gutrencha's pitfighters

original thread ↗

I'm starting off a new ogre army and have brought the batillion. Im going to be converting this up and painting it ill keep thread updated with my progress  :D
My drafted army list so far:
Gutrencha- Tyrant- Thundermace- Spangleshard- heavy armour- sword knoblar
Butcher pony gobbla- Hafling cookbook
Butcher- bangstick
Butcher- Dispell scrool

4x Ogre bulls- ironfists- light armour- bellower
4x Ogre bulls- ironfists- light armour- bellower
10x Gnoblar trappers
4x maneaters- cathyan longswords- heavy armour
1xGorger
4x Ironguts
4x Ironguts
-----2k------

Fluff- Haven't really worked on this that much but ill whip summin up  :D
Gutrencha the tyrant of the rockfists clan hold mounthly pitfighting bouts with there neigbouring clans. 13 consecuative wins he decided it was time to act to expand his kingdom some of his best fighters had been mortally wounded by a jumpy little upstart of a bruiser from the neighbouring clan. It was time to act. Gutrencha assembled his best most elite pit fighters to fight in an open battle. His butchers prayed to the greatmaw on the eve off battle one beame possesd slaghtering all who were near in the morning Gutrencha's fierce cadre of bruisers lay dead horribly mutated by this rouge butcher. He begain to preach ,doubling over  in bouts of gurgling screams as the maw seeked to posess him. Gutrencha decided he would try to harness this power and the butcher would lead them nto war. Favoured by there god, on midwinters eve they begain there long march over the mountains of mourn. On arrival they found the enemy tribe in the middle of there grand feast upon the throne sat the runty bruiser now apprently the ruling tyrant. With a savage war cry adorned by the possesing from the maw the ironcuts howled into action. Brandishing there mighty wepons adapted from there pit fighting styles they slaughtered all. The tyrant and his bodyguard stood there ground in the centre and slew manny a bulls but ~Gutrencha and his elite maneater charged in used to close fighting they quickly slew the bodygaurd before gutrecha ripped off the younger tyrants gut plate slicing off his stoumoauch so his entrails spilt steaming onto the floor. Humilliating this weak runt infront of his clan. So the conquest begain.

I have started my conversions for my man eaters and my butchers piccies up tomorrow  :)
Nice fluff :) Very colourful :) I like it. List looks good, but may I ask, why that build on the tyrant? :)

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.

And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.
Tyrant = fun  :D (hes not built to kill hes built for a laugh and to play test the funky rules of his equipment)
Here are the links to the pics im not very good at converting so some constructive critism would be apreaciated =]. thanks in advance.
hope this works  :|

manny thanx fantasyfreak
Looks great, are the metal rods going to be horns of the Tyrant's headdress or something?  :)

I love the painting and there's some real good stuff here with your ideas and convertions too!

i'm a little puzzled as to the Butcher's (?) head here though...is it a mask? and why the horns/poles? :S

Its a mask there sevreal points behing it one of them vyan hit the nail on the head  :D the second one is he's like a beserker when he was possesd by the maw at the begining of evrey battle the blood of his enemy's are poured into the mask so he becomes a crazed killer. :P
The spikes were to try and make like a grill infront of his face wich is peeping through the mouth, i left them on without trimming them down because it added to the effect of the mask. For that gruesombly scary look  ;)
Thanks for the feedback guys next up is the other butcher and then the maneaters
Nearly finished this maneater (posting because im stopping for tonight)
Some feedback would be really apreaciated thanx  :D

Sweet, but the shoulder plates look a little too Orcish...

Erm, those metallics are some of the best I think I've ever seen :) Wow! The rest is fairly good, but nothing compares to the job you've done on the metals :)

I no i wanted to paint the lips but i didn't want them to bright and to stand out wich i obviously failed at  ;) So any sugestions of a good coulor to paint them or just leave them skin tone?

Pony gobbler's up for painting next; so stay tuned  :D
here he is -( - the boots as useall)

my first attempt at doin blood; any constructive critism would be apreaceated thanx.
Yet again, the metals are some of the best I have ever seen :) Kudos. You're technique for metals is astoundingly realistic :)

Tip for the lips: the base colour of the skin with a drop of black.
That makes it a bit darker

BTW on your previous model I saw two mold-errors:
the back of the left arm and on top of the right shoulder.

Now all we need is the 7th edition rule that said if the models are killed they don't get to fight and we WOULD be a broken army! lol

Campaighn starting at my local store starting at 1500 heres myarmy list i knocked up some C&C would be appreaciated
4X bulls - IF,LA
4Xbulls-IF,LA
4X guts
4Xguts
Butcher-bangstick
Butcher-skul mantle
Butcher-Hafling cookbook
3X maneaters, HA,cahthayan logswords

Fisrt time using ogres so some tactics n stuff would be nice
Cheers,
Harry
i love the metal colour!.. are you going to paint the stiches on the ass or leaving them green?
the stitches on there ass will be grey same as the belt when its done   :D
And here they are my wovley ironguts my first fully painted ogre unit C@C welcome:

I can still see some moldlines and I don't like the gaps in their back where the shoulders are glued on.

The painting looks really nice though! I like the color scheme, it works well.

Regarding your list:

4X bulls - IF,LA
4Xbulls-IF,LA
4X guts
4Xguts
Butcher-bangstick
Butcher-skul mantle
Butcher-Hafling cookbook
3X maneaters, HA,cahthayan logswords

A Butcher cannot be your army general. Drop the one with the cookbook and get yourself a Bruiser.

'Eavy Bulls (IF + LA) are generally a point sink. If you have to spend point somewhere I can see it, but otherwise you will often be better off with just AHW or the plain ole' Ogre Club.

YAY randroid
some 1 has commented on my list before monday (the time of the game)
I pretty much f*cked up gluing the shoulders as the hands didn't fit in prperly but allas they were some of my first construction
So - the bucher and have
Gutrencha's lord pit fighter
Bruiser- Heavy armour
- siegebreaker
- fist full of laurrels
-184
puts my list 7 points over,
im sure my oppenents wont mind
Thanx,
harry
They are indeed painted fairly well, but the pants don't meet the standards of the rest of the model.
As for 'ard bulls, they have their uses. Against most elves, and vampire counts, they can be very good (because of the proliferation of low strength attacks), but I wouldn't normally put them in an all comers/tournie list.

i love the staff thing :D the head is really spikey and cool!
thought id give my thread a lil bump because its half way down the second page
(is that allowed?)
im not sure that the bumbs would be allowed.. some mods think its annoying.. but oh well this is a gnoblog so its better to keep it updated.. tough if you have something to add then you could always ressurrect it.. but still i dont think that the bumbs are allowed.. you better ask our moderators on that one..
