My Tyrant on a green-stuff flying carpet. I still have to clean the carpet up a little bit more and add some free hand stuff to it, but I think this guy is ready to hit the skies!

Yeah, it is magical after all
I hope to do a little more with the gnoblars too, I need to add a Luck one, so maybe I will give him a little turbin or something.

I just played my first two games with the flying Tyrant.
Game 1 vs Orcs, he was a killing machine. He wiped a squad of Spider Riders, then a squad of Black Orcs then finally his Orc Boss on a boar!
Game 2 vs Warriors of Chaos he got stuck in against a Daemon Prince and was eventually cut down. Alas, I still won the battle by wipe out.
I set him up with a Cath Long Sword, Glittering Scales, the Carpet, Wyrdstone Amulet and Enchanted Shield, along with 2 Sword Gnoblars and a Luck Gnoblar.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but both the Scales and the Shield ar Magic Armour, so one or the other.

What should I run this guy with?
I should have known too, I had tried to run him with magic carpet and crown of command and caught that they were both enchanted items. Doh!

i always thought you could have a magical shield and a magical set of armor i thought the one per type was just for arcane and enchanted items have i been wrong for all this time??

Yeah, I think that the Balance of Power thing is a great idea because otherwise you could make a pretty unkillable Tyrant by loading up on big names/magic armor. Pretty interesting stuff. How should I load out that flying Tyrant anyhow?

the downside of the carpet is well, now the opponent knows he flies! i'd rather see the expression the first time you charge over the head of a unit...
anyway, bet he'll be a shooting/magic magnet. keep that wyrdstone necklace whatever you do! maybe even mawseeker for that extra toughness, but without the bsb in range there's a good chance you'll fail stupidity at some point. Oh well another reason to get in to combat!
