Would you like to play a game of Warhammer at the Stronghold but just don't know how? Read this thread and I'll explain how to upload your units and get them on the net!
1. Deployment
So you have a list of your chosen army and have the templates:

Now you must open a paint document. Copy and Paste this template picture into the document.
Open another document and leave it blank for a moment. Back on your other document use the "Select" tool to select the unit type you want. When you have the right number of the correct models, Copy and Paste this section into the blank document. Do this multiple times until your army is on the blank document (select single or other numbers of the right base size for units of different numbers). Once you have a document with your army on it, feel free to fill in the units with colours of your choice. Once you have finished, save the final coloured document onto your computer as a Bitmap or PNG.
Now you have a document with your army templates on it you may want to get this onto the net to show your opponent. I would suggest www.tinypic.com, though an alternative would be www.photobucket.com to upload your images. Some others may use other techniques.
Firstly you must create an account and as you have an account on this website I'm assuming you know how to do that
. Once you have one that it clearly tells you how to upload. Browse through your saved files to find the army document and then upload it into your album. Once it is uploaded it is simple. You will see the image appear with some options beneath. If you click on the IMG code one then it will automatically set this as copied. Then all you have to do is paste it into your battle thread and you have uploaded a picture.
Anyway, most of you will know how to do that and will really want to know what you do in Paint. When deploying units, you will need two Paint documents open at the same time. One will be blank and the other will be the "Army" document you created earlier. In the blank one, Copy and Paste the map for the battle. Next, transfer the units (using "Select" and Copy/Cut and Paste) onto the battlefield. Move the unit around to where you want it to go and when you're happy, click off it. If you have some tidying up to do then this is simple. Use the "Pick Colour" tool so you have the correct colour and just fill in the area that needs tidying. If you need to click zoom into "Large Size" and use the Paint Brush for more precise tidying. Once you have finished, save the document onto your computer (as a Bitmap or PNG) and to save space, you may as well overright it every time.
*An alternative to using paint is to download and use Battle Chronicler, which is currently free to download and found here:
http://www.battlechronicler.com/
You can use
http://uploading.com
to upload the documents made with Battle Chronicler.
One player must create the map and uploads it. The other player downlaods it, opens battle chronicler and then opens the map file through the program. Then one goes to "Edit>Game Details" and puts their army into the program. Units are organized by files instead of ranks, and you'll need to include base size, then the program pretty much draws the units for you.
To deploy go to the game menu and then go to deployment. To change sides, you'll need to go to the edit menu, then to game details, then switch sides. When you deploy you can rotate the unit manually, but the arrow keys (as well as the wheel and turn arrows) make for smoother placement. Once you save, upload it.
To make a picture go to the file menu-export an image- export complete image. The snapshot is ok too, but a bit small. The picture is then saved in documents-battle chronicler-export and ready to be uploaded to tiny pic, or the like.
2. Movement
Movement is very simple. Use the "Select" tool again and select the unit in question. Move them fowards, backwards or anywhere you want (I will explain rotation next). Once you have finished you will need to do the tidying up that was explained last paragraph. If you want to, you may draw a line to show you're opponent where you have moved, but this is not cumpolsury.
Rotation will require a Photoshop of some variety. If you do as much as you can before and then Copy and Paste the Paint image of your Movement phase into a blank Photoshop document. All of these programmes have a Select and Rotate tool and therefore that should make it easier to understand. Once you have finished, select the image and Copy and Paste the document back into Paint, doing any lining up you need to do. From here, upload it as a normal Paint document.
Many people simply use paint, and manually add the angles. A (better) alternative to photoshop is GIMP. It is a free image manipulation program similar to photoshop, just google for it. It does not take up too much space. I personally use it, though it takes some time to get used to the program, and is a bit time consuming at the beginning. You need to select a unit, rotate it, unselect it and paint in over the area erased through the rotation. This distorts the image slightly, so it is helpful to have a picture of the unrotated unit somewhere on your harddrive.
3. Dice Rolling
This could be argued to come first but as long as you have read it then you should survive
.
There are two different dice rollers:
http://hamete.org/dserver/dice
http://www.wizards.com/dnd/dice/dice.htm
Hamete has many advantages, including a dice log & what I believe is a good user interface.
Whichever server you decide to use, copy and paste the result in the thread:
However you roll, if you are rolling for wounds it is always useful for your opponent if you put the amount of wounds (and armour save reduction) in bold type. For example:
3 Wounds at -1 on your Ironguts
Now I guess I have explained enough. Ask questions in this thread if you are still unsure of something.
On the battlefield, add as much or as little terrain as you want by playing around with the tools. Have a look at somemother threads for inspiration and examples.
Thanks

You requested that 1 roll of 4 6-sided dice be rolled.
Roll them bones ... your dice are
Roll 1: 4, 5, 6, 1 = 16.
However you roll, if you are rolling for wounds it is always useful for your opponent if you put the amount of wounds (and armour save reduction) in bold type. For example:
