"Someone ta see ya, Boss."
Durang sighed heavily, setting down the rhinox leg he was gnawing on. "Dey got past da guards?"
"Not exactly. She be standing just outside da camp. She stopped just as she came within sight, and asked ta speak wi' da tyrant. Dat's you. So, I come ta gets ya."
Durang's brow furrowed. "She?"
"Yeah. A thinling too. Didn't want ta talk ta me, said this was more important enough ta not be talking to da Bruiser."
Again, Durang sighed. "All right," he grumbled, his bulk rippling as he stood. "Where is she?"
"East gate, Boss."
The tyrant departed. After a moment, the messenger picked up the rhinox leg the tyrant was eating, only to have it snatched away as Durang reached in to grab it.
Outside, another ogre fell into step behind his tyrant.
"You want something, Ferurg?"
Ferurg nodded, and wiped his hands on the bloody piece of cloth across his belly. "I know you have a visitor. And, she not be as week as de other thinlings. Da Maw is grumbling; dere be strange magic around."
Durang stopped. "And so, you want ta meet her also?"
The Slaughtermaster nodded. "Da Maw told me things. She may be a powerful ally."
The tyrant nodded. "Fine. We talk to her together."
Within moments, the two were standing in front of a rather unusual woman. She was tall, by human standards - perhaps 6 feet - with vibrant red hair. She was clad in a green loincloth and a silver bustier, and little else. She was covered in blue tattoos, including an odd three-spiraled one on her belly, around her navel. She was leaning on her staff in front of a covered bundle as the tyrant and his slaughtermaster approached.
"You are the tyrant?" she asked, in somewhat broken Ogre.
Durang nodded. "Yeah. And who are you?"
The woman stood and bowed deep and respectfully. "I am a simple Truthspeaker, wandering the mountains of you and your brothers. I have..."
"Not ta be rude, but ya can stop da flowery speech. We're ogres, not da thinlings of da Empire. Who are ya, and whadaya want?"
This seems to have upset the Truthspeaker, and she frowns. "I am Hildegart. As your butchers and slauughtermaster might know, the Winds of Magic are storming right now."
Ferurg nodded. "True dat. Da Maw be particularly upset over dis."
"OK, but how does dat affect you and us?"
"I've come to help your tribe out."
Durang frowned. "Why would a thinling want ta help out da ogres? Especially us?"
Hildegart smiled, "My reasons are my own, Tyrant. Suffice it to say that..."
"You want ta get back to da Homeland."
Hildegart sighed as Ferurg interjected. "Yes, I want to get back to my Homeland. But, to do that, I need command of greater magics than I alone can muster. I need help. In return, I will use my magics in your employ. And, as a peace offering, I present you this..." She reaches back, tearing off the tarp covering the lump behind her to reveal a dead mammox. "An offering for a Feast, should you accept of not."
Durang narrowed his eyes. "You get someone else ta kill dat mammox?"
"No, Boss. She killed it herself."
From out of the woods, two sabertusks bounded, each one heading towards the tyrant. They slowed as they reached the tyrant, each one rubbing against his legs and purring. Behind them emerged another ogre, a hunter.
"I saw. I was tracking dat mammox dere, when she came out. I dunno how she dided it, but she became a cham... chimar... dat three-headed beastie thing..."
"A chimera."
"Yeah. Dat thingie. Den, she make quick work of it."
Durang nodded. "Den you be strong, even for a thinling. So, why you come to us?"
Hinlegart smiled, and leaned on her staff again. "I hear things. That the Bloodmaw clan has the closest connection to The Great Maw. If I'm to return to my Homeland, I'm going to need very strong magic, and only the best of the best can command the Winds... especially when they storm like they are now."
Durang laughed. "I think I like you, thinling... er, Hildegart. You strong, and you can talk good! Come, we talk about what you need, and we feast tonight! Fuzghalg! Brother! Tell the rest of da clan dat da Bloodmaw are going ta war!"
Durang sighed heavily, setting down the rhinox leg he was gnawing on. "Dey got past da guards?"
