The Trollguts

original thread ↗

Tribe:
    Trollguts
Tyrant:
  The Mighty Hastrim Troll-Eater
Tribe Info:
The Trollguts. Once one of the most dominant of the Ogre tribes, were expelled from their homelands in the Mountains Of Mourn because they fought against Greasus Goldtooth and his growing goldtooth tribe that is now the most powerful Ogre tribe in existance.

The Trollguts migrated to the south into the Worlds Edge Mountains where they now fight against the various Orc & Goblin tribes inhabiting the Worlds Edge Mountains. Though luckily the dwarfs accept The Trollgut tribe inhabiting a part of the Worlds Edge Mountains. The Trollguts got their name after they fought off a massive group of stone trolls who ambushed the Ogre tribe. After a long fight the Ogres claimed victory. Disemboweling every single one of the Trolls and eating their innards. In belief that this makes them stronger and more resistant to damage.

So this is what i came up with for fluff to my Ogre tribe so far. Like it?

Very nice, very succint

I would warn you, though, that it's a somewhat unpopular move to have your custom tribes/chapters/whatever in the 40k and Fantasy universe fight against the Big Boss of their faction.

popular examples include having Space Marine chapters beat up Horus or something, or fly into the eye of Terror and punch Khorne in the nadgers

What I would do, then, with the whole "We Fought Greasus" thing would be one of two directions:

1. Have them, in the past, wage a huge civil war against Greasus and his allies. Your tribe lost, and now they live in the World Edge Mountains. Have this reflected in their fluff and models (battered, bruised veterans with armour and no-nonsense attitudes. Like Black Orcs for Ogres)

2. Have them, in the past, get into trouble with Greasus and run away. Years of Ogre boasting and fact lost in fiction has left your tribe thinking they had a huge war with Greasus, bu in actual fact, they ran away. From this. though, they have a lust for revenge, and have now become a threat to Greasus because they believed they USED to be a threat
Well, the guys fought greassus, but that does not mean they won or were even very succesful at all. I think it's normal that on the rise to power of such a powerfull leader he would find oposition.

My army has also had poor dealings with the goldtooth kingdom, so I guess both the Trollguts tribe and the Frost-biter tribe share the pain inflicted by those wealthy brutes.  ;>)
