OK can be competitive at a tournament, I just tell kids i'm going to beat them up in the parking lot if they win.
The last one was particulary annoying because the weapon he was holding gave me all kind of problem to paint, and i ended up just trying something and leaving it as is...

But the good news is that i did finish Calzag, and have Druzzt built and primed. My goal is to at least paint him up this month.

Love the aboriginal body paint!..

If by RAW, you mean "Reg06's Audacious Whims", then you'd be right.

Base are gonna be swamp/jungle based. But i'm aiming for bases built within a presentation tray, so they are very far from ready to be done. I have tons of idea about that tray, and i hope it will be as epic as i imagine...

I went a bit crazy last night, between Nurgle Ogres drying Brown stuff, and decided to build myself a Savage Black Orc. I know it sound stupid said like that, but since i wanna follow my theme of savage orc, i figured if i can make a savage looking Black Orc, i'll at least follow my theme visually.

It's really just a kit bashing, of a Savage orc with various left over from their sprue. I think it look nice, or at least, good enough to be painted.

The plan is to have only one for now, and if i like the final result, i might consider making a whole unit of them.

My Blog
Thank you for making that mini, because it is something I've been wondering about how to do.
Are there enough bitz leftover for you to do a unit though?

well, there's 10 shield / box.

I think its possible to do 2 with a box (considering i want a "face" on the shield and on the back).

so if i want 40 Savage, i need 5 box, so 10 Black Orcs. Those bits are pretty easy to come by on ebay too, so if i really decide to go that route, i think i wouldnt have to invest too much more (compared to buying boxes of Black Orcs)

Druzzt is nearly finished. A few details left, stone and warpaint, and he's done.

and another group shot

To break a bit from the monotony of Orcs, i decided to start on my arachnarok.

I'm open to idea on which style i should pick.

A peacock spider. Very nice color, but i'm affrad it'd be too bright for my Orcs.

What you guys think?

After being freaked out by bugs... I would say your favourite is the way to go.  It is a rich orangy yellow that would look great on the field and comes close to the shaman's inner headfeathers.

Metaphorgotten: A metaphor is a train, a high speed train that takes you from concept A to B, easily derails and serves overpriced sandwiches.
I was just minding my own business, enjoying looking at your models when you ambush us with real spiders. I didn't even know there were some spiders like the ones you posted. T_T

...as for which one, the spiky one, spikes=Orky. Though usually in nature, the brighter and more exotic colored a species is, the more deadlier they tend to be in terms of poison.
Things happen, people die... usually when I'm around.

so 2nd one? i really like the look of that one, but i'm not 100% sold on how it would look on an arachnarok.
My Blog
Ha ha ha... The one with the red spikes is awesome, alien almost.

Nice Orcs BTW.
My hood is my castle...
Gasteracantha cancriformis.

definately look like a winner now... i just goggled it, and wow, on a much larger scale, that would be awesome looking, i think.

I've got a spider to paint, and I'm having the same issue of colour. I think I'm going to go for a black/yellow mix I found on a Google search, though I'd be interested to see how yours comes out.

It's not really original enough, as crazy as it may sound.

I'd really like to find one that hasnt been done before (and not just because its awefully ugly) :P

well, after much consideration, the little voice in my head saying "try this! try this!" decided it would be the Gasteracantha cancriformis.

The only real limit on the effectiveness of gnoblars is the owner's tolerance for painting so many of them.
