Painting Competition- MANEATER (Raaaa!)

original thread ↗

Hey everyone!

Welcome to the painting Contest!

Down to the nitty gritty.....What do you win?
Apart from bragging rights, you get the Bigname MANEATER applied to your profile if you win.
This is one of the only ways of getting a Bigname, so well worth winning.
1st place also gets 2 Pet Gnoblars.
2nd place gets 2 Pet Gnoblars, but no Bigname.
Everyone who enters will get a Pet Gnoblar!

What are the rules?

1)Well the Bigname that is up for grabs is MANEATER.
To convey this in the painting comp, your entry must be a Non-Warhammer GW model, Warhammer is the home game for us Ogres so having other systems/manufactures models proves you've been out there and discovering the world beyond the Mountains of Mourn  ;)

So, to recap;

-Non-Warhammer GW model
-Must be of a GW chariot sized base or smaller (the GW bit is just size reference)
This is to hopefully make the contest fairer (it's hard to judge a small figure VS a Forgeworld monstrosity)

If you're not sure you can enter your model, just PM me and I'll let you know.

2) You're entry has to be something that you've not posted here before, fine if you've just posted WIP's and not the finished item.
If you've only just posted something suitable in the last week, it'll be allowed in because that would be annoying.
Generally this is to see new stuff from you guys or to insipre you to finish your awesome unfinished models.

3) When your entry is finished, put the pics in a PM to me and I'll post in a entrants thread when the contest is finished.
The best way of doing this would be to just give me a direct link to each your images from an image hoster.
DO NOT POST IMAGES HERE!
Limit of one entry per member.
Maximum of 3 images per entry.

4)The contest is open from now until the closing date of 21:00 Wednesday June 8th

5)The winners will be judged by you guys in the form of a Poll, the person with the most votes wins, second most takes....you guessed it second place.
People voting should vote for the one they like best, taking into consideration the painting technique, conversions and the general look of the finished article.

Anyone can enter, regardless of how good you think you are at painting/modelling, this contest is for fun and to be part of it, a great way to test your painting/modelling skills or give you that much needed motivation to get stuff painted!

Get painting!   :maw:

Just non-Warhammer.

So 40k, bloodbowl, forgeworld and of course anything further afield that you have found  ;)

I'm in too BTW, the model has been finished for a while, but needs basing.
Not my finest paint job, but a painted non-warhammer model none-the-less.

so when you say non-warhammer... you mean warhammer fantasy?

because, you know, 40k is warhammer 40k :P
My Blog
Am I to believe that some other company is attempting to make miniatures?... I'll believe it when I see it... Oh! Wait... I guess there are some others...

Ok. I'm down.

Exactly, Warhammer 40k is precisely that, 'Warhammer 40k, not 'Warhammer'.
It might sound the same but is entirely different and doesn't even come close to being as awesome a game as it's earlier released, more grown-up, Fantasy counterpart.
 :P
(my dislike for 40k is in well-meaning jest btw everyone  ;) )

Do models from other systems, that have been converted to be used in WHFB count? If not I'll just use something a little less ostentatious.

Their tears will be a perfect addition to the Butcher's cauldron.
Yes, that's fine TUM Bob.

Just no Warhammer models from GW.

Greetings,

I'm thinking of using Talanka Female Ogre Shaman from Reaper but wanted to make sure I still could if she's heavily converted.

If that's alright, I would like to enter
Nothing wrong with conversions! It's starting as a non-Warhammer model and is only becoming more so, give it a go!

Such a bummer. Didn't manage to get mine finished or painted because of some excessive hot weather here. 100 degrees F does not make good painting weather...

Painting in hot weather sucks RD, luckily I don't have that problem here in the UK  ;)
