Stronghold Tournament

How about a Stronghold Tournament?

The current League is Map based and I was thinking of something more like a Tournament. Maybe with a pet Gnobblar or something as a prize?

It will be a 5 game tournament. Once each game has been played then the person who took the first turn could post the results of the game on a feedback thread and I would compile everyone's scores in the first post. If it works we could even make it an annual event.

For the first game players will be divided into pairs randomly and play a pitched battle.

For the second game onwards the top player will fight the second top and so on. They will fight the Cleanse Scenario from this page: http://folk.ntnu.no/tarjeia/avian/gaming/gaming_files/tournament_cleanse.doc

For the third game the players will fight the Trophy scenario from this page: http://folk.ntnu.no/tarjeia/avian/gaming/gaming_files/tournament_trophy.doc

For the fourth game the players will fight the Take and Hold scenario from this page: http://folk.ntnu.no/tarjeia/avian/gaming/gaming_files/tournament_takeandhold.doc

For the Final game players will play a Pitched Battle.

The victory point table will be altered slightly to make Massacres less common

Victory Points per battle:
VP difference Equates to
0 - 699 Draw
700 - 1499 Minor Victory
1500 - 2499 Solid Victory
2500+ Massacre
Also for each Battle you will get a number of Tournament points. These are used for Ranking for subsequent games as well as for Determining the winner at the end.

I'd be up for it. If I can get my damn paint finished that is... I assume we will play open lists, seeing as we could pop into the threads and see what magic items they are using anyways. Either way, Clan Treason is prepared

I´m interrested, but exam time draws close, so I don´t know if I´ll have enough time.
How many point battles are you looking at?

It would be 2250 point Tournament armies.

When do the exams start/end?

well, in 3-4 weeks, andwill proabbly last till  the end of june(medicine, bleh )
And afer that, I´m off to spend three weeks in a hospital as a compulsory praxis...

2250 pt.battles take about two weeks,sometimes more to accomplish here at stronghold, so I´m guessing I´d be able to play like two or three before I´m completely ovewhelmed by school stuff.

Sadly, I´ll have to pass this one, though I´ll be watching if I have time

Does anybody else have exams comming up? If the are a lot of people who would play but have exams then it could be delayed until the end of June. But if the is only one or two then its not worth it (sorry).

Also We need more people, at an absolute bear minimum we need 6 in order to be able to have 5 games each. So far we have 4.

Unfortunatly i too suffer from having exams
(Highers and i kinda need 5 A's in one year to get into medicine )
So i might have top sit this out i don't know yet

You set the rules, people go by them, and those who can´t won´t join. It´s all that simple

Anyways, I think more people will join, you just have to wait for a day or two, I´m pretty sure more will come and sign up.

@ Vam3tic: Another possible colleague? Don´t do it! Turn away till you have time! Medicine is yuck-yuck!
(seriously, though, don´tlet me put you off, just be prepared for LOTS of work, especially in the first two or three years (though the system may differ in Scotland from what we have here in Slovakia, so it might not be that bad afterall

OK. Time to start making army lists.

Basically its 2250 point army. If everyone would write their lists and PM them to me then no one will be able to base their list on what other people have.
Also only use the main list from each book not the alternative ones. Also as its a tournament should we disallow special characters?

I really don't care either way. Let people take their special characters. We'll see who laughs when I wipe the floor with their hides
