As for the fluff in the book the ogres pick up any culture they are exposed to. My general whilst a man eater campaigned alot in Bretonnia. In that time he met up with some rhinox riders and with them and some other maneaters decided to get their own tribe and turn them Bretonnian.
So here are a few pics of what I have done. I'll post and army list later when I can find a text version of it. These are my Butchers (Damsels) I have a ways to go with them but I think they are truning out quite well. This is one of my rhinox riders. A unit of leadbelchers. I went for the squire look as the cannons just dont fit in (The original tournament I was going in was 2250 but went to 3000pts so I had to thro something in) And here is my maneaters.
I have done the general yet. I have about 2 and a half weeks to get it all done so I hope I get it finishwed in time. The General will be along the lines of the maneaters with a couple of bretonnian foot knights as sword gnoblars.
So what do you think of the idea so far.

I will also post how they go at their first tournament. Thanks for your kind words.

I have 3 gnoblar units. 1 unit of trappers with squire hats. This guy rides a dog cause his unit killed a dog handler in its first outing on the table. I stole the dog from my mate he was annoyed when he saw it but I think he sees the humour now. 1 unit of gnoblars are like the grail pilgrims. They carry a dead ogre to battle. I havent finished them yet. The other unit called the toy knights ride wooden ponies to battle and have a retinue of coconut clappers and other various hanger onners. heres a pic.

Ok after being told about this thread from ikim.. I just had to bump it to ask if Ogrebane has those pictures and if he can share them.. I was thinking, and still am, of doing a Bret Ogre army.. after seeing this I want to do it even more but will have to really work hard to get even close to this caliber of work.. like most here I would love to see the completed army as one.. and individual shots as well if we could.. would be nice..

Well, this is just the sort of bilge ye 'd expect from GW these days. Over at the brewery, I posted a comment on their GD policy some months exposing Alan Merrett's arrogance... Personally, I b'lieve that those Judges who dropped yer mini deserve a short walk across a plank preferably with their noses bunched in and near shark-infested waters. Ye got Sharks down in OZ, don't ye?
As fer Alan Merrett, I envison stagin' a chance meeting between him and a Giant Kraken, with Merrett wearing a Japanese School Gel's uniform, savvy?*

I got a large round base from I think LOTR. Its about 60mm across. I glued 6 gut plates around the outside and then drilled a hole in the centre. The center pointer is one of the scrappy gnobs glues to a round base. A round piece of sprue is glued to the round base then poked thru the hole in the large round base. I then heated my knife and melted the piece of round sprue so the top part wouldnt fall off but making sure it would still turn.
Add sand to base and paint up as desired. I did it the same way as my bases so it fit in. Last is to paint the numbers on the turn counter and voila.
Heres a bigger pic

Good Lord, what have you done? This is so incredible amazing. Gosh darn it, the lady must has blessed you. I knuckle down my head facing your inspiring Ogres. I like -no love- your ideas and your passion making them come true. I've never seen such a great convertet, nice painted and extensive conversion of the background. I would be grateful to see the different material in closeup Pics (the magic cards, the charge markers, the magic markers etc.) and hear, how you produced them. And maybe -if it isn't too much work- you could make from every unit and charakter a single closeup and sum them up in one Post.
Wow, really, really great work. Sorry for my english, but beside the lack of knowledge your army took my breath away. Keep on going...
Greetings form the Greenhorn

Ogrebane this army is outstanding, have you ever thought of trying to get it published in the aussie white dwarf ?.
ogrebane06 Jun 2007
I sent WD a few pics a couple of years ago but they didnt seem interested. I think my stuff is as good as anyone elses that they have shown. Maybe people are sick of looking at ogres. I dont know why tho they are the only truly pure gamers army.

whats a matter with White Dwarf ?, your army is heaps better than most of the ones they have published.

Ogres are not the brand of the month.. that is what is wrong with it.. and yes Ogrebane's army is a true delight but at times it doesnt fit in with their idea of what Ogres should be ( check out his Goat riding Hunter.. beautiful but not in the GW theme of things.. )
From the depths of the Bretonnian Empire comes a new Ogre force..
2007 record of my Ogre Army - 15 Games - 11 Wins 2 Losses 2 Ties 74% Win, 13% Lose, 13% Ties
2007 Record of my Night Goblin Army - 6 Games - 2 Wins, 2 Ties, 2 Losses 33% Win, 33% Tie, 33% Lose

Ive been asked about the comparitive size of my ogres so heres a pic As you can see each ogre gets about a half head taller. It may be hard to see as the bases are different sizes as well but thats about the level I was going for.
Anyway I hope that helps.

I think's it's unfair the way that GD didn't accept his goat-riding hunter, it fits fine into GW theme. He hunted down a big goat so now he rides it, what's wrong with that? Next they'll be saying that Juggernauts are too futuristic for WHFB!
