The rust is solid. Because of how you do it though (solid color with secondary patches), areas where there is too much detail to show the patches (like the irongut's gutplate) you lose some of the effect (and by that, I mean it looks like you didn't finish it).

If by RAW, you mean "Reg06's Audacious Whims", then you'd be right.

@Reg06, again thank you for the tips. Can you go into more detail on what you mean when you referred to the ironguts gut plate.

Thanks again
Yeah. Looking at the gutplate in question, it looks like a single solid layer of orangey rust color- no drybrushing, or high lighting, or any detailing. It looks like the first layer of a rust recipe. I think it is because your method uses such large streaks and patches of the brighter orange (e.g. the outside of the bull's sword has very noticeable and definable bright orange streaks) that on bitz without large flat areas it all blends together.
Make sense?

Thanks so much man, Next pics I post should have some gore on a few of the weapons
Picked these three up super cheap. Forgeworld too rich for my blood

Ok took like a week off from painting after getting the rust effect how I wont them. S here is my proposed color scheme. I chose a random model to see how I like he colors together. Sucks I picked one without his metal shoe cover thingy's painted. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THIS WAS A QUICK PAINT JUST TO SEE HOW THE COLORS LOOKED TOGETHER
I know I missed some spots and No washes, highlighting etc has been done.
Opinions, thoughts

Ok painted the pants, boots and the belt. Really enjoyed painting the stitching on the paints really brings out the pants. I have not shaded or washed or added dirty and bloody effects yet. And still need clean up work on skin also.
