GD Atlanta tourney army.

original thread ↗

I'm finnaly painting up and flocking all I've got so far of my ogre army, and I am pretty sure I'm gonna get to go to this years GD in Atlanta (Anyone else going?) and I'm trying to plan out what I need to buy before I go to have a viable tournament army.

Right now I have a good 1750 points, but I need advice for the last 500 (tourneys are 2250 points, right?).  I'm going for a psuedo MSU build, but with a big unit of Ironguts for a hammer unit.

This is what I've got so far.

Tyrant - 300
Tinderiser
Wyrdstone Necklace
Jade Lion (Woulnd't want my big unit of ogres running away, would we?)

Butcher - 180
Bangstick
Dispell Scroll

Butcher - 180
Seigebreaker
Skull Mantle

4 units of 3 naked bulls each - 420 points all together.

5 Ironguts - 275
Musician, Standard, Lookout Gnoblar (Maybe add a magic banner here?)

2 Units of 24 gnoblars with groinbiters - 100 points overall

9 Trappers with a Snarefinger - 58

Scraplauncha - 165

Gorger - 75

And that's it.  I'm thinking of maybe a larger unit of bulls to stick one butcher in, maybe another gorger, or even a unit of maneaters.  What do you guys think?
Maneaters can be awsome, often meaning the diferance between winning and losing, although I am very fond of the Gorgers as well but they are not as reliable.

Maybe another unit of Gnoblers would be good too.
You can see my OK Gnoblog "Chasers of the Fang" Here
 Armybuilder wont let me add different weapons to the maneaters.  Off to excel I go!

{Edit}  :x I dont have excel, only Microsoft Spreadsheet.  Stupid. :x

{Edit #2} Ok, it turns out Army builder can put different weapons on a maneater unit.

Ok, I've now added a 3 Strong unit of maneaters, two with greatweapons and one with a Cathayan Longsword, all in heavy armor - 270 points

A hunter with two sabertusks and a Greyback Pelt - 220

Minus one gnoblar trapper brinnging it to a nice 2248 points.  Maybe I should throw a random gnoblar into a Figher unit.
Maneaters probably aren't worth their points. They are really expensive for what they do.

Consider a flanking force of 3 yhetees. They aren't as back as everyone says if you can use them well.

More gnoblars.

2 Units of 2 Leadbelchers with Bellower.

Instead of the Siegebreaker on your second butcher, give him the halfling cook book.

More gnoblars.

Otherwise, I would say it looks like a very strong list.
Maneaters are well worth their points. They cost 32 more points then a Irongut but they have 1 better WS 2 better BS 1 better T 1 better I 1 more A and lets not forget that there Immune to Psychology and Stubborn. Ok we have to add in 10 more points for Weapons and Armour. Their are a great unit on the flanks or if their well protected to get in and break the center line as well as holding up other nast units that they can go toe to toe with. The only thing I wish is that they could use the Cathayan longsword and an Ironfist together.
I would also say have one Butcher be a scroll caddie with one more dispel scroll. You will be facing some cheezy magic armies.
