nonchalance's Mecha-Ogres

original thread ↗

Steampunk-themed ogres!
The idea is lots of trade with the Skryre and Chaos Dwarves, machine-obsessed mercenaries of doom.

Don't know how competitive they'll be, but after running 'nails Lizardmen lists for a year or so with basic-colour-scheme-little-conversion models, these guys should be a lot of fun.

The BSB Bruiser is first off the blocks, and I'll post his mostly-painted pics shortly, but first built is the stompy stompy Scraplauncher, just waiting for some paint and some crew.
WIP:

I'm testing the 2250 version of this list in Stronghold's WFO forum now; the 2500 will have the scrappie and an additional Gorger, assuming that's allowed under 8th ed rules.

Hmmm this could be interesting, I would offer some suggestions for the leadbelchers, some of them could have weapons that throw arcs of electricity or jets of steam etc.
Magic weapons could look as if the magic is just steam tech and the base weapons could range from large spanners to huge cogs bolted to lengths of steampipe.
Actions speak louder than words, unless your eating a mime of course.
Well, that's fairly similar to some of the ideas I had - for example, here's the BSB with Siegebreaker.

and his backpack-mounted-drill-driving-engine.

wow very cool BSB.  :P

Maybe make your gorgers look like some kinda 'cyborg went wrong'  (they can be the discarded experiments)
There is only news.  There is no good or bad.
Haha! That's brilliant.
I was going to use Rat Ogres, but I'm thinking the broken mass of flesh with machine bits actually sounds much cooler.

This here screams for that kind of use.  I am all for Inquisitor models being used in situations like this.  My favourite was Severina and Sevora as Slaanesh Daemon Princesses...  LMK what you think as the cyborg gone wrong look is there with a hint of Gorger as well...

Metaphorgotten: A metaphor is a train, a high speed train that takes you from concept A to B, easily derails and serves overpriced sandwiches.
Oh, my GOD.

I want that. It is my perfect Gorger.
Is it a 54mm scale human? Meaning a pretty close to 28mm-Ogre sized model?

Building a Bull Musician - he doesn't go in for bellowing as much as for firing rounds out his machine gun. They don't hit anything, but by the MAW, they make a lot of noise.

Yes it is 54mm.  Glad to help!

So I haven't posted here for a while, largely due to lack of time and/or internet access, but y'know, I did some stuff.

First up, my first Maneater:

Second, my WIP Tyrant:

with a belcher for scale:

Oh, and I worked out my camera a bit, and took some better shots of the BSB:

I just don't like the musician, I think you should take a page from the Imperial Guard codex and incorporate a speaker into the mouth. As for the model you already have, perhaps rework him to be a Butcher with a bangstick or something.

The tyrant is huge :D, theonly critisim i have is that he is a lil  thin for me

Alex

p.s i hope my spelling is okay =/
Im ginger so SHHHHHHHHH
These are awesome! Keep it up!
i think the models invo9lving machinery are really great, well covnerted and fit your theme. but a machine gun on teh bellower seems very 40k and not in keeping with a steampunk astetic.

maybe instead of a gun, have an automated drum banger? or a wind up music machine?
steampunk weaponry would run on steampower remember so, get alot of furnaces and bellowers on those gunners =p
Appreciate the comments, guys.
I'll have a think about the musician.

Also, that guy I labelled a Maneater, I'm thinking he's actually a Butcher, and here's the other one.

Busy getting packed to go back to Australia, so haven't done much recently, but I did make a trapper.

He's based on the Bioshock Little Sister, just to go with the BSB.

hmmm ok, you need to make the syringe look more like a syringe and just put the gnoblar in a girls dress, trust me it'll be funnier.
