Ok so i intend making a real size orc head for on the wall (don't ask). May do an Ogre one at some point!

I need to sculpt it/mold it out of something both light and yet where I can get the details on it. I also want it to be fairly ok if dropped, not overly fragile.

What material would you suggest? Don't say papermache!

How are you with sculpting? I'd maybe look into a clay or wax if you think you could handle it. Maybe Styrofoam?

I'd make a wire mesh and use plaster bandage to sculpt the shape. Thick enough layers and you can add clay or other materials for details and coat it all in something like a think layer of silicone or resin if you want to go the extra mile.

Papier - máche? ( Bad spelling there sorry)  hopefully you will no what i mean, use someone elses head for the shape and you should have a really accurate size, then just slupt on with clay, or putty, etc :)

Use the one at Warhammer World for inspiration. I'd suggest using some form of mask over a Papier-Mache head for guidance. But awesome idea my friend!

Since I have no clue how to best get a good result in the end, I'll go the easy way and say buy this and fill it with plaster...  :>P
