They've fixed the Gut Magic paragraphs thing (start counting from Casting Gut Magic section), and the old BSB with Magic Weapon issue (in fact, they can use any of the weapons available to Bruisers now)!
The Bellower Issue 4 out now!

All as expected with the BSB, with added bonus of normal toys, had to wait for it for years, but now I can finally say yay to the naysayers!
Casting GM was what I expected, quite obvious if you added a little sense.
Thanks to Hragged for posting.
And many thanks to GW I'm impressesed with the customer support, overly impressed infact

This is unprecedented, I've never been one of those who complain that "GW is teh evil profit mongerers," but this is an extremly rapid turn around for GW in supporting their customer base. Good show!

There's something I am confused about.
On a number of forums I have noticed people griping about the 8th edition Ogre lists being run in WD and elsewhere having units of 8 Leadbelchers - the gripe is that this is illegal.
Yet according to the FAQ... "Ignore all references to unit strength."
??????
thenick1815 Jul 2010
Unit strength is not the same thing as models in a unit. The limitation is 1-5 for belchers I believe.

I think they've been listening in on us, or else I doubt they would have managed to nail the issues we had right on the head, particularly the BSB/Tendersier thing. At last, the conflict has been resolved!
I think the whole 8 Leadbelchers thing is just a hiccup on Phil's part. Either that, or he's already using rules that aren't out yet..... I wish.
I don't suffer from mental instability. In fact, I enjoy it immensely.

Chuck Norris was the fourth wise man and gave Jesus his favorite gift, a beard. The other wise men were so hacked off, they got Chuck Norris removed from the bible. Mysteriously, they all later died of Roundhouse kick related injuries.

Ah, just noticed that Hragged emailed him about these very issues. Perhaps if we get him to email him again we'll get some of the changes we want in the new book?

finally a clear BSB ruling. magic banner + mundane items, or normal banner and anything as normal (:

At least we can put that argument to bed ... now for the other one - is a Gorger a monster or monstrous infantry!?

Hey, um... I just noticed something.
Referring to the BSB, the FAQ says "Ignore the second and third sentences in the first paragraph"
The second sentence is: "This Bruiser cannot be the army general, even if he has the hightest leadership in the army."
Did they just allow us to have a Buiser BSB that's also the general?

possibly to make up for smaller games? where other armies can easily afford a geneneral and a BSB, we can only afford the general?

That's covered in the 8th edition rulebook on p107:
unless specified otherwise, the model that carries the battle standard cannot be the General

The BSB ruling is great, but I cannot find any references of Unit Strength only Unit Size.
Just because you can't play a phase of the game well does not mean you shouldn't play that phase at all.

But would this count as the 'unless specified otherwise'
Cheers,

I'll grind yer bones to make meh bread!!
Hragged16 Jul 2010
But would this count as the 'unless specified otherwise'
No, because it doesn't 'specify otherwise' in our army book - it would have to actually say somewhere that an Ogre BSB can be the Ogre army General to overrule the normal BSB rules in the 8th edition rulebook
The BSB ruling is great, but I cannot find any references of Unit Strength only Unit Size.
There are a few Unit Strengths dotted around here and there, in the Scraplauncher unit entry and Special Characters rules for example.

Ok, so is that it or do you think the FAQ was referring to Size instead of Strength?
Just because you can't play a phase of the game well does not mean you shouldn't play that phase at all.
Hragged16 Jul 2010
Unit Strength has been scrapped this edition, so they're just removing references to it from the army books. Unit sizes are still relevant
