Maw Of The Upside Down Mountain (new army picture)

hey there Tyrants, Bulls and the Gnoblars.
here i will start posting pictures from my Ogre Kingdoms Army, and hopefully get some pointers, comments and positive reactions

i started this army since it came out but after some schemes and failures with getting the project going i can now say i have a decent amount of painted ogres, and well now i am waiting for my order with the new models arrive containing 2 Stonehorn kits, 1 mournfang kit for the bitz, 1 ironblaster, golgfag and bragg. and offcourse the book and the magic cards.

I like the army. The spearmen are great, and everything is well painted (though another highlight on the skin wouldn't hurt). The real winner here is the firebelly though.

thanks, only i gotta repaint the spells with the new book on its way hope they are not to long by name, or else i got to paint the effect of the spell on them
i made about 12 spellmarkers and 40 woundmarkers (the small rond bases) its fun to too when the washes are drying and easy!

seeing the bitz in the new boxes i am really in the mood to make another unit of ironguts with all those new armour plates, helmets, gutplates and great weapons
well lets first get to gluing, beginning with a stonehorn and ironblaster and Bragg (he is so awsome)
its also my first batch of finecast miniatures and well i dont know if i like it Bragg is weapons feels so fragile...
any of you guys have the same thoughts!?!?

well i think seeing the part we van be real happy with these new kits.

my stonehorn will feature the metal hunter (converted offcourse) in a little howdah made from a spare skaven bell kit. hope to get to building it soon and posting some pictures.

All finecast weapons are going to feel fragile because the material is so light. But it is really pretty durable.
And nice haul.

Looking forward to meeting these guys on the battlefield again!

also as proof that i build a stonehorn or thundertusk for the achievements 

the new characters off course the awesome new models, even if they are finecast. 
i removed the skull from golgfag's feet just because i really start to get annoyed by all those extra skulls.
and a metal tyrant with some new bitz, a gutplate some mordheim handguns a shield from the minotaurs  and the head from the FW rhinoxrider, still needs some greenstuffing to do on him


took my time to remove a lot of moldlines from this guy i picked up at gamesday last year to add to my maneaters. still too bad they removed the ironfist from the maneater equipment


this will make it easier to paint could not bear the fact that the best and richest leadbelcher of my tribe didnt at least has one eye blasted away from his face! so took a spare leadbelcher head and used it instead.


the thundertusk!!! i love it played with it once and well i kicked the crap out of a unit of ghouls with a supporting unit of 12 ogres! switched some gutplates and a head just to ad some parts to make it more blend with the rest of the armystyle

and a beastman banner ( i love the beastman banners!! and the minotaur bitz)


still trying to figure out witch head, i think it will become the head from the mournfang champion cause its bigger then the other heads and well a hunter should be bigger then the avarage ogre. first i wanted to build a howdah on its back with the metal hunter but i could not make it work!


also i am with a friend working on the 4 lovely fulcrums for an upcoming storm of magic battle


now let me finish those 12 spearman so i can start painting the new additions!!

well another update since my long trip to Gamesday

Still need a better idea or spot to take the pictures 

finally deceided how my stonehorn and his hunter will look, still not all that happy with it but i will do till i find a bigger / better model for a hunter.


starter my bragg, he;s going to get a very light skin compared to the rest since he is a bit of a wanderer in the kingdoms. so far hes basecoated and washed so only the highlights before he is finished!

speaking of Bragg look what i bought a Bugmans Bar in Warhammer World



The Horde!!!!!! also ready for highlights!

well its not warpaint but weathering on the armour/metals.
the bulls are spearman, but with those bigger weapons i can see why people will think they could be ironguts instead

Whoops, I'm so sorry! I see it now, it's really good weathering. Maybe make it more turquoise-ish though, I don't think verdigris (I think it's called that) is that blue?

well actually it is hawk turquoise
but well my camera and lighting sucks

on verdigris, i think a lighter color in the crevice would really help it.

or better lighting....

i think it will be the lighting in real life it looks good, and dont forget i still need to highlight the armour a bit

a small update, since i been a bit busy with other stuff 40k  actually 

so here it is i finished my Firebelly


and did a lot of painting on my Thundertusk!
just the crew and all the horns need to be highlighted

and 12 chaos hounds! well 10 and then being "guided" by a hunter


and undercoated my stonehorn since the 12th of november my local club will be having a Storm of Magic day. 2 games against random opponents and i wanna be fielding as much big creatures a i have

small update without pics.

had a productive weekend
friday i recieved an order with Grausus, empire maneater and another butcher. and after that i did the following
- build butcher and is now allready washed
- finished 10 chaos hounds and hunter for SOM
- basecoated and washed my stonehorn
- finished 3 yethees for SoM
- started building Greasus
- almost done with painting the Thundertusk (those horns are killing me)
- and my girlfriend painted the Arabian Carpet with a nice motiv!!

pics will follow later this week since next saturday i will have a SoM tournament at my local store and i want to have it all painted. so i will make a picture of the army i will take before playing with it
