i have a question witch came up the other night. what happens when a leadbelcher unit makes a stand and shoot charge reaction and they end up killing themselves? do the charger just stop where they would have made contact or would it be a failed charge due to the squad not actually making contact with the unit when they are destroyed

I would say there was 2 possible outcomes.
1. within 12 inch range of cannon treat as a failed charge, move the highest of the 2d6.
2. outwith 12inch range move up to the 12 inch range of the cannon and then stop since that is when the shot would be fired.

That's a failed charge, full stop. You don't play it like the second possibility Fathead. In this case, the formerly charging unit realize that the charge is impossible and go back to its original standing + the highest of the 2d6.

The only real limit on the effectiveness of gnoblars is the owner's tolerance for painting so many of them.

Thats fair enough. When I re-read my original post I realised it was redundant since if a unit succesfully charged from outside 12 inches, even with a failed charge would be inside the 12 afterwards.
just ignore me lol
