Here is my progress report, just so you can see where i am with all my projects
Ogres
Bruiser - Completed

Warning: This suggestion contains several wapanese clichés, mods have been warned ...
How about a tentacle-based army? You know, gigantic tentacled horrors, with vast dripping maws and masses of writhing wet tentacles. And maybe you could animé up the eyes a little. Wink, Wink Vyv

Lol sounds nice xD But im looking for a more chalanging idea to sculpt, tentacles sounds a bit easy. Ive been drawing up concepts for my Herald of Tzeench, this drawing sorta follows the LoC look-alike, also credit goes to WarplockMonkey its quite heavily based off his sculpt Heres a 30 second doodle of mine that i did to concept my HoT
Idea is basically its long kneck arcing forwards and facing downwards slightly, arms straight down hand in a cup with a conjured fireball flickering away. the second picture experiments with some shoulder plates, i dont think i will use them. Personally i think im going with the first.
P.s. Should this be in a different forum, gnoblog or something? If i start posting things like this?

Sure, why not.
Do you want the army to appear as a single, cohesive force, or will there be a clear split between the Tzeentch forces and Nurgle forces? Tzeentch models tend to be skinny, and if you look at the LoC they can be fairly gaunt, and deathly skinny works well for Nurgle daemons. You could bind the two forces together by capitalizing on the skinny aspect. Tentacles are (at least in my experience) surprisingly hard to do realistically. I think going against the grain would be cool, and if you are sculpting everything it'd be a great opportunity to do that. Don't do pus covered, pox-ridden Nurgle daemons, but do dry daemons- ribs exposed, suffering from famine, malnutrition, and worm infestation (in 3rd world countries worms kill by stealing all of the host's nutrients). I don't know what to do for Tzeentch, but doing a LoC as something other than a bird would be cool (did you see Pan's Labyrinth? The ogre from that would make an awesome LoC). I like the idea of flamers as anthropomorphic fire balls, but entire units of them might look silly.
Vyvyan; There is nothing wrong with your suggestion, the warning was... unnecessary. But in the future, remember this is not 4chan.

Thats a really good idea, i like to have my army looking as uniform as it can. So i think ill go with your idea for the nurgle daemons!

You think? Maybe ill just sculpt the changeling like that

Sounds interesting, but i have never seen that movie Could you show me a pic of it or something? Or describe it in more detail?
Note: i need to buy materials before i begin to scukpt anything. Once i have them i can give the herald/a plaguebearer a go ^^
Btw, seeing as this is a gnoblog now, and i dont have anything to show atm Daemon wise. Would anyone be interested in seeing how my ogre army is going?

here are some more of my ogre models:
This is my Butcher conversion, also my first ever use of GS. Hes meant to be slurping up some guts on a stick while holding a bangstick (not the best one, i know ), the apron i found difficult and had to redo a few times.
Currently im in the middle of painting my entry for the beastkiller competition, which will also be posted here, no spoilers though! Other things im working on atm is a ghark ironskin conversion, painting my IG standard bearer and painting my undercoated Gorger.
What do you all think ^^?

Those are all very well painted. The first bull's sword looks really good, it looks like an actual weapon (I mean to say, the black spots make it look pitted, and a smooth blade gets stuck in wounds via suction). I normally hate paint on the edge of bases (almost as much as I hate glass top stoves), but the lava dribbling down looks great.
Here's the ogre from Pan's Labyrinth (and by the way, your quality of life will improve by at least 30% if you watch this movie). I couldn't find a picture of it walking. The rest of it is just as gross and skinny/flabby. The hip bones project out quite a bit, and the legs turn at kind of a funny angle.

I prefer thumbnails like you have. That way scrolling is easier, the page is nicer to look at, I get to choose which picture to look at, and I think it is easier on the Stronghold's bandwidth.

Heres anouther update
This is my gorger, when i bought my second gorger model i thought to myself, theres no choice in positioning, and they all have exactly the same pose! So i decided to reposition both arms, bend the leg slightly, and stand it up on a rock!
P.s. sorry for the bad picture, not ebing able to see much from his torso up. I justed wanted to show how ive repositioned him (look at the legs and arms)
What do ya think ?
Edit: Just noticed the gap! Argh its so unproffesional now >.<

This is my bruiser, my concept for this conversion came out quite well, however my attempt at a shoulder pad was a bit pathetic (being the second time touching GS), and the whole model was ruined . My bruiser has a repositions arm, where i cut it in half, sculpted the fore-arm from scratch and stuck the hand on the end. His GW is also a conversion, top of a mace from the IG sprue attached to the bottom of a standard pole.
What ya think?

Nice, but I do think that the shade around his nipples is a bit big.
Additionally, after seeing you make such great metal, the gold/bronze/whatever is a bit of a letdown...
The pants and the conversion are ace though.

The gorger is hard to judge, because of the darkness (the dahhk-ness!), but the pose looks good. The bruiser is good. Yes the bronze shoulder pad is less than perfect, but it doesn't suck the rest of the model down. It just occurred to me what was bothering me about your model- the nipples. Painted aereolae (that word has far too many vowels) on ogres bug me, I just don't think they look good.

that shoulder on that bruiser is pure genious! i love the way you put the beartrap there! it looks wery nice!
Momada21 Feb 2009
Wow thanks for those quick replies xD
@Reg: The pose was what i was trying to let everyone comment on And thanks for the pointer about the nipples, it was always nibbling at me what was wrong with it, and you (and Manowar) helped me to realise what it was I try to create the areolae, though its difficult to get it to look realistic enough (to fit my painting style atleast).
@Manowar: What do you mean by "the gold/bronze/whatever is a bit of a letdown..."? That the contrast between the rusted metal and the Bronze is a letdown?

I mean that the bronze color isn't as well executed as the rest of the metal (which is excellent). The bronze just doesn't hold the standard.

Havnt updated in awhile, and unfortunatley after this minor update they will proably take even longer Unfortunatley with all my exams apporaching im going to have to put my modelling on hold. Ill only be continuing and painting my sculpting projects when im at GW, and when i have enough free time to sacrifice, so things are going to go slowly :/
But here the good news to brighten this post up! The palaquin itself (not the herald or carrier) is complete, though i havnt got my camera with me, pics will be up wthin the next few days

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.
And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.

You could perhaps go a little further. Perhaps have some smaller arms protruding through a wound in the chest, or some random body part. Or a hoof. Or perhaps some kind of rotting animal head with white eyes...
