Why no love for the overtyrant.

With 8th edition working more in the ogres favour now is Greasus now almost value with points. With a Tyrant and more popular BSB coming up to a basic 505 points does Greasus special line of sight rules and resolution bonuses make up for his 60 points extra. He can be gut buffed and with d6 +1 str 5 impact hits and thunderstomp he can pack a bit of a punch as well.  What are your thoughts see if I can be put off spending time converting one up.

IIRC 8th established an unFAQd rules "glitch": Greasus now is a monster and monsters can't join units. Especially counter-productive to his ItP-giving special ability. So... naaaah.

Well his strength 10 hits could hurt a Steam Tank.

He is very vulnerable if he can't join units however.

And being the BSB, if he has to flee, it's one big fat DEAD Greasus! I'll give him a try though, just to see him in action for once.

Ogres can't have fat in our lists. Greseus is fat.

yep, and now that he's a monster, he can't even use his special impact hits because he'll never be a unit of three or more ogres...

Yeah ... he is really worthless.

To expensive, too big, too easy to kill, and doesn't bring anything 2 cheaper models couldn't offer. The minor benefits he has over a Tyrant and Bruiser(BSB) are greatly offset by the drawbacks he has. It does explain why he works through other tribes and Tyrants when he can.

Hadn't even thought of losing the impact hits some good points why not to bother making a list for him. Still like the idea of an ogre ridding a mammoth for a count as in the near future.

     Not to turn this into a wish list thread what would you like greasus to bring to the table in a new Ogre Kingdom army book.

To make him playable, he'd need a few things, a few of which are:
A massive reduction in points.
the same number of attacks as a regular tyrant.
a save in close combat.
his ability to grant stupidity needs to work on targets that are immune to psychology.
all of his abilities that grant bonuses to ogres need to not be line of sight based.
he needs to be able to deal impact hits without a unit of ogres.

those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Actually, to make him playable and viable, all he really needs is the ability to join a unit. If he could join units i would take him more often then i do.
