A new 'blog, a new beginning...

original thread ↗

For reasons best known to me, I sadly am leaving my last gnoblog to slowly fade away into the ether of inactivity...

But, enough of that melancholy rubbish, down to business...

Here's a bit of fluff for my Apocalypse 40K army, The Corinthian Liberation Crusade. It is really rather crap, but it is only a quick scrawl, serving as nothing more than somewhere to store all my random thoughts...

The Corinthian Liberation Crusade;

Not long after the 13th Black Crusade had brought the galaxy to its knees, full scale reclamation was undertaken by the Imperium. With the foul worshippers of Chaos, many systems turned away from the Emperor’s divine light, and uprisings were to become ever more frequent, as loyalist forces were to become more and more thinly spread.

One particularly horrific case was to be found many systems from the galaxy’s core. A lot of systems on the Outer Rim had devolved into utter anarchy, and response forces were therefore already hard pressed, when the first ships were detected entering the sector.

At first, it was just a small cluster of vessels, leading many of the scant defenders to believe them to be little more than drifting debris and abandoned space hulks... Once the reality had hit them, it was too late. In the beginning, a few hooded strangers, swathed in rotting cloaks, were seen in the hive slums. Then a few water supplies were found to be poisoned, after scores of deaths were caused. Soon, disease and sickness was spreading through the hives in a frenzy; like a fire through dried grass. Sadly, this was nothing compared to what lie ahead...

The battle for land fall was short and brutal, with the remnants of the Planetary Defence Force proving largely insignificant against such insurmountable numbers, and mindless savagery. In less than three hours, they were wiped out to a man, having served as little more than a speed bump...

The Fly Lords were a chaos cult – who had emerged during Abaddon’s most recent assault on the Imperium – entirely dedicated to Father Nurgle. Insanely fanatical in the spread of plague and pestilence, it was with this purpose they had come to Corinthia. Plague Lector Bilius Festergüt soon instated himself as Governor of not only Primus Corinthia, but the whole sector; asking the inhabitants to show subservience to him, and his pestilential followers, or succumb to a slow, and irrefutably gruesome death. As can only be expected, many quickly gave in, throwing in their lot with the ruinous powers.

Only a few months after the invasion, many of the hives had been reinforced, and many revisions and fortifications made, all the while under the watchful eye of Bilius and his lieutenants. Hellspire Hive was used by the forces of chaos as some semblance of high command, eventually becoming a Palace of Plague.

Two years passed, and the citizens remaining – who hadn’t entirely given themselves over to the worship of Grandfather Nurgle – had all but given up hope of any form of salvation, when the alarm was sounded of a presence detected in planetary orbit...

The largest space fleet to have ever been sighted in the most eastern reaches of the galaxy, gathered off planet; a military might barely matched by that of the Cadian Defence Forces.

The people of the Corinthian system recognised them as their saviours; there to liberate them from the oppression wrought by the Fly Lords. Little did they know, their lives were far from paramount reason for the presence of such military might...

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.

And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.
Nice fluff, but I thought the Fly Lords were the Apocalypse army you were gonna do.

You're going to do an IG army, right?

EDIT: Made it easier to understand. :P

"Needs Moar Manowar"
I'm not sure I really get it... But, nonetheless, yes it is an IG army. Well, of sorts... It has elements from the Inquisition, Marines, Eldar, Kroot and Squats :)

The Fly Lords are my Nurgle Marine/Rengades army :D

Sounds like fun. Haven't gone near 40k in quite some time so I have no idea what this nonsense is. :P

Tis fun indeed. Needed a breather from fantasy if I am honest. So, I decided to revert back to my first love; 40k :)

I have played 40k for 5 years and i regret saying it, but it is rubbish. No tactics at all, just knowing what weapons to use on what units. There are no advantages for flank or rear charges and my orks are amazingly OP. Whats that i hear you say, 180 pointsof boys =90 str4 attacks on the charge, oh ok.  Oh thats ghazgull isn't it, protected by 10 meganobs = 30 str 8 atts and 7 str 10 attacks all ignoring armour, oh. You could effectively have 990 str 4 attacks on the charge all lead by Ghazgull in 2000pts.
I have a spacious box now Shame the leadbelchers use me for target practice.... But they'll never him me they're so bad, they've already blown themselves up!
Yes, Orks are very OP. A Biker Nob army is brutal. But, not unbeatable. I have lost to them twice, won 4 times.

40k has a richer background I think, but tactically very bland. Ironic really...

So very true.. I really hate biker mobs and have churned my way through tonnes of em! I just through everything in a trunk and go as fast as i can, then leap from it and hope not everyone is dead. Ah, skidmarks... Then Ghazgull cleaves his way through everyone while singing 'Can't touch this'

Once, and only once against a space marine army that had been tailored to deal with termis, couple of lascannon landraiders and a demolisher, with two devastator squads and 10 termis with storms shields (3+ inv) ghazgull well and truly got turned into ash, although i won. You can't touch my nob with power claw in my boys  ;)

Snikrot's model looks awesome, but his rules aren't like his fluff. The same with wazdakka. I really hate kommandos as infiltrating is not orkish :x. You just run behind the enemy destroy one enemy unit and then get shot to pieces  :o! I hope it plays well though!

thats all you need from them, i use them as a distraction (any fire coming their way, is less fire on my footsloggers) and to take out some nasty long range bits, or other vital elements of an army. If i can either kill or tie up a unit, and get fire directed to them, that means they'v served their purpose. All the while my boomguns will be softening them up :)

And burna's have the nice addition of being power weapons in close combat, so yea, i love m ^^

Here's my Snikrot on a base i made in 5 mins for funzies XD (detachable)

Awesome Base and painting, but what is funzies? :?

for fun, i did that for the hell of it :P
Where did you get the skull on that base from? :)
