Well, I must say that the jungles of Lustria are anything but boring. Where do all these people come from? I'd always heard Lustria was a forboding land. Just yesterday we stubled across an old lizardman temple that had been long abandoned. Our unsubtle approach had apparently been noticed by some Orks looking for a good scrap. Here we go again!
The field of battle was rather barren with two sections of rubble off the sides halfway between armies. From left to right the Orks were: wolfboys, boarboys, *gap for rubble*, giant, boys, river trolls with common gobbos behind, biguns with Black Ork general, night gobbos and finally, Black Orks with great weapons. Thaargh showed his dimness in his motions. Three young bulls and four leadbelchers were already opposite the wolves and boars, but apparently Thaargh felt like pork so he joined the young bulls to give them some "experience". Right of Thaargh sat Gnoblars, Ironguts, Scraplauncher, Gnoblars, 5 bulls, butcher, 5 bulls and more gnoblars.
Seeing the drooling monstrosity that is Thaargh thundering towads them, the boarboys immediately changed their mind, travelling around the rubble to follow the giant up the middle. The goblins, apparently not informed of the new plan were blasted to oblivion by the Leadbelchers (*the first time I EVER had no misfires and actually did more damage than I took*). The scraplauncher crew fired rusty weapons into the boarboys, dropping three with spears in the eye just as the boarboys chased down the Gnoblars right in front of it. Smelling meat the Rhinox charged. Unfortunately the gnoblars had been lax in the management of its horns and the large layer of moss prevented its charge from impaling any orks, although it did manage to bite the head from one boar. Liking the taste it refused to run, although the ork boss in the unit nearly severed the scraplauncher from the rhinox's back. Meanwhile the Giant tried to play tag with the butcher and the two large ogre units charged the big un's and black orks respectively. Simultaneously the Ironguts thundered into the Orc boyx.
* Now for the good luck/bad luck * The ironguts struck like the foot of Gork himself, smashing, crushing and maiming 10 orks and chasing the remainder down. The bulls fighting the bigun's and their black orc leader also did well, smashing down five although the black orc boss more than evened the score. This led to the river trolls flanking and ended the matter. The bulls charging the Black Orcs, however, must have been suffering from a fever, only quelling three orks. The bulls tried to hold on on, but fled shortly thereafter, allowing the black orcs to cause some grevious damage to Golorg the butcher. The black orcs overran into the bulls, sending them fleeing again just as the sky opened and the light of Sigmar himself shone down upon the Ogre army.
We had known a pair of Gorgers had been following us lately, subsisting on scraps. Well, one must have been related to Thaargh as it charged into the boar boys just as they chased away the damaged scraplauncher and satiated rhinox. Ignoring the boars momentarily it bit the head from the Orc boss and slowly devoured the entire unit of four. Then the giant, looking for a new playmate started yelling at the Gorger who continued eating. But accross the table a miracle was a work. The gnoblars gathered their courage, led by the chosen of Thaargh himself, and charged the Black Orcs in the flank. Dragging one of the titanic armoured greenskins to the ground and eluding the clumsly return swings the Gnoblars not only broke the black orcs but traumatised them to the point where they fled the battle entirely (*failing to rally twice, once at ld9*). Charged by the trolls the gnoblars fought on valiently, losing members but causing supreme discomfort for the trolls. At one moment it looked like the rabid gnoblars would win, opening up two huge gouges in one of the trolls that failed to heal. The rivertrolls wavered before the thunderous roar of the warboss got their attention and they devoured the entire unit. Thaargh and his three bulls, the four Leadbelchers and the four Ironguts were swinging around to bring a finality to the battle, but the Orcs had had their fill and moved on to new things.
* Well, my first not loss 1 on 1 with my ogres. I made a draw despite my moronic deployment of Thaargh and actually lead by 12 VPs. And my neverending cheering for my Gnoblars finally paid off, dragging down a black orc and doing two wounds on the river trolls - with 6 attacks, hitting on 5s wounding on 6s. Too much fun! *

. Or how about gnoblars killing a Brettonian knight with sharp stuff?
