first wfb game ogres vs beastmen

original thread ↗

im not entirly sure what units they had , just what they looked like /had so thisn might be abit vague =p

beastmen:

bray shaman:
magical item that allowed him to gain extra attacks and strenght, rolled a movment spell and a summon giant spell.

unit of 6 centigors
3 minataurs

20 normal handweapon sheild type troops, gors?
10 greatweapon light armour troops

and a giant

i had:

bruiser with greatweapon, firstful of laurels , mr2 , luck gnoblar, heavy armour

2x3 bulls light armour, bellowers
5 ironguts, banner, bellower  ( bull standard)
2x 20 gnoblars
1 slave giant

both worked out at around 1000 points

first turn beastmen:

moved everything forward 12, remaning just out of range of any of my bulls charges, his bray shaman got +1 attack and strenght, he cast a movment spell, but decided he dint want to use it afterall, and ended.

first turn ogres:

i moved forward 6 with everything, and hid some gnoblars in a woods near my deployment
nothing left to do.

second turn beastmen:

he charged everything forward except his centigors , they rolled +1 attack for their drunkeness.
20 gors with the bray shaman moved into my irongut block
10 greatwepon things hit my gnoblars
the minaturs charged my giant
and his giant ran down near my gnoblars. charging 3 bulls, killing 1 with his club, i did 1 wound back, and the bulls held there
my giant got pasted, fled and got run down leaving the minaturs over at the edge of the board
the 20 gors and my ironguts faught, and i lost rhough outnumbering, but i held with the use of my laurels.
the gnoblars killed a greatwepapon beastman with the stand and shoot , and they killed 4 gnoblars, the combat held though.

ogre turn 2:
i challanged the bray shaman , killed him him doing 1 wound back to me. i won combat with the 20 gors and ran them down but it left me 10 inches away from any combat.
his giant killed the remainer of the bulls and moved near my gnoblars in the woods. who fled through terror off the board, leaving teh giant alone in a table corner.
the gnoblars failed to do any wounds to the greatweapon beastmen and fled off the board.

beastmen turn 3:

his remaining greatweapon beastmen and centigors tried to charge my remaining bulls, who fled as a reaction into some woods, leaving the two beastmen units open for a countercharge.
minaturs moved upnear the woods and the giant moved over aswell.

ogre turn 3:

my ironguts charged into the flank of the centirgors killing them and moving into the giant.
the 3 bulls killed all the greatweapon beastmen with bull charges and hits.

beastman turn 4:

the giant got joined in his combat by the minitaurs, the giant landed his club right on my bruiser, killing him, and the bull charges off the minaturs took out all the rest of the unit bar 2. in return my ogres got the giant to 1 wound, ironguts fled, giant ran them down. leaving him over the other end of the board.

ogres turn 4:

my 3 bulls rallied and charged the back of the minataurs , killing 2 and loosing no wounds back, chased them down and killed them.

we called it all a tie in the end ^^
he rolled initially for the spell that summons a giant, but with only 1 caster he said he'd never get it off so used some other movment spell.
i wish id taken the tenderiser, or even had a bigger game and taken a thunder mace, just to lessen all that static cr x.x
i didnt like all the hatred flying around, but enjoyed that the greatweapon unit never once managed to get hatred the whole game, them beastmen love gnoblars <:

hope it was easy to read , its as close to i remember it from a few hours ago (:

Sounds like a good battle and you wrote a nice report.  Good to see the Ogres winning it by Turn 4.
Your mom goes to college
You would have faired much better had you backed up a few inches instead of moving forward 6. That way you would have probably gotten the charge off.

Overall though, it was a good battle report.
