Scroth's Sculpting blog

original thread ↗

Just the model, (not including the rock) about the height of an ogre.

Should be working on claws and/or head in the next couple of hours :) Maybe pics later

I'm also starting to think about what to do next. I was thinking either a cold one rider or something from the chaos or deamons range. Anyone else got any suggestions?

Detail is a little hard to see but here we go :D I have done all paws and the tree branch :)

looks worse then it is

The dewclaws, they are there - somewhere

Probably the best angle, surprisingly

Comment's welcome, what do people want to see next chaos (spec) or cold one rider?

Congrats on joining the hunter clan :)

Erm, I'd quite like to see smething chaos-y, as it seems inherent within my nature, to crave all things chaotic... Maybe have a go at creating an Exalted Hero, or something...? Maybe mount your tyrant's head on a banner pole, signifying the day they crossed my WoC :P

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.

And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.
And Finished! I'm fairly happy with this guy for a first sculpt. It has taught me a lot

The second layer of the face

Finished pics

I should be able to get some paint on him today or tomorrow :)

Comments appreciated (no matter how bad you think he is ;))

agreed.
So cute!  (Oops, I mean menacing...) I like him!  I'm not quite sure what his weapon is doing, but all will be revealed with the paint I'm sure!  Great sculpting effort, gs is not as easy as it looks!

Thanks for the comments,

My yhetee is now painted but unfortunately he's an entrant in the Longstrider comp so your all going to have to wait til then :(

I haven't heard back from herasy miniatures either so am more or less out of materials too :( And can't find any other sourses so that could slow things up quite a bit :(

Evaluation of the Yhetee

Pose- Really happy, the model on a whole is visually balanced and the planes work well. The Model phisically isn't balanced so well but it stands up at least 8)
Fur- The fur I like a lot it and actually like how it hides his shape a bit, just like a animal in the freezing cold
Face- My ability let me dow a bit here but the flattened look was intentional, in the cold extrematies are a hazard and I figure with evalution these would smooth out and shrink. The goatee is hilarious
Claws/hands- Again my ability wasn't really up to it but I have hidden/made do as best I can
Weapon-The branch was easier then expected and looks good, the head could have had more detail and energetic shape
Rock- Really happy wait til you see it painted
Painting in general- Not so great but the rock stands out for me

Hmm, lots of sad icons somthing to brighten this post up. My next choice for a sculp and its plaguebearers! I haven't been able to find any pics except for the GWs ones so here they are

I really like these models and can't really see anything wrong with them if I had to be picky

-The weapons look a little awkward
-More gore! Can never have to much gore
-Animals within animals, I want to do stuff crawling out of them or them interacting with there gribblyness more

If anyone knows were some converted or sculpted nurgly stuff could be found, please point me n the right direction

Cheers

I wasn't sure at first, but HE IS AWESOME! Really good. Follow the link people, I've only put up a low quality shot

What I like about him
-Gribblyness
-The skin, spec the sores and stuff. This is probably the selling point for me
-paint job
-Everything, he's just generally better then the GW

With that in mind, I think I am basically going to try and do a small version of him

Scroth

P.S thanks Blugh :D

Gorgeous!  :>D Perhaps a little more highlighting on his face is the only thing I could suggest. The rock turned out really well, very nice paint job! I love the snow on him, too, how did you do that?  Really good work!
