i havent got my book yet store sold out, so it coming in 2 days now, but why are Thundertusk/Stonehorn both a Rare Unit and a Lords and Heroes unit

Thundertusk is always rare. Stonehorn is rare unless you put a Hunter on it, in which case it is a Hero choice.

sooo in theory in a 2400 point game i could run 2 normal Stonehorns in rare and 1 Stonehorn with hunter on it in hero

Yep. You could do it in 2000pts for a laugh.
I don't suffer from mental instability. In fact, I enjoy it immensely.

yea we got a guy in the club that runs a 2 Stegadon and a Ancient Stegadon in comps soo was thinking of doing the same thing to him that he does to everyone else

We had a guy at a tourney at easter playing 5 stegadons and then just skinks, I think he placed top 5 or something.

Though Stegadons do benefit from being stubborn and clod blooded, so the chance of them breaking is almost nothing, Stonehorns unfortunately do not get this benefit.
