Scraplauncher Tutorial [Step by Step with Pics]

original thread ↗

Hey guys, recently put a few scraplaunchers together and decided to upload the pics in a sort of step by step pic tutorial to help people out trying to put these bad boys together (seeing as I couldn't find a complete Scraplauncher tutorial). Explanations will be limited as the pictures should be self explanatory. The pictures are laid out in the order of construction. Thanks to Fantasyfreak's Scraplauncher thread which helped me out as I started my first Scraplauncher.

GW Scraplauncher Instructions: http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m510193a_Gnoblar_Scraplauncher_Construction_Diagram.pdf

All pieces are cleaned before starting, and I used super glue and green stuff for every bond.

Step 1:

Put together:

Step 2:

Step 3:

For this step I put the pieces together, and quickly attach them to steps 1 and 2 before it's completely dry - it's annoying, but it allows you to fit the pieces into place while they are still movable.

Put together:

Attached to the Rhinox:

Step 4:

This step is putting the platforms together

Platform 1:

Platform 3:

Step 5:

Putting the platforms on

Platform 1 added:

Platform 2 added:

Platform 3 added:

Step 6:

Adding the chains, you'll definitely need to adjust these before you attach them to make sure they fit correctly

Chains added on both sides:

Step 7:

Adding the catapult

Catapult added:

To do this I put super glue and green stuff right inside the frame on top of the Rhinox. Dry fit it first to make sure its bent out enough for you to fit the catapult T bar in

Step 8:

Add the Scraplauncher to the base:

Step 9:

Time to add the 9 Gnoblars!

First 2 Gnoblars:

Each one added:

and

Next 2 Gnoblars:

As you can see in this step this is one place where I don't like the original placement of the gnoblar with the telescope. You can see where to place him on the GW instructions, but I put him on the top left corner of my Rhinox frame.

Both added:

Two Gnoblars to be added to platform 3:

Added:

The next 3 Gnoblars I'm just giving pictures of where they are added. I think it's pretty obvious which Gnoblar is being added in the picture

Gnoblar hoisting scraps into the catapult added:

Gnoblar added pulling scraps up by a roap over the side of platform 2:

Gnoblar added throwing scraps into the catapult:

This pic is really hard to make out anything, but hopefully you can see what is added

**END**

Enjoy the finished product ;)

Welcome! Thanks a lot guys. Definitely hope this can help some people out  :D
Awesome tutorial.  I just opened my first Scraplauncher and was getting frustrated and this will help me out immensely.

Only thing... how to paint it?  Would it be better to paint the pieces individually first?  Problem here would be the added green stuff later.  I'm just thinking it will be a nightmare to paint the inside with everything put together.

I was worried about the same thing, but painting and cleaning up (even priming first) seemed to be too time consuming and I eventually decided to slightly different than this. I left off the skis and built the frame separate from the rhinox. I finished the rhinox, greenstuffed all the huge seams, pinned him in place on the base. I drilled a hole in his back to pin the scraplauncher frame to him where it rests on his back. I greenstuffed the skis on while setting the frame in place (but not attached to the rhinox yet). Now the skis are at the correct angles. I can pick up the scraplauncher itself and get all those hard to reach places from underneath if needed.

Final steps will be adding the gnoblars around the base, adding some snow, and pinning/greenstuffing one or both skis to the frame, along with pinning the frame to the rhinox's back. Then I will touch it up if need be. I would rather overkill than have it fall apart when I use it!
just finished step 3, glue fumes are killing me.  THis model is terribly designed, but this tutorial is amazing, thanks for the help.
This was SUPER helpful! Thank you! You helped me win my challenge!

Great tutorial! Unfortunatedly for me, I finished my scraplauncher 2 days before finding this thread  :|
As mentioned by other users too, it would be easier to paint it in parts, as I did.
The only problem is... 9 Gnoblar Scrappers?? My armybook says 6 gnoblars, and so did I recieve from the scraplauncher's package.

Anyhow, have fun with your new pet gnoblar (and the scraplaunchers too)  ;)
