Bragg the Manhungry's Hummie eaters

original thread ↗

with christmas rolling around soon my ogre army will be expanding, the bad thing is i have no idea what other people got for me so ill just have to wait and see. As of now my army stands at 5 bulls a giant who doesnt want to stay together 4 ironguts 3 leadbelchers and thats it besides the gnoblars which i dont intend to use in my army.

So far my gaming group has been playing warbands and my warband is run by Bragg the manhungry who is an irongut but will be getting the proper paymaster model soon. In our warband group we have high elves skaven Bretonians and dark elves, and so far i am undefeated with major success versus the skaven and bretonians. Ill get some pictures up of my warband and the rest of the models soon. :)
So my cameras that i have are ancient and dont take good pictures, so i had to use the camera on my phone so the pictures wont be of very high quality and wont look to great.
Im sorry untill i get a camera that is capable of taking god pictures i wont be able to post pictures up on here :x
So for christmas i hapened to get the main bulk f my ogres army two more starter sets two boxes of iron guts two boxes of leadbelchers three boxes of gnoblars and two boxes of bulls, its gonna take me a very long time to get this all painted but i will be posting pics soon of what i have done and what i got for christmas.
I can finally place photos up here as i have borrowed my friends good camera, albeit the photos still arent that great i would apreciate C&C

The first irongut that i painted and i experimented with a chunky gore on him

Irongut banner firts time doing a free hand design

The Bearer of the flag

And the Bellower
My work In Progress Bsb

My finished Slave giant

I custom made the pants to look like fur pants, this was my first time every using greenstuff
Heres some pics of my two man eaters

And some of my converted leadbelchers

As of now i dont have any colors to do the fire wich will be done when i get some money to buy a bunch more paints
Great start, can't wait to see more. You should really use the gnoblars, as due to steadfast they have become alot better.
i have one block of gnoblars that i use but thats it i try and pack in as any ogres as i can because no matter who i am playing i will be outnumbered. i play agaisnt Vampire counts, High elves, skaven and bretonia and possibly one more army but the ther player hasnt started yet. Numbers arent a gam i can win at so i need the hitting power and gnoblars just dont do that. But they are very fun to annoy people with.
The white stuff on the ogres is supposed to be snow? It doesn't really come across that way, and sometimes look like mold. I advise against doing that in the future.
I'm sure you know where you need to improve your skills (go to Cool Mini Or Not, and read all of the greenstuff tutorials, and then practice them with some spare greenstuff).
I will say there are parts where you show some talent (enough that I feel you could get pretty darn good)- the metal is, for the most part, pretty well done, and some parts of the skin (mostly on the giant) show case your talent.
For the blood and gore, don't use just red paint. There are many good blood tutorials floating around the net. For myself, I use two methods;
1) Blood Red with a brown or purple ink. It makes a darker, richer blood that looks a little old. This is simple to do, and very quick, but not as good as the second method.
2) GW 'ard coat (whatever that viscous white gunk in the normal paint pot is called) mixed up with red, brown, and purple inks. Use multiple coats, and add darker inks (maybe even black) for the areas where there'd be thicker, and older, blood. This is still easy, but takes longer. The benefit is it looks like blood rather than paint.

Thank you for the help Reg06
ive never been a good painter and im really tring on these guys, as i plyed 40 k for seven years and i only played imperial guard and this is a new coler and painting style for me but thank you for the help ill be posting more pics up soon

My newest Irongut, he is still being worked on but i would like C&C on him as i tried a new recipe for the skin.
Thank you,

They look pretty good, but I'd recommend doing a couple of things differently.

The snow on the models look like hair.  :o And actually it is it, as the snow flock of GW is shortened static grass which is painted white. I'd mix the snow flock with baking soda is 1:2 mixture... The baking soda looks good as snow, and the snow flock whitens it a bit more. If you mix baking soda and the snow flock in white glue, you have some nice snow which even shines a bit. It really looks good.  :)

The another thing are mold lines... I recommend scraping them away always before painting. The mold lines might not be seen clearly when models are assembles, but after painting... BANG!  ;)

Anyway, that looks like a very good start, I'll follow this blog.

Thanks for the recomendations ive ben looking for a good snow recipe as the flock just dindt look good enough, and thats exactly why i signed up at this site for help with my painting and everything else. Good thing i havnt really started on the rest of my six thousand points of ogres. I want them to look good because my gaming group consists of almost all painters and there stuff is just amazing, doesnt help ith the gaming though artists dont make the best generals.
So my posts have ground to a halt as ive been working on a custom bruiser, yeah me with green stuff is a long and arduos process im hoping that it comes out good as im really trying to improve everything as in my painting and modeling abilities
Hi,

Im gonna repeat the comment about mould lines - scrape them off! lol

Secondly, the last Ogre hasnt been undercoated - any reason why?? If you havent got any I would seriously invest in some!

Finally - if a model is properly prepared - thats half the battle won ;)

Natalie
i ran out of undercoat and im not getting paid for a long time and its put my painting on a verly large stall, its not fun cause i really want to finish up my ogres
as my ogres have drawn to a screeching halt i have dug up some of my imperial guard and have started to repaint and redo most of them ill have som pics up of those pretty soon but as i have nothing finished yet they will mostly be wip.
been a while since i posted anything on here been to busy at work frying chicken and all.(if i kep eating anymore ill have the gut of an ogre soon) as sson as i find where i put my camera i will be posting up some pics of the random stuff ive been painting up which includes some necrons a couple space marines and some ogres. ive got a lot of work ahead of me as i have finaly aquired all the unts for my 4000 point ogre list i would like to here some reccomendations for playing against vampires dark elves and bretonians if you feel inclined.
Playing and painting warhammer has den put on the backburner recently as I havbe acquired a. 303 Lee enfield and a 1963 Ford f-600 that both need a bit of fixing but I have worked a bit on my ogres and a new space marine army pics up soon

New 3000 point list for a campaign me and my friends are running, I've had some good games with them so far totaling 3 wins and a draw anything you guys think needs to be modified
The list looks solid :)

This may seem a little dated, but Reikland flesh. the new wash from gw will really give your models some depth and some fleshy warmth :)
The mold lines need to go as a few people have said, it is very easy to over look them, but the moment you hit the model with a dry brush or some highlights they stick out like a sore thumb :)
The painting on that last model with the shield on its shoulder, the shield is very well done :) all I would do to that model is a bit of devlan mud on the trousers + some reikland flesh on the skin, and a very light dry brush once its all dry :)

As for the list, it looks pretty solid as it is! :)
