I chose light armour for some protection and iron fist for the flexibility.
@mercules for a tournament, where you're going to meet different armies with the same list, what would you choose?

Personally I would use the Iron Fist + Light Armour against in an all-comers list as there are a lot of S3 creatures, or creatures with multiple attacks at lower STR/ that have poison (Ghouls and Witch Elves to name a few) where you will really need the extra save. I'm also in the process of writing an article for the Bellower about the benefit of the extra attacks from a second hand weapon/ I.F. against certain enemies, and though I havn't used this option much myself I put that down to inexperience and a cautious nature on my part as I always perfer to use the multiple save options from shield + parry.

What point level? What else am I bringing? What scenarios are being used? What is my army going for?
Those are the circumstances.
If I wanted a bunch of Large Gnoblar blocks for Steadfast to tie up opponents then I might bring one unit of Bulls set up with IF/LA and then several small naked Bull units to get the Gnoblars and have for diversions and flanking.
Typically I field them with IF/LA for flexibility but I have played in 250 and 500 Warband tournaments and in both cases I fielded them naked simply for the point savings.

I agree with this whole heartedly; I use them at 2000k (and above) with IF + LA for flexibility and insurance, at smaller points levels the fact that it is an optional upgrade comes into play more, as at those points levels the cost of the average Ogre body becomes incrementally more of a factor; as with other equipment and character upgrades it isn't something to throw on without thought at lower points costs, but most units end up scrimping on equipment/ command characters/ magical items at those times.

since hordes of cheap infantry are common now-a-days i prefer the added protection against the 30+ attacks coming my way. im the person that is willing to spend the extra points to protect the already high point cost model.

the options it gives you are nice.
if i have loads of points i might get LA, but rarely do i do that.

I'd include light armour if I had the points, but that parry save comes in handy a LOT.

I used to run Ironfists and Light Armor. But then I realized that in pretty much all circumstances, I was just going with the extra attack. So I dropped to just extra hand weapon and saved the points.
I just run them naked, 35pts for an ogre with armor piercing is not a bad deal.

I normally run with ironfists, so I can choose for a save or for an extra attack.
If I run horde I take naked bulls, but I rarely have the points.

I run mines nekkid.
My 2500 pt list has 18 nekkid bulls for 630 points. for those points I could only get 14.5 bulls with LA/IF. I don't value the parry save so much b/c I am working hard to always have trollguts up on my unit that is in most peril. Just my humble opinion, but I love lotsa ogre bodies on the table.

one reason i don't run mine naked is because i would need ALOT more bull models(I only have 27 )
otherwise, i would be taking 3 min-sized bull hordes to 'Ard Boyz. perhaps i'll post a list for the lulz.

i streak.... i mean, run naked.... that is i run my bulls naked.
i do so because i like to run so many of them, the cheaper hey are the more you get.
