glueing resin

original thread ↗

Hey guys,

I had a question:
I ordered three rhinox riders from forgeworld and when they get here, I'l have to glue them (that is: after the ash from Iceland is not in the air anymore and they can be flown over.)

For normal models from GW I use their plastic glue and Pattex superglue.

So Could I use one of them or should I have special glue?

Now all we need is the 7th edition rule that said if the models are killed they don't get to fight and we WOULD be a broken army! lol

I have a Forgeworld Rhinox. I pinned it and used SuperGlue, filled in the joints with Greenstuff for a seamless finish. So far so good.

See as its not plastic the plastic glue won't "weld" so I can't image it would create a solid bond.

I've got a lovely bunch of gnoblars *dodo do do* Here they are all sitting in a row!

Superglue is the stuff to go on resin. But make sure to thoroughly wash the resin parts with soap to remove the grease used in the casting. Ohterwise neither glue nur paint will adhere very well. It is also a good idea to roughen the areas you want to glue with a fine sandpaper, as this wil strengthen the bond. And, as Twon said, pin the horns and the tail, otherwise they will keep breaking off during games.
Cheers,
