something to make your gnob mold line removing - just do upper surfaces. no one will be looking under their arms or staring at gnob crotch!

They still take forever. Probably the most unrewarding thing ever (especially when you try to rank them up!)
i am at 103 now and i have only 17 left

i did all the mold lines also under the arms
i think i will do the 17 under the arms to just to make them fit in

but really wished i would have thought of that this morning

but just saw that my ebay gnoblars have fine sand. so il get some of that next time i visit the shop

i only have medium and heavy sand on me. but i like the look of fine sand on gnoblars.
Painting 120 gnoblars in 24 hours. You better believe it
got my fine sand and army dip.
gonna start washing sometime soon.

In fact lets make this a competition.
i will see when i have a whole day for myself and i will try to do 100 gnoblars.
anyone willing to donate a pet gnoblar if i succeed in 100 gnoblars(already based and primed) in 1 day.

Hey Avantar, could you please use capital letters where they're needed, it just makes for easier reading, shows that you are making some effort in your posts and is one of the few standards we have here at the Stronghold.

OT;
You will have a pet and my respect if you can finish 100 Gnobs in 1 day.
Even more so with pics of them!  :D

Could be 2 hours if i do not see the need for brakes XD.

I was using normal gw washes on my test gnoblar.
Using blue on shirt, red on pants, and black on other stuff.

But somebody told me of this certain substance which transforms any paint into a wash.
I have almost all GW paints so could you guys post a few different colour schemes ?
I dont want the same colours on all of them.

Who knows mabey i will be able to do all 120 instead of 100 tomorrow.

does anybody know anything i could listen to or watch while i paint them.
I have already watched the entire dragonball series (which did not need much involvement on my part)
I also listened to all the podhammer podcasts from 8th.

i am now about to start the next batch of 20.

this is how the unfinished 20 look like

these are the finished 20

these need to be done

and these are the 40 that are done and almost done

here you can see the second 20 still drying and the third 20 halfway done.

i need to eat something now
Painting 120 gnoblars in 24 hours. You better believe it
And now the clock stands on 20:00.
2 more hours and i have done 12 hour painting with a total of 1 hour on brakes.

Anyway here are the 40 finished gnoblars.

Here are 20 gnoblars drying and waiting for their devlan mud wash

And the 20 i am starting now.
Painting 120 gnoblars in 24 hours. You better believe it
And its 22:00 now
i have been painting about 12 hours now and i have
40 finished
and 40 are drying and waiting for the final wash.

i said i would so 100 this day.
and it has been 12 hours.
but a day consists of 24 hours.

I love this.
You sir, are pretty much insane! (in a good way though!)

The quality/speed ratio is excellent too, they look better than I thought, pics are great too.
Are you carrying on through the night untill you reach the 100 mark with pics?

If so, do you mind if I put a link up in the Butcher's Cauldron?
I think you would get more views, and that's a good thing as more people need to see this!

I second the reccomendation of 'Bad dice' for a podcast, 'Heelanhammer' is a good listen too.

as of now it is 3:30.
i have been painting almost nonstop for 17.5 hours

here are the finished 80

these need to dry

and these 20 i am gonna work on now.

And now i have some bad news.

i am out of devlan mud. So i cant do the final layers of the last 40.
luckily this is the easieast part of the whole procces

note to self - deprivation of sleep effects my grammatic skills of the english languages.

done the skin of the final 20
Painting 120 gnoblars in 24 hours. You better believe it
HALLELUAH 6:13
4 hours before the deadline.

and here they are 120 gnoblars

if i had the devlan mud i could probably finish the 40 that are drying within 30-45 minutes or so.
so i have painted 20 hours straight and would paint 1 hour more if i had the paint.
so thats still well within the deadline.

120 gnoblars within 24 hours.
and though you dont quite see it on the foto's they look alright.
i will probably let someone who knows how to make foto;s do a few to show them better.

ps. 120 GNOBLARS FUCK YEAH

The only real limit on the effectiveness of gnoblars is the owner's tolerance for painting so many of them.
Went to the shop and bought some devlan mud

and here we have our gnoblars horde

those will take a long time.

As much an homage to your obvious insanity as to the frankly witchcraft like properties of devlan mud!

After reading and living the thread, and having several hundred painted gnoblars myself, I bow to you.  I was happy enough getting my first 100 done in a few days, but this is madness!!  SHEER MADNESS!!!!

And the only way I would've found this thread is your post in the Gnoblar Tower.  It is this kind of inspiration that members need to see every so often to continue their own trial-by-greenskin-fire that is a gnoblar horde army.

Again, congrats on the insanity that is your gnoblar horde.
My wife says I cheat at games; I don't cheat, I just don't learn all the rules!

Alright, you are officially insane. :)

I noticed a little swearing in some of your posts, and as a mod I have to take an official stance that such is not acceptable....but for the life in me I can't find it to edit them.  If I'd tried to do what you did I'd be swearing too! :)

avantar, you painted all those Gnoblars in a very short time.
wow  :gshock:
This must be a new record...and must be written in tha gyness book of Ogre record.

realy nice painting standard for that short time.
The only thing is, you have put all you gnoblars on 1 normal base size.
You could put 4 gnoblars on 1 Ogre base.
The only thing is, you have put all you gnoblars on 1 normal base size.

Really??  The guy painted 120 gnobs in 1 day and you complain that he didnt put 4 on a base!!  Just kidding...

I have to say though that this was a mental undertaking and you deserve all the mouldy gnob crotch that you get!
I was thinking about making 2 or 4 diorama's on the movement trays. But i cant get even half of the actual models that its supposed to represent on it.
And i did not put them al on bigger bases because i magnetized them, And can now transport them without getting them out of the movement trays.

I still cant come up with a colourscheme.

What you guys think of striped or blocked pants ?
And any idea what kind of skin colour fits with that ?

I did it on 1 guy and i believe it looked alright. Although the highlights where darker.
And if you mix it with water i believe its called a glaze.
As long as you fnish with devlan mud i believe you can be okay with flat colours to. You just dont get the highlights i got from using only washes

There is not much one can say about the gnob lover tribe exept of course for their strange fascination with the gnoblar race. It is well known that all ogres hold this race in higher regard then their food (at least most of the time). The gnob lover tribe however exeed the normal cooperation between gnoblars and ogres. Where most of the other tribes see gnoblars as slaves, pets and when in bad humour food. The gnob lover tribe see the gnoblars as friends and (one could say) employees. They will provide for gnoblars in return for services and entertainment. And have generally more gnoblars around then other tribes. This is not to say they are friendly or humble creatures, far from it. The regular gnob lover bull is just as much of a brute and savage as any other ogre and enjoys battle and slaughter just the same.

Great thread. Much amused in my little way how there was an inverse correlation of grammar and a direct correlation of swearing with the number of gnoblars completed and hours invested!

Mean looking big guy there, the hammer looks a bit heavy for the way he's holding it but no doubt he looks armed to the teeth.

Utterly brilliant and you have inspired and challenged me. I am going to try to paint 130 in 24 hours!

Not sure if it can be done but Im thinking that even if I fail, I should have about another 100 gnoblars done for my horde!

Thank you for the motivation.

Just getting them ready - mould lines, sprayed up etc and then we're off. we break from school on Friday 22nd and I have 1 week before I get married so planning to do this on Saturday 23rd.

At the moment, I have 130 ready to spray and another 20 to finish the mouls lines. The difficulty will be that most of the models are going in a specific unit in my gnoblar horde so need to be painted a particular way.

Check this space.
