Da ´Orde ov Fire Mountain

Well,thought i might start one of theese.
After playing O&G for quite a while i needed some change of play.
So i thought that the ogres would be fun army to paint.
Though being sickly inlove with green i thought i would make a twist.
Making my OK into allies to my O&G.
They both live on the same Mountain,Fire Mountain.
And through the toxic fumes and strange magical powers coming from the ruler of the Mountain,Smellbarrel the Oh-so-mighty-one-and-a-´alf:Right hand of Mork (Gork on Thursdays),theire skin have changed from the normal pale grey to a dark,dark green.
Thinking themselfs as the kinbrothers of the Orcs and Goblins,they believe that they where both created for a greater cause (wich no-one really knows.But bashing things sounds like a good one...).

So by basing my army on that,alot of O&G bitz and thinglings will be used and the skin of the Ogres painted dark green.
This far i have bought a unit of Bulls and assembled and sprayed them all.
Pictures of what i have done and a test head and arm to show you the way they are going to be painted will be upp soon (Gotta reload the camera...).

Lookin good so far, nice bases.

Skin tone is a bit dark for my liking but that is just me.

Can't wait to see somethin completely painted

imho, the skin tone is very dark and you will need to highlight them much if you want a pretty ogre

the bases are very good.

Looks a bit too dark for me as well. I like some bright contrasts and highlights.

I like it.....but I also like bright skin...really bright skin......

if you want to portray them as grenn you will need to make it a bit lighter[the skin tone]

Actually I rather like it, it makes sence to use a dark color for someone from a place called "fire mountain"

Yes,the skin is very dark.But i started thinking in O&G ways,the bigger you are,the darker you get ^^.But the skin will be a little brighter .
And sadly enough i vahe very bad lighting at home so the highlights on that one don´t really show    .

Oh,and the bases are really simple ^^.
I can explain now,or give you a Step-By-Step in a few weeks .
The big rock aint really a rock,it´s just a piece of bark.(Surprised?,no,did´nt think so... )
And the bases itself are just some very rough sand i found in a hill .It´s really good .

Well,i need to keep this topic going so i started on a Bull ^^.
So i´ll give you all a WIP pic of Redfist the Bull.
The only thing that is finished on him is the skin tough ^^.

Oh,and the Right hand was just a thing i tried,it´ll disaper when it´s done ^^.

So,whats left on him is:
Teeth,
Red trousers,
Green Moon on Gutplate,
Painting the right hand red,
Base,
Finishing everything small ^^.

How about you do a white/blue checkered or stripe trousers? Kind of add a bit of a gothic feeling to it.  Anyone remember the story of Brunhilde? =D

I must say I like the green skin tone. I did not think at first it would work on Ogres, but it looks very good.

The only suggestion I would make is a vibrant color somewhere to give a good contrast. Perhaps a light beard to really enhance the dark green skin.

these ogres are going to look great - HULK SMASH!! is the thought going through my head!  DON'T CHANGE THEM!!!! PLEASE!!!

I'm just glad they didn't end up looking shrek like with donkey sidekicks

He aint totaly done though.I need to get a bronze colour for the sword and finish the wrapping on it .

only real thought is that I'd try and get the fist redder than the pants - but I love it!

the skin is really nice with this dark green. and I would also make the fist brighter, like the blood dipped fists from the army book. looking forward for the rest of the army ^.^

i still think that the weels are to triangel like! ^^ seriously, the color rocks dude! the colors are perfect for ogres^^ and yeah, the fist could be more light-red than the other parts, then it is really clear why the name is redfist:P

The skin on him is done.It became alot brighter than the least one.But i kinda like it ^^.It gives it this ´ordy feel even though it is´nt a horde ^^.

I really like the green skin....it's nice..and original!

I love the squig.....very nice and well painted.

I like the squig, maybe more suited on the Tyrant though...What would be cool is if there was a pair of gnoblar legs sticking out of the squigs mouth lol

The Gnoblar legs ra egoing to be used fpr my Gorger conversion.
I will make some kind of  Ogre Herder with 2 Squigs in chains.I think it´ll be viable ^^.I don´t know what i´ll use for the Bruiser/Tyrants base.
Maybe some more squigs,but it wont look so special when so many of my units already have them.I´m thinking of making him with alot of small conversions.
But i need to get small pipes,small chains and such.But i still cant figure out what to do with the base.Standing on a rock is how far i have gotten now.

Any suggestions ?.

He should have a gnoblar fanatic! Except the ball and chain is chained to the gnoblars neck.

Yeah ^^.I´m gonna have a Fanatic in the middle of the unit of Runtz (Gnoblars,Snotlings and some Night Goblins.Counts as Gnoblars ^^.)
Smacking some gnoblars around or something ^^.
But the Fanatic idea sounds good...
I know!.Maybe i´ll make the Tyrant into one big bad ass Fanatic .
That´ll be scary as hell   .

I´m already gonna do the "Butchers" with hoods so i´ll get some training for that ^^.The Butchers are just gonna be big Shamans ^^.

That´ll be fun as hell ^^.I´m not gonna rush this army .
I might have to go back and do some conversions on thoose i´ve already finished later,but probably not .
