got the new book and my first observation is that our characters have been weakened with the cost and limited options in the Ogre Book.
So I thought I would start this thread to see what new /old builds people are using? in light of the new book.
Maybe a a second Firebelly, Hunter or Bruiser as extra?

Option 2 SM Firebelly BSB
This is what I'm planning on for the last month our our escalation league which is 2000 points. If we went up to 2500 I like the idea of a level 1 Butcher on Beasts for the signature spell.

I like the double Tyrant double Firebelly build idea.

At 2500, most of my games have been Tyrant, SM, BSB setup, though I am strongly considereing dumping the Slaughtermaster for a Firebelly, greatly freeing up some points. Here is what I am presently running, for gear sets:
Tyrant- Fencing Blades, Heavy Armor, Greedy Fist, Giant Breaker Slaughtermaster- L4, Scroll Bruiser- BSB, Armor of Silvered Steel, Luckstone, Great Weapon
I cannot say enough good things about the Tyrant, as 6 S7 swings that hit at WS10 in initiative order will put the fear of god into most things in the game, especially when it comes to challenges. People who think the Tyrant is a point sink need to play around with this guy and see the psychological effect he has on the game.
I have started to dump the SM in favor of a Firebelly and I have to say that fire is a much more workable lore, especially if you pull either flame cloak or sword of ruin. I run him with either the Stubborn Crown + Sceptre of Stability (highly underrated item) or the Hellheart, displacing him to the second rank of my Iron Guts (where my BSB often resides). The two games I have used it, the Hellheart was way better than having a L4 for magic defense. Once I get over my Stonehorn fetish, I will probably add a second Firebelly and pump up my maneaters in size.

Phazael one draw back with dumping the SM is you will need to take a Butcher as one of the replacement casters as one of them needs to take the Lore of the Great Maw (what a mouthful, I think Gut Magic is easier to say).

As long as he doesn't intend to take a butcher or SM with a different lore, he doesn't need one with LotGM. Firebelly is exempt from that restriction.

Yep the above post is true.
I first thought you required a butcher/SM to field a FB, but just checking the book you don't.
Cheers,

Ye I overlooked the fact that you can take 1 or 2 Firebelly's with no SM's or Butchers.

I admit I'm running a very different list, but I'm going as follow:
Tyrant BSB 2 Firebellies
So far, it's working out really well. The lack of magical offense (2 level 1s doesn't equate to much) hasn't been hurting much, seeing as how the magic defense is so darned good.
